It depends on your tastes. I prefer to see new ideas in new games tailored for the system and to evolve the genre a bit more than a well made multiplatform Mario wannabe that doesn't add anything new for this version (it would be a good addition but I don't think that is needed because is a good game).

I think you are doing it a massive disservice. I think you can legitimately argue that yes, it does not do much new and is perhaps not pushing the system's features. But I also think the way you are deriding it for being a Mario clone is misguided ; the game is fundamentally excellent. It looks incredible on the Vita, and it plays beautifully too. It is a perfect example of how a polished and well executed 2d platformer can be really successful on the Vita.

I have not played LBP Vita - mostly because I am not the biggest fan of the PS3 iterations, but I don't see why there can't be a place for both types of games on the platform and I think merely casting Rayman Origins as an identikit sidescrolling platformer is undervaluing its' worthiness as a damn fine videogame.

Well, more screenshots would make the thread pretty cluttered. The way that thread is formatted atm is pretty nice since it gives an initial impression that manages to evoke some interest. Nothing is hindering people from googling an interesting title after all.

So does anyone with PS+ and the auto upload save option enabled, actually have it work even after fw 2.01?

The other auto functions work fine, and I can manually push to the cloud, and played a bunch of games that updated save files, and it never works. Tried disabling and re enabling and whatnot, etc.

You have to enable it on a game by game basis (this isn't explained at all). Open up the content manager application, and where you'd normally upload manually on the right there's a question mark that you can go into and enable auto-upload.

On that note, shame you can't back up your PS1 saves.

Speaking of Malicious Rebirth, Alvion stated that at the Vita version the character has only 1/3 of polygons and 1/4 of texture size, compared to the PS3 version. Yet they have managed to make two versions pretty much equal (see above pictures).

This is what can be achieved through "optimization" process.

Nope, the 'old' and 'new' aren't exclusive. They can be applied to both games, but they mad it with a different focus.

RO adds new things to the genre, but it's essentially a homage to the traditional old school 2D platforming.

LBP it's mainly a platformer, but it's more focused on getting its own new things like some awesome user made games (including from other genres) that take really creative touch and gyro controls usage to a new level, and that can be compared standalone to smartphone games quality wise for their own.

I've set them as:

L2 = <L (flick left stick left)
R2 = R> (flick right stick right)

... which is fine, but at the moment my hands sit on the rear pad so the wolf keeps appearing without my beckoning him.

Might see if I can avoid mapping L2/R2 at all somehow, perhaps map those stick movements to L3/R3 instead (but I'm not sure is those mappings are available in game).

The Muramasa IP is owned by MarvelousAQL. I'm not sure we even know if Vanillaware is doing the Vita port. Dragon's Crown on the other hand is an IP owned by Atlus, which Vanillaware is developing.

Here's some actually founded speculation:

This is Kamitani's lifelong dream project. All hands on deck, pour everything into it kind of stuff. They were hiring more people and expanding the studio to work on it.
Grand Knight's History, for this reason, never saw a western release. They simply didn't have the time or funds to help Xceed bring it over (even though the translation was complete).
Ignition goes from being a development/publishing house to just publishing (Japan studio's El Shaddai was the last game they made in-house).
Shortly thereafter, ATLUS gets the publishing rights from Ignition.
A PSblog post by Avi gets put up. Vanillaware is getting development help from Atlus, they're expanding the game's scope, and it will no longer have a 29.99$ price point (39.99 confirmed by Avi for Vita).

So it seems obvious that
1. Vanillaware was creating a game more massive than any they've done before, and needed help (plus money, if they're doing work on Muramasa's 4 new characters and quests).
2. Ignition, closing their dev side, couldn't provide that.
3. Atlus picks it up, gets some of the SMT & Persona people on board.
4. Vita still confirmed in late April. Game still set for Japanese release in Q1-Q2 2013 as of October.

Besides, Dragons Crown IS still announced as Vita title, so its not like there isnt any game coming from them. Its just you resizing facts to make them fit your argument instead of forming your argument around the facts we have.

Yeah, some games might be less optimized than others in regard to that. I have no way of pinpointing the exact issue, but I'd say that is a very likely candidate.

If I am not mistaken the non-japan Vita market is way bigger than the jp one, making it potentially more interesting, yes.

Spongebog Gravjet racing was canceled in 2011. That list is from April 3rd 2012. I just posted a damn comment by Avi confirmed the Vita pricepoint in late April. It's a little sad to witness how your thought process works - try not to imagine demons were there are none.

They have EO 4 for the 3ds in a few months but yeah they haven't released much recently.
they also have the two megaten games in japan (soul hackers and megaten 4) which will hopefully come this way as well but again 3ds

First off it's never once been mentioned for the 360 by any credible source. (edit I see you link but I will stick with my credible source argument)
Secondly if atlus was planning to can Dragon's Crown vita they likely would have pulled the preorders for it by now.

I really don't see a reason to worry about platform switches from atlus... they are usually pretty good about sticking to what they announce

SUMMARY: Dragon&#8217;s Crown is still coming to PS3 and PS Vita, Atlus is bringing it (and helping to produce it), and it&#8217;ll hit North America in 2013.

I'm not being mean. I quite like him and totally support his right to hate games other people like. However he hates a lot of games I like hence his opinion of such a game means nothing to me.

I might get ragnarok I might not. Will wait till its out to decide though. I'll still be getting pso2, soul sacrifice and god eater 2 regardless.

I think he's 100% wrong about Atlus' outlook on Vita, and Japanese devs in general other than Capcom.

But I can't really blame him for his negativity. To be honest though, the 3DS game cancellations have been a lot more crushing on balance than the Vita ones (Cave has a hard-on for iOS, and did anyone care about Dungeon Defenders?)
