I don't see anything wrong with the cancer thing. It unfortunately affects a large percentage of people so I don't mind it being reflected in comics every once in a while.

Before the 52, I always thought the point of the Edge and the Dark lines was that they were DC was going to put all it's extreme violence or whatever. Of course, then the line launched, and it was open season on gruesome violence. So toning it down a bit is welcome.
This would be nice too. The DC Universe has gotten so grim.
You know what? Fuck it, it wasn't bad. Lets see where this train goes, at least for a little while.

They gave cancer to firestar back in the 90s, it'll probably be another woman- someone with great cans so losing one is a tragedy.

It's definitely going to be an interesting few months, watching people defend this as a victory on principle for Peter. And I can see that; I mean sure, Pete "won" by
using his memories and life lessons to "rewrite" Otto into promising to be a better (no, a SUPERIOR) person in a deadman's gambit. He basically guilt-trips Otto into changing his ways, and that's definitely something Spider-Man would do.
And in return, Otto gets a second chance at life he never earned, escaping his criminal past without any foreseeable repercussion, because everyone thinks he's dead. And he gets to do it in Peter's body, with Peter's powers, working at Peter's dream job, romancing Peter's dream girl, hanging out with Peter's amazing friends, and all for the rest of Peter's life or however long this lasts (what, a year? two?).
But it's okay, because Otto promised to carry on your legacy as Spider-Man, Pete! ...Well, sort of. He couldn't help but throw in one last vague insult, by kind of saying he'll be a become a better Spider-Man than you ever were.

Marvel would be stupid to not do a "get pete" arc sometime in the near future. Especially with those that he's really close with.
Going by the solicits and a Ramos page we've seen already, odds are that'll be the over-arching plot line of Superior.

Dunno, looks like (if they do the find out what's going on plot) it'll take about til issue 5 or 6 until the Avengers start to get suspicious. I've said it before, I'll give this whole thing six months to a year it won't go beyond that. Carlie gets suspicious around chapter 3 if solicits are to be believed.

Prediction: anything they're setting up in this initial phase of Superior Spider-Man along those lines, is going to end with
Potto keeping it together well enough that almost everyone's initial suspicions about him are disarmed, and the ones not fully convinced will be dismissed by the others as crackpots. Slott will be getting that initial skepticism out of the way in the early stories, to the horror of everyone.
I dunno, they might be hedging their bets. I feel like editorial is just talking up how permanent this is going to be. Putting new Spidey in so many books just screams "lets cut down on the time it will take for everyone to get onto what's going on", in addition to the hyping and free adverts. Either way it'll be worth to see where this goes.

A while back, googling stuff about the comics code, I ran across some 50s books themed after juvenile delinquency, not stuff american congress would later say that caused it (but they sure seemed made to piss off parents), but actual stories about kids on basements doing drugs, having sex and such (or at least it was hinted that this was what they were doing).
Now trying to re-research it, I find nothing. Did I dream it?
I am very interested in these pre-code comics about teenage criminals. If anyone can help me out, I'll appreciate.

With Superior coming out twice a month, I'm sure there will be 25-50 issues before Marvel wants too change.
Yeah. I seriously doubt we're getting a "Get Peter back" arc within the first arc of Superior. I see this lasting at least a year, which is ~25 issues, given that Superior is bi-monthly. Or when Julia Carpenter wakes up from her coma. I'm pretty sure she'll be key in bringing back Pete.

I've said this before, but this was especially mind-blowing as I used to live in Cardonald and had since moved away. I used to go to the school which would have been behind the characters pictured here.
Amazing Spider-Man #700 is the single worst issue of a comic published in 2012. It is the most creatively and morally bankrupt thing anyone has put out this year, and let us not forget that this was the year JMS was hired to write a Watchmen prequel. If you are still considering buying Superior Spider-Man after that, there's something seriously wrong with you because this is pretty close to everything that's wrong with modern comics. It's fucking appalling.

Retailers got the issue early, so scans have popped up. If I had any influence on how the comic industry works, this would be the moment where Dan Slott is so reviled he is forced into irrelevance, where he and Chuck Austen can work on shitty pseudo-hentai comics for eternity.

It does line up, but the synopsis spoilers had the advantage of not featuring Slott's terrible writing, which make every shitty part of that synopsis so much worse. And that synopsis doesn't deal with

I'm French. It's not like it's that big a cultural touchstone. But yeah? I guess that's pretty much an accurate statement. I mean, it's not life-changingly awful, but it's awful enough that ten years from now we'll remember it as the lowest point in Spider-Man history. I guess it's more a "go buy every single issue of The Ravagers twice to apologize for all the bad things you said about Howard Mackie" awful.
