I say it's the same dumbass line of reasoning. You're not "defending the attacker", but the one being attacked should just be used to it by now and just ignore it. Death threats, smeth threats, who cares! Just wacky comic book fans, hyuck

The entire basis of my argument is that it IS just wacky comic book fans.

I don't see why people are going nuts over this. Just like with the Death Of Superman storyline, Knightfall, Batman's magic bullet death, and the clone Spider-Man, the original Spider-Man will come back after a period of time. Maybe it will be in six months. Maybe it will be in a year. But it will happen.

if this is true, then fuck off Slott

It's not, or rather
Otto-Peter is going to start putting the moves on MJ, but is interrupted by Peter-Otto's breakout being reported and leaves to go play Spider-Man.

I also would have much-preferred
an evil Doc Ock in Spider-Man's body, wreaking havoc on the Marvel Universe. Having a (total) villain in the role would have been something really different.

Because comic fans are unfit to be Pavlov's Dog.

They probably continue to eat at restaurants that give them food poisoning in the hope it will stop.

Either way it's a good show. Like a fatter, more Buttery Honey Booboo, with male pattern baldness. :3

Everyone who's murdered anyone famous is "just wacky [MEDIA] fans".

Your line of reasoning is grotesque.

Is
"A Spider-Man villain assumes control of Peter's body for a long stretch of time"
really any more kooky than "We're going to turn all of Manhattan into spider monsters?" This style's been out and about throughout all of Slott's run. Doesn't strike me as anything out of tone.

I don't know why you're complaining about getting food poisoning, the restaurant has a good history and if you continue going there i'm sure you'll be happy and forget they poisoned you to begin with.

Sad but true. People know what's coming and still going for it is what makes this sad. Lack of integrity is a sad thing with fans in this industry

Or you just pretending to be a dumbass? Because you're really good at it

Man I'm just trying to say this is an extremely common thing in the internet age, and though he should obviously call the police he shouldn't get too worked up about it because it's almost certainly meaningless.

Not condoning death threats, not blaming Slott for "bringing it on himself".

EDIT: And constantly playing devil's advocate is making me look like a damn fool so I'm not gonna argue this point any longer, you're right and I'm being silly.

Oh damn! I'll focus on becoming the funnybook Gordon Ramsey.

Then I'll start a series where I shit talk your comics before helping reboot them.

"This art is shit! What the bleep were you thinking Benjamin?!"

Yeah! This is going places. :D

Spoiler warning, this is the opening scene:

*snip*

EDIT: Never mind. If you want a complete description, send me a PM. Or look for you know what.

That's not even the worst part with MJ.
The villain gets sent off to battle and murders the hero after getting a passionate kiss and an "I love you" from the hero's girl.

There's that, and there's also the fact that he hurls abuse at her, but she doesn't notice that anything is wrong and is more than willing to make out with Ock-Peter, which kinda sorta counts as super fucking creepy assault with rapey undertones.

That this comes from the same guy who found She-Hulk having sex with the Juggernaut to be absolutely unacceptable is somewhat odd.

Actual lines from "Peter" to MJ in the scene in question:

"I'm busy, woman. Go away."

"My head's filled with your trite pep talks."

"That's all you are now. The plucky best friend with the one motivational speech. What's the point? Why are you still hanging around?"

...and because Slott is a terrible writer, the scene ends not with
MJ suspecting mind control, or at least telling "Peter" to fuck off, but with MJ admitting her undying love for him and making out.
Gag.

A little food poison can be alright and help keep your life in perspective. You don't appreciate not being sick until you've spent a weekend spraying shit out your ass like a firehose.

Have I taken the metaphor too far?

But isn't that what you wanted???? No more of that
Carlie Cooper
bullcrap, we're getting back to what you keep saying you wanted! It's Spider-Man and Mary Jane! See? I AM DAN SLOTT! I AM A HACK!

Hopefully Denis Kitchen jumps on The Spirit and we get reasonably priced collections. The Spirit Archives were nice, but fuck $50 a pop.
In the link:

"While this means DC will no longer be publishing new stories starring these three, the publisher will retain the rights to The Spirit Archives 'for the foreseeable future,' according to Denis Kitchen, agent for the Will Eisner estate. In regards to most of the archives currently being out of print, Kitchen advised fans to 'watch for a press release in the not too distant future which might provide a clue.'"

I found a lot of all the warren/kitchen sink reprints for 50 bucks on eBay once. Those are the only comics that I'm never selling.

Electro cooler than Cardiac?

You're putting the retard agenda carriage before the common sense horse.

I remember hating cardiac so much in the early 90s because he seemed like david michelinies pet character that he was shoving in as much as possible and I just wanted to see venom. Then I grew up and found out venom was lame and cardiac was kinda cool. He was still david michelinies pet character tho!

Carlie Cooper
was so great.

Wait,
DID THEY KILL CARLIE COOPER

Only all of her brain cells to have the plot make sense.

Gag.

MJ's a ditz. It's pretty clear that
Carlie is going to be one of the people suspecting something's wrong after her exchange with "Doc Ock."

I actually liked ASM 700. And am looking forward to SS now. Like, great writing outside of the MJ moment but figured that will be addressed down the road.

Just wondering did Ock actually kill Scorpion? Doc Ock was surprised by how strong Peter actually was.

I am not in a hurry to read it. I am gonna probably buy a copy and then tear it up from the sound of it.

Slott's story from the issue has leaked yes. Reactions range from ElNarez's infinite rage and hate to "meh, it's not too bad". Still not worse than Sins Past though.

and Brand New Day/One More Day.

I liked more BND stories than I disliked. For the first time in YEARS, Spidey was fun to read; he had his supporting cast back, a killer's row of artists(Martin, Rivera, Bachalo, Jimenez, Romita Jr, Lark, Rios, etc), and the three times a month schedule mean you didn't have to wait long for a new Spidey story, even if you weren't feeling the current one.

As any book with rotating creative teams, it was very inconsistent, you never knew who was gonna pop up or what plot threads were gonna be built on or what the issue would even look like.

It has it's ups-and-downs, but several of the stories I think are some of the finest Spidey tales in 20 years. Largely a success in my mind.

Agreed (well, except for the "finest in 20 years" part - haven't read enough of the Spidey back catalog to qualify that).

Pretty much this. It was fun. Some stories didn't hit, but a lot of them did. As much as One More Day sucked, it paved the way for some fun stories.
