Just wait till they search his house and they find M rated games like Call of Duty.![]()
Oh it's gonna be a classy day...
Nuance is lost in moments like this. You're taking it too literal.gotta let more people see this stupid quote.
This is looking an episode of The Newsroom.
YepWasn't Thompson disbarred?
LOL you're serious. Then it'd just be ''someone hacked his account!'' and ''it must be him for so and so reason!'' ''Same name same palce!'' He owes you nothing, you and all these other morons sharing the picture owe him not to accuse him of something merely because of his name. You're disgusting.

Well, it's not a school shooting without Jack Thompson trying to hang his hat somewhere on it.![]()
Oh it's gonna be a classy day...
Wow. What a dick.![]()
Oh it's gonna be a classy day...
If anything it just proves his identity shouldn't have just been thrown out like that. It's the complete fault of the media.
The shooter is dead. Just by posting he's confirming that's not him unless somehow it got hacked.
He shouldn't have to. Not his fault the media is pathetic.
This is because the media is concerned less with informing the public than it is with beating the competition to a scoop.
Fuck them in the wallet.

Why? I'm just saying so people back off him.He doesn't owe these vultures jack shit.
Fuck. No.
That's just as bad if they showed the picture... People don't come back for the retraction.Nope they are staying the local news have identified the shooter as this guy but are waiting on the official statement.
Except bullying was a factor in Columbine and Virginia Tech.
Weird how that works.
An adult has far more social connections, far more experience and knowledge that's just lost on their death. The younger a kid is, the less of that they have until they're basically just blank slates whose real value comes from the attachment of their parents and family. A sane, logical society would mourn the old more than the young, if they were forced to differentiate.
Sentimentality's odd, huh?
I mean that's exactly the reaction you get if you actually voice that opinion, but it's not one based on any real logic is it? I just find it an interesting flaw in Human reasoning, though one which has an obvious biological root. "Protect kids, preserve the species".
Amazing how someone can sound so pretentious and self-righteous... yet still be wrong. A child's death is seen as more tragic because a) they are more vulnerable, and b) they have just started their lives/connections and everything about them is potential and their future.English. It's not a cultural thing though is it? It's a biological imperative that people translate into what they assume to be a universally accepted truth. One that doesn't really stand up to any intellectual rigour. And it's such an ingrained aspect of our psychology that even voicing a dissenting opinion is considered abhorrent.
I mean don't get me wrong - I'm appalled by today's events. It's just that this is the conclusion of a tangent started by a comment I thought was a bit absurd. I'll probably stop now as it's getting very off topic and a little bit disrespectful (which really wasn't the intent).

Oh, fuck the Facebook guy. He will get over it and some money to boot.
I don't really know if you can blame the media for this. I think it's an aspect of our society. People being morbidly curious about stuff like this isn't new. If something like this had happen in the 1960s, people would just have to wait until the newspaper had details. Now we just are able to get details much quicker. People leave a larger internet than they did even 10 years ago. Every post and picture can be scrutinized so that people can try and figure out one simple question. Why?
A police officer or someone who worked with the first responders, or someone from the community would have leaked the name eventually. It would have spread. I get your point, but I don't really see what difference it makes. It would have been released or "known" pretty quickly. I just think that we (NeoGAF) as a community have to be more careful about hunting out and posting info with disregard for it's validity. Some of the news organizations are obviously using their viewers as a way to get info. They want us to hunt down information and find it for them.
Time to shoot some messages to classmates at Huff. Po.
Same only mine is completely private, the only thing you can see is my profile picture. That's how mine are. Shouldn't have to make your shit public because the media decides to release the name of the shooter in such a fashion and then try to say "oh your share a name and location MUST BE YOU."
Sure, but the burden of proof shouldn't be on him and we shouldn't accept what's happening. People should not be sharing this in the first place and if we continue to accuse people without proof where does it end? Why? I'm just saying so people back off him.
Thompson back in the game.
I saw a screencap on /b/ of a thread that went on yesterday. OP said he was going to kill himself today and he'd try to make it to the news. He said to watch the news at 9:00 am. The only clue he gave, is that he lives/d in Connecticut.
Did this shooter kill himself?

Holy christ, news, stop interviewing these kids. Fuck, leave them alone. Let the cops do what they must, hopefully with psychologists present, but keep the damned microphones away from the kids. I don't need to fucking know how many bullets some little kid heard. Seriously. Stop.

Whole situation is shitty.
