Vita "hacked," (PSP) homebrew on the way (not piracy)

It's still most likely just PSP homebrew. Not Vita one.

That's perfectly fine though, especially since the CPU speed feature in TN-C should allow the Vita to run more intensive stuff than the PSP ever could. Assuming I understand it correctly at least.

It's a great solution since the Vita itself is still "safe" and all the homebrew is sandboxed. Yeah, somebody could pirate PSP games with it, but they could do that with or without the Vita.

I'm back! again! and it seems much has changed! so forgive me if my inquiries are outdated lol.

I'm still on the OG custom firmware with mad blocker, I tried to re-install the SNES emulator since my original issue was I couldnt get games to work.

now I cant get the emulator to work; this is the screen that comes up:

QiAur.jpg

so I want to assume that somehow files are getting corrupted during the transfer?

(hence why I couldnt get certain roms to work before, also coz they were transferred to my system via the wifi FTP Duck method whereas the emulator was originally transferred over using the CMA program).

my question is is there certain options and settings I need to make sure are checked on my FTP client prior to attempting a file transfer? FYI I am using a program called FileZilla coz it was free, but if there's a better program out there plz let me know too!

Make sure it transfers one file at a time, I think they get corrupted or mess up if you let it do more than that.
do u mean to literally drag and drop each file one by one?

coz there's like over 100 files in that SNES Euphoria folder... I'm sure not everybody is doing that, there has to be an easier way or a special setting that everybody except for me is doing.

I just now tried to do it the old skool way again using the CMA cable transfer but the pspita was making me do a system update

I guess that way is no longer an option...

Its a setting in the program, set max concurrent transfers to one.

ah sweeeeeet thanks I found it! it was set at 2!

so the good news is I got the emulator to work now!!

the bad new is it still wont play anything... freezes when I try to load a rom lol.

o well I guess these things werent meant to be for me, time to sell the vita lol

I read you can use some proxy store access gig to get PS+ on Vita even if its on 1.81, if that's a big thing for some people.

Have no idea the details of any of it, though, just noticed a few blurbs about it in passing.

You have to wait for the new exploit if you don't have the exploit capable copy of the game already.

Even if I get the game through a proxy server thing. In other words if I buy the game while still on 1.81. Will it work? or have the actual game files been updated.

I just want a good gba emulator.

I updated for pS+ but still have Gravity Crash available. Can I just redo the exploit or will I need to wait for another patch?
It was patched in 2.0.

The game was removed.

Ok, so i am playing Chrono rigger on the Snes emulator, but when i exit and get back to the game later the game starts like i never played & i cannot load the saved game, WTF?

Dat pirate sheet... ;)

Alright, I want to update to 2.00, so what's the easiest way for me to remove the Gravity Crash exploit CFW without having to format my Vita? I don't have any ISOs or homebrew on it (honestly, I never bothered using it). The only thing on there is the exploit save file and the Vita FTP program installed. I don't know if I can connect to my PC without updating because I'm using the official Sony Content Manager (I could never get that hacked version that doesn't connect to the Internet to work).

What should I do? I just want to sync my damn P4G trophies. >_<

Can I just update to 2.00, then connect to my Vita via CMA and remove the Gravity Crash exploit, considering its the only thing I have on there?

Thanks! Completely forgot that I could just delete the save files from the Vita's Settings > Application Management. All updated to 2.0 now with no problems.

I ordered the AC Vita bundle and would love to play this as a true successor to my old PSP 1000 with M33... is there any method at the moment to get these exploits? Sony removed a few...

Oh well. I doubt that the Vita in its current state will be unhackable for very long though. Now its just the matter of waiting for a new exploit.

I bet there will be something within the next month or so, they've already got things running on 2.0 but need time to pull it together and likely will wait to see what the probable 2.01 adds.

Haven't had time to stay infromed about Vita, so this could play PSP ISOs for a short time and might be able to do so again after the new FW is hacked/bypassed? All PSP games or only those on the store?

Playing Tekken 6 on Vita is sooo good, the GoWs might be even better, but being able to have MGA1+2 and colourfull stuff like Disgaea on Vita without buying those games again...drool.

Might as well update.

There aren't any live exploits right now and the next one will be for 2.00 or 2.01. Plus you would most likely need to download a game off PSN for the exploit in the first place so you need to be on the latest firmware to do that, unless you just happen to have the game in question on your Vita already.

If you have a PS3, I believe there are still ways of getting the exploit on the Vita through the use of some proxies.

So if you're at a lower firmware and have a PS3, you could update to 1.80 via proxy and transfer MHFU from the PS3 which apparently was put back into the store after 1.81.

Question:

I am still on 1.81 using the Mad blocker exploit, will i need to get the new upcoming game or i will be able to use the current one on 2.01?

If anyone manages to get the name of the game early please post it here! Last time it was pulled from PSN before the announcement on Wololo's site.

So, brand new Vita owner, have firmware 1.67 on it but it's completely virginal. It seems to be a bitch to find out any information regarding where to go from here (everything seems to assume at least a basic knowledge of Vita hacks... of which I have none).

What's the best option for me from here? I saw that there's going to be something out quite soon, but I don't like the idea of having to react super quickly for something, especially considering I'm in a shitty timezone for this sort of thing (AU). That, and I'm not sure whether I'd have to get a specific regional version (say, US) because that'd mean I'd have to set up an account with credit in advance.

Thanks guys :)

BTW I should say that my ultimate goal (if that makes a difference) is basically to have a Lumines-machine (hell, the main reason I bought it was for Electronic Symphony). So, being able to play PSP games that haven't been released on PSN is what I'm looking for!

You don't really have any options now, you might as well update to the latest firmware.

All the games that have had exploits released have been patched, and the next exploit will be released for the latest firmware. And you will need to be able to access PSN to get whatever game will be required.

Ah, fair enough. As long as updating now doesn't lock me out of anything I *could've* used.

So does that mean there are no exploits that use cart-based games? Because I'm sure there were at least one or two for PSP that used UMDs...

There aren't any actual Vita exploits, all the ones so far have just been for the PSP emulator.

The new one should be same as the previous ones in terms of functionality.

Apparently there's a way to get the hack working if you're on a lower FW, but I've never tried it so can't offer any help on how to do it or confirm if it actually works :/

That's *perfect*, thanks! There really isn't a beginners guide I could find anywhere. But it looks like those articles are pretty recent, so maybe it's just that no-one's written them yet.
