Almost 7000 for a console with no games!

I keep forgetting it's December, I'll probably get nothing this year. Fuck.
It gets worse, I want it with Tank! Tank! Tank!. No joke.

Far better purchases than the We-too currently is
I already own a non-SP GBA, though. PS2, yeah, I've been wanting to buy one for ages so I can play my PS2 library again, I think mine died back in 2006 or 2007.

I'll pass on Wii U... or maybe I'll get one with Smash Bros 4, so I'll be waiting at least a couple of years.
SAKURAI PLEASE, let Smash 4 be more Melee and less Brawl.

Did you pay one bajillion pesos? Today I saw a Deluxe WiiU for $6600 MXN and I was very tempted...
Nop, I paid $381.85 dollars (Tucson tax included). I like living relatively near the border :D
The cheapest I have seen it here is $6900 at Sam's Club and Costco.

That doesn't sound very tempting...
When you REALLY want something, it kinda is. I was very close to buy it at Liverpool [20% off ($5840 pesos), plus I had a $1000 pesos gift card]

It's the first time I see it at a price lower than $7200 MXN. Plus it's stuff-buying time, man, I want also a PS2 slim and a GBA SP.
Do it*! I already got another SP [backlit, blue] and I am hunting down another PS2 slim.
*
I tend to buy 2 of everything, sometimes more... yes, I have a problem
:P

Awesome! I cant wait to get one and play some games with you.
YAY! <3

You haven't used your 3DS in a while :(

I am not saying it's worth $7000 (I wouldn't buy it at the price), but NSMBU and ZombiU are great.
Plus, I have heard good things about Nintendo Land [I haven't tried it yet, I know it isn't for every gaffer] and some digital-only games.

I played Brawl one week before release (precisely because Liverpool screwed up with the release date) and the last time I played it was... like one hour ago.

A guy pretty much admitted to piracy in the Dolphin thread and he wasn't banned. Hm. I wonder if it's a permanent ban.

People that have been banned for admitting to piracy have come back before.
I once called out Andrex after he said he rips his Wii games to an external hard drive and then sells them and he got banned but came back. Thank god he came back, I felt bad about that. :(

Also, sorry guys but Brawl is kinda boring. I hope the next Smash is better.

Kinda? Brawl IS boring. Melee is still one of the most addictive games I've ever played.

Oh, I thought most people were talking about Brawl.

Yeah I was so hyped when Brawl came out but... it was missing a lot of what made Melee great. It's a shame because so much time and effort went into it.

christmas day shows how our relationships are so weak compared to straight relationships.

NEVER, ever would my brother and sister spend christmas day apart from with their wife and husband and their children.

I am single now, but most of my friends with partners will go like fucking losers alone to their family gatherings and pretend they are single.

yet everyone demands same rights....*facepalm

I think this is a bad generalisation, like most generalisations really.

I'm going home to spend time with my family, away from my boyfriend, because I haven't seen them for five months. I see my boyfriend everyday and sometimes it's frustrating, especially as someone who likes time to themselves from time to time.

I know you're, or at least I'm assuming, referring to gay couples who aren't out and scared of their families finding out. However, couples who spend Christmas day away from each other aren't always doing it out of fear of being outed. :)

Any good advice for a first dinner date? Who pays for it? The one who asks the other one out? The one with the most income? Wait until one offers? Going Dutch?
Keep in mind that I live in Sweden, where going Dutch is pretty common, even among couples and dates, but I wouldn't want to offend the other person by either pay for everything or not pay at all.
Had it been a girl, I would have paid, "just because", but now I'm not so sure. :/

Split the bill in half

for whatever reason, fear or not, almost every serious straight couple would have to negotiate where to go to, they'd never say "o.k I go my way and you your way", they'd stick together.

we are definitely behind compared to them.

from what I've seen, for a straight man, his wife and children come first and then in a distant second everyone else. If relatives don't like his family, then fuck the family, the same for the woman, husband and children come first.

Are the gay couples you're referencing living together? If my boyfriend and I had our own place, we'd have Christmas dinner and visit families on Christmas Eve/Boxing day.

Brawl was amazing I saw no reason to go back to Melee at all.

I really want a Wii u :( they are so expensive and I don't even have a proper tv, but soon I'll find my own place.

I don't know, man. Going dutch IMO just makes people seem very cheap or worse, that you're not really interested. The general rule is that the person who asks the other out is the one who should pay.

When I was with Dennis we always did Christmas Eve dinner with his family and then I do Christmas Day with my mother. If had a family of my own then they would most likely take priority on a holiday but that doesn't mean I can't do things with my other family either. Every family is different though.

This conversation does remind me of a topic that we had a few years ago. A Gaffer was upset that his brother chose his wife and children over the rest of the family on Christmas and I believe there is also an issue about gift giving.

I can't even begin to understand this. Firstly, I take offense to the idea that same sex relationships are weak in comparison to others, that's just nonsense to me. Maybe in your experience that idea has formed, but it's not what I see in my world. Me and my boyfriend do Christmas Eve dinner at his family's, then I stay over at my mom's for Christmas morning. After eating with them I'll go over to his family's to visit, then later on we exchange our gifts between the two of us at our place, then all our friends come over. When/if we have children, sure, we'd probably stick together and alternate which family to stay overnight with, but would still see both families. I truly feel sad for your friends that can't even be themselves on Christmas. I was always welcome at my bf's family's house for holidays, and vice versa.

And I don't really see how your friends being the way they are means we somehow shouldn't deserve equality. Have you considered that maybe systemic inequality led your friends to internalize some of it and act the way they are? Which is of course all the more reason to fight for it. Merry Christmas to you anyway =D

Oh, are we discussing Smash in here?

My biggest issue with Brawl is the absolutely atrocious attempt to balance with a concerted effort to undermine the game's competitive spirit. Tripping was and remains probably the worst offence to occur in a fighter to date. I don't care if Sakurai wants it so baby brother Timmy wants a chance to win at the game but that's what the whole point of handicaps are for. At the very least, if you're going to introduce stupid mechanics, have them as a menu option so the rest of us can turn that shit off.

That said, best Brawl characters are without a doubt Ike, Captain Olimar and Pokemon Trainer (though I sill play you Marth and Ness!).

I would actually use homebrew to force tripping off back when I played all the time.

Melee mains: Pichu, Captain Falcon, Game and Watch

Brawl mains: Ganondorf, Game and Watch, ROB, Captain Falcon

Heh, even if I brought up the idea, he asked me out, but I wouldn't want him to pay for me, I dunno, I feel kind of emasculated when someone pays for me, lol. But I wouldn't want to offend him by refusing hum either. Oh well, I guess we can discuss it once it happens. :)

Haven't been in this thread in a while. Just wanted to throw in my two cents. My partner and I are together for a majority of holidays. Christmas is the only time we're apart. Mostly because I only get to see my family at Christmas time. His family lives only about 2 hours away and we spend time there and they visit our place. My family lives in NC, we're in FL. I understand were you are coming from but like runlikehell said I think that's a bad generalization. I must admit that we are not out to our families, but it seems to be an unspoken thing were they know but no one talks about it. Yet they treat us no differently and both sides are very welcoming to us both. I don't think that determines our relationship as being weaker than anyone else.

I'm about 4 years late on this but I just read about Governor McGreavy's tryst with his limosine driver. The driver claims that they had threesomes with his wife. They'd go to TGI Fridays and after they'd have sex. They callled it their "Friday Night Special". LOL

Plus, the driver is pretty cute. McGreevy may be a cheater but he isn't that unattractive.

I let a guy know that I'm a bum before we date, I rarely every pay just because the guys I date happen to be pretty loaded. Not sugar daddy loaded(never had one), but way better off than me.

But I'm heading back to school and getting pretty close to finding a decent job to support me. So eventually I'll be able to afford a date.
