I thought you were getting Lego Batman?
oh ok so still no reason to sub to + for me then
I thought you were getting Lego Batman?
and it just let you ask why in hell Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner is not on the PSN store? and why Bamco don't throw a Digimon game at us?
Oh my god, gravity rush is so fun. I love just flopping around town to find hidden gems.
The challenges are pretty hard though...
Aww.. so painful when that happensSony should have put a more clear "WARNING" message when deleting a game :/

Yup there's a lot of little things that the Vita doesn't tell you about. I had to ask my friend just to find out how to delete stuff which seems embarrassing but how the hell was I supposed to know holding the touchscreen for a few seconds brought up the options? My instinct was to do the PS3 method and hit Triangle on the bubbles, which I'm pretty sure doesn't do anything strangely enough.

Yeah, same goes for the strange impulse to hide everything from the user. I already used it 3 times, but I still had to search for the place to change automatic uploads to the cloud every damn time. A few Gaffers apparently had the same issue, lol. But how the hell are you supposed to know that its hidden in the (i) icons >_<
You don't own any other touchscreen device I assume? Because that is how it works on all of them and it seems like an accepted feature at this point.

By the end of the game I had about 30000-40000 gems spare, and that's with everything maxed out. That's a shame, because I like doing challenges as I go so they don't pile up at the end.

Some of them are still challenging depending on how used you get to some of the mechanics. I've got every ability leveled up to max and I still have a hard time with the sliding challenges. I only have about 3 challenges left to gold medal and 2 of them are sliding and the third is one where you have to stasis throw objects into a field. The gold score is waaaay too high and I haven't gotten any closer to it than 2000 points so far (gold is 6k, silver 4k and so on).

The one with a big square field in front of you with crates on either side, and vases and the like near trees? In the 4th area? Last challenge i did. What I never realised until then was that if you hold Circle, the stasis field will expand and let you hold 5 or so items at once. One I figured that out it was easy. you can even get the Water towers of the roofs for 500 points each I believe
*mind blown*. That should definitely make it easier. As it stands I could only pick up 2 at a time and I was wondering if my positioning was off since I have it leveled up all the way.
I dont think its that obvious tbh, especially since savegames are single files on PS3. Its also quite a bit faster for me to redownload a game than restoring it. "All content (including savegames)" would have probably been sufficient, though.I think it does, doesn't it. Warning all content will be deleted?
IMO, it seems common sense to back a game up (unless you have auto cloud save uploads) before you delete it to make room on your card.![]()
You could try one of those stick addons. Its like a small stick on top to change the form factor, looked at those a while ago on Amazon. So, what do I do once the joysticks give out? I've had my Vita since the early US launch (Feb. 15th) and already both analog sticks are losing resistance. Not to mention that the rubber is quickly losing its texture.
I love the world and every thread is a happy place full of sunshine.![]()

This took me forever to learn... I didn't understand why I would get only a few objects even though leveling the power said "increase the # of objects you can pull in" or whatever. Without it, there's no way to complete some challenges (there's maybe one in the DLC that involves moving citizens to a safe zone?).
Yeah that moving people took a few tries since I never knew I could hold circle. I can only imagine how easy it would be to do now...

ooh thanks. That'll be useful to me since I'm just starting.
Are the dlc worth getting? And are they better to play during the game or after?
The DLC's give you a costume, 2 story missions, and 2 challenges each I believe. For about £3. Not sure how much it is elsewhere. I personally liked them, but I quite liked the game so I wanted more of it so it was worth it for me. Thing is I probably wouldn't have bought them, but I got the first (Maid set) free for pre-ordering. After giving it a shot I decided to get the rest. Did you buy the game or get it via PS+?
As for when, if you do get them, do them as they are available. When i was playing the game, I never knew which challenges were DLC or not since they are integrated quite normally. Like the rest of the challenges, you'll probably need to wait till you upgrade your abilities before you can Gold them.
Well thanks to Shahed's tip I just wrapped up my last challenges and got my Gravity Rush platinum! Must have been my new-found inspiration because I did the last 2 sliding challenges I needed right after the stasis one on the first try.
I agree entirely. I bought them before I ever started the game because 3 outfits, 6 story missions, and 6 challenges (with 24 trophies) seemed worthwhile for $12 ($3.99 each).
I thought they fit really well in the story too, during a normal playthrough. I don't know if I'd have liked them as much if I had bought them post game and went back to do those.
So, what do I do once the joysticks give out? I've had my Vita since the early US launch (Feb. 15th) and already both analog sticks are losing resistance. Not to mention that the rubber is quickly losing its texture.

I got it free with PS+, so no sets came with the game.
And wow, if the hold-o was what made the difference between success and failure on the pitching challenges, then maybe this is doable! I was trying to do the slide challenge earlier but I don't think I have the slide ability unlocked. I was very confused.
You could play nothing but RPGs and visual novels. Then you'll only have to worry about your O or X button getting insanely squeaky.

Gravity Rush finished, really good game despite my control issues and apparently slightly busted R button now. I hope they get to make a sequel.
Nice! Gravity Rush was my first Vita platinum. I always thought challenges that involved the Statis field were the most annoying, followed quickly by the annoying Gravity Slide (The one time the game feels gimmicky). In hindsight the former isn't so bad now that I know I could have held circle.
So now that you've finished it all, what do make of it? Would you get a sequel? And what game you playing next?
That stasis challenge was the only hard one for me as the leveled up ability really made the others easy for me even though I didn't know about the holding circle trick. The sliding stuff was nightmares for me because I really don't like motion stuff in games but thankfully it wasn't too terrible with a maxed out ability.
I really liked the game and I'm hoping they make a sequel. I'll definitely buy it instead of waiting for it to go free on PS+ like I did with this one. I hope they include more stuff to do in the free roam parts of the game because all there really was was flying around and finding gems, which was nice in its own way but more diversity would be good. Fine tune the controls any way they can too.
Hopefully virtue's last reward gets here monday so I can play that next.

While I did like the world, I agree they need more stuff to do in them apart from catching gems. While that was fun, as were some of the challenges, I can imagine the game world being a lot more fleshed out in terms of content. If they can do that, fine tune the controls, and add more depth to the combat, then we could have a really good game on our hands for the sequel.
Did you get around to playing 999, or did you watch it on Youtube? Either way as long as you got the True End in some way that's the main thing. The puzzles are better in VLR, as is the way you go different routes so there's no need to repeat sections of the game in order to pick a different option. Bear in mind though it has a lot more dialogue and text to go through compared to 999.
Also remember that even if there are puzzle's, the main draw is really in the story, so if the puzzles aren't to your liking, you should be perfectly okay to just use a spoiler free walkthrough if you want to get out of rooms quicker. If you liked the story of the first game, then this game works just fine
Buy the Gravity Rush DLC
Bullshit, I had to replace mine after 8 month due to image retention. Plus when I got mine back I compared the new one with my friends and mine was significantly brighter. Read up on the technology.See that is the thing. People talk about how they are worried about the life of the OLED screen, but the analogue sticks will die way before the OLED will.
Wash your hands after you eat. If you're touching the vita after you eat without washing your hands, the oils will break the rubber down. So, what do I do once the joysticks give out? To be fair - 8months in, new LCDs look significantly brighter then old units too.pixelbox said:Plus when I got mine back I compared the new one with my friends and mine was significantly brighter. Read up on the technology.
Nope. I had an original DS but it wasn't advanced enough to have storage really. I've never had a smartphone or tablet.
I didn't notice on mine. Oled burn-in is a reality rather members on gaf believes it or not. I wonder why did Sony keep static GUI after studied the technology ?To be fair - 8months in, new LCDs look significantly brighter then old units too.
I youtubed 999 a month or two ago and saw everything. Kind of wish the true ending wasn't the..well, true ending because it spiraled into stupid land whereas everything before it was pretty good and contained. But regardless of that I'm up to speed on what happened I think. If I did forget anything it'll probably come back to me when there's some reference in this game.
You don't notice because it's extremely gradual over time.I didn't notice on mine. Oled burn-in is a reality rather members on gaf believes it or not. I wonder why did Sony keep static GUI after studied the technology ?

I know I have only had my Vita a short while, but made a post on Gamestyle about how it has affected me and my attitude towards gaming this year:
http://gamestyle.com/blog/why-the-playstation-vita-is-the-best-thing-to-happen-to-me-this-year/
Those Oleds are the same technology but with different sub-pixel arrangements. What about the browser? Since you had no issues with oleds how should I handle the browser and static guis like life bars?Less static than some. The bubbles and default wallpapers are constantly moving. I've had multiple OLED devices since 2009 (over three years now) and have never had any burn-in problems. I'm not pretending image burn-in doesn't exist, but they also aren't a problem that everybody, or the majority will see the effects of. I own devices with OLED, SUPER AMOLED, SUPER AMOLED+ (the Vita's screen type), IPS, and regular LCD, and I am ecstatic that Sony chose OLED because for me and for media you can't beat it. It may not have the most accurate colors, but this isn't a photo-editing tool. It's for gaming and video, and it's brilliant for that.

I wish sony remodels it with a lcd.I know they're all OLED, I was just giving you my experience with varying devices. And I didn't say the entire UI was moving, just that it did more than most UIs do. What should you do? Just use it. I just use all of my devices and haven't had an issue in over three years since my first OLED device (a Zune HD). Granted, burn-in is a real problem, and again, I am not pretending it doesn't exist. But LCD has it's fair share of problems that I feel are worse than OLED including burn-in (yes, LCD has image retention problems too), ghosting, input lag, poor black levels, and, for better or worse, more muted colors.
