Vita PSN Game & Service Thread 2

It's every bit as fun as Guilty Gear, especially nowadays that they have fleshed out the cast of characters. A bit different, but that's not a bad thing.

I disagree. It's too slow, the "variety" in characters is both a gift and a curse (and leans more toward curse), and the story is a hot mess.

Of course, GG's story is just as much of a hot mess but easier to follow since it doesn't do alternate time-lines.

What's the best fighter? MK, SFxT, or Blazblue?

Of those three I would likely go Blazblue > MK >>>>>>> SFxT

but of course I like my fighters more playful than technical (aka I don't own a fight stick, and I tend to play fighters for challenge towers not to fight people)

Well I'm definitely getting on Vita so no fight stick. BB seems like the way to go...SFxT looks like a nice port tho.

Alright, I took the dive and got Dokuro for 10$. Gonna get Stranger too, but I'm gonna back up two of my PSP games to my PS3.. dunno why they're so HUGE (Genesis Collection and Castlevania X Chronicles, both are around 750 mb).

I've been waiting for a third person platformer on Vita so hopefully Stranger will scratch that itch. Uncharted was more of a shooter so I'm hoping this has more platforming elements.. either way I want to support the guys at Oddworld.

So what are the rules for the VitaGAF Secret Santa thing; I'm feeling like joining.

Basically buy a game(or two, depending on the price) in the range of $5-$10 on gamestop.com since they sell game codes. Then when the time comes, I believe we'll send said codes to Toma and he'll distribute them out.

Stranger's Wrath is more of a Action/Shooter game than a Platformer, but it's a good game.

Sorry to hear about Alundra btw, but yeah save often and note down secret locations you cant access yet on a sheet of paper.

EU should have January's PS+ games announced tomorrow (well, today - Wednesday). Hopefully some good Vita games :)

And still SCEA hasn't told us what we're getting for Vita at all this month.

All we know is this:

Leaving next week:
Vita Instant Game Collection – Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack

If I can only afford to get one game at the moment, which one should I get, Escape Plan or Dokuro?

My vote goes Dokuro.

Try the Escape Plan demo. Some people like it. I did not.

Starting to get a better feel for the sensitivity of the gyro for aiming in UGA, and it really is glorious. I can't stand the sticks (radius is prohibitively small for any degree of precision), but the gyro alleviates all of this.

I've always been a fan of using the gyro for aiming, but this is the first time I've used it for actual gunplay, and it's great (past experiences include Ocarina 3D, Star Fox 3D, and Nintendo Land).

How often do you lot download demo's? Because while I downloaded a few, the only I ever played was Smart As. I've still got demo's of Escape Plan, Rayman, Silent Hill: BoM, and Frobisher says installed but untouched. And I deleted the demo's of Dynasty Warrior's and Unit 13 without even trying them

I would go with Dokuro for no other reason than i see escape plan as a more likely PS+ title

i've been enjoying blazblue on the psp... though that likely has a lot to do with the stylish option which allows me to be a bad ass without having to do the work of knowing any moves >.>;

Why?

Yeah I'm pretty burned about that, I racked up a few hundred gold too, hacking away at those bushes. I know where to find stuff now so I can run through the stuff I got.. Now I have Dokuro and Stranger's Wrath though, so many games to play!!

I want to knock out these two stupid Motorstorm RC online trophies though, so I can start chipping away at the single player stuff.

Edit: Sorry Grim, didn't see your reply

Stranger's Wrath is more of a Action/Shooter game than a Platformer, but it's a good game.

It looks awesome anyway. So glad I got it.

I'm not a big demo guy. I've only tried rayman's, smart as, sine mora and dynasty warriors and got rid of them after 1 quick try.

I don't understand the point of this post at all. I'd imagine most people download demos of games they interested in so they can see what it's like before they buy it.

Just wondering as I downloaded all of them when I first switched to this accounts few months back, but I've never bothered playing them. I was curious how anyone else used them.

Yeah I get that. Just wondering how active people are with demo's on their system

No I mean why are you downloading them and never playing them?

Pretty much download every demo available (unless I'm completely sure of the game and buy it day one anyway).

The Unit 13 demo for example, I played the crap out of.

More Uncharted whining ahead:

(this might actually be applicable to the entire series, I'm not sure)

Beat a chapter on Hard and then re-played it on Very Easy to do treasure clean-up. Now I can't start the next chapter on Hard. So I guess I'll have to play it on Very Easy for the first time (ew), and then for the second time on Hard (lame).

This is messed up.

Er-You should be able to start the next chapter on hard. I mean it's not like it's locked like Crushing.

That said, if you can't, start the level you previous played on hard and then rush through it and start the next level on hard.

Though, really, next time ignore the treasures (or use a guide to make sure) and simply complete the game on Hard first so you're second/third run is on Crushing/mop-up duty for the treasures.

Can't you quit out to chapter select and change the difficulty?

All the time. How else are you supposed to know if you like a game, without actually buying it?

I guess if you have more money than time, it's no big deal, but for those the other way around, demos are great.

Sometimes they sell you on games you didn't think you'd like, too.

No I mean why are you downloading them and never playing them?

Well I usually only play one game at a time. I finish it, and move on to the next. So I only try a demo once I wanna figure out what I'm gonna buy/play next (do the same on PS3). I've never not had a game to play on Vita, so I've always known what I was playing next, although AC:L is currently my last for now and I'll figure out what I'm doing next afterwards.

I only played Smart As when taking a 3 hour train once, and never had a reason to try any of the other games yet, even if I'm kind of interested in them. As for deleting DW Next and Unit 13 without trying them, that was after I found out the first had annoying touch screen battles, and the second lacked a gyro for shooting. After how well I felt the gyro worked in Uncharted , I think I'd find it weird playing a shooter without it.

the problem is only completed chapters are available on the chapter select screen. So the only way I can access this new chapter is if I select "continue", and it's continuing from the difficulty I was playing on previously -- Very Easy. There doesn't appear to be a way to change it in-game.

Though, really, next time ignore the treasures (or use a guide to make sure) and simply complete the game on Hard first so you're second/third run is on Crushing/mop-up duty for the treasures.

I'm not yet sure if I want to play it again on Crushing. Plus there's so much shit to find in this game compared to previous Uncharteds, it's just easier to do immediately than have to worry about it later. For me, anyway.

I always tend to finish it on Hard, and then do my treasure clean up. I find it makes the whole experience more straight forward if that makes sense

Got my AC3 Vita set. LBP and P4G already gotten.

AC3 is soo good(wish it came with a case...) LBP is the best LPB by far. Haven't even touched P4G yet.

Is Sonic Racing good on Vita?
