Bioshock 2 - never played it. Kind of liked the first game, so I will give it a good run through. So good for me.
Mortal Kombat - Own the Disc version allready, but the game is fun, so I like that other people get a chance to play it.
Pinball Arcade - Pinball games are perfect on a handheld. So will definatly give it some quality time.
Middle Earth - I LOVE LOTR.. never played a single LOTR game .. so this will be very fun for me to try..
Store hasn't updated yet. Mortal Kombat today, Knytt on friday (two updates this week, no update next week)

BioShock 2 I played the single player and sold it, I guess this would be a good chance for me to go for that plat for the trophies remaining from the MP.
Guardians of Middle-Earth I dunno much about, what does GAF think about it?

Not that I mind, I'll probably get another year since they stack up, but they'll be discounting Plus non stop lately. Are there not enough subs or have they seen a surge in subs with the discounts I wonder.

You can add Big Sky Infinity on the "leaving list" in Europe. It'll be out of the Plus service on 30th January 2013.

I had £33 just sitting in my wallet doing nothing, so I decided to use it on PS Plus.
Hmm, tried Anomaly WE via NA PS+ last night and not loving it. I think it's more fun on my mobile devices. PS3 version looks great, but I like the touch controls better than the commander based gameplay.
Oh well. At least SSF4AE made me pretty damn happy last week.
Hopefully next week we get something really nice for the holidays.

19.99 is a tad high for a downloadable game since I feel I can look up the retail version for less than that, but it's Atlus and a "weird" game, so it's not gonna happen in a long time.
I Am Alive demo was fun, but would you fully recommend it? I might hold out on getting those until the 23rd or when we get the next NA update, but I'd appreciate any pointers on those.

Catherine is a great puzzle game. I have a physical copy for XB360. Personally for $20 or more I'd rather get physical copies of games, just in case you ever want to resell.
I went all digital on my Vita, spent hundreds of $$$ on overpriced Vita games (not to mention the 32GB card), and then PS+ came along and gave out many of those games for free and/or heavily discounted. Left me a bit cold about paying much for digital games in general. $10 - $15 is the most I would pay for digital games now.

Guardians of Middle Earth is enough for me, wanted it but didn't want to pay. Plus I'll still be downloading everything else as I have only just joined PS Plus! Got about 30gbs of games to download over the next few weeks! Plus I want a few other things on the store.
If you can get it cheaper than 19.99 via retail why even consider it? Unless you really want it digitally, there's no real benefit.
It's a great game. Quite short, but there are multiple endings and the story is great. Puzzles can be frustrating but oh-so rewarding when you conquer them. On the hardest difficulty I imagine it is tough, tough going.
Catherine is one of my favourite games this gen. Amazing gameplay and story. I think I've played through it four or five times at this point? It looks gorgeous and sounds great too.
There are something like seven different endings, and there's also a bonus game within the game which has something like sixty four levels. It also has a hilarious competitive multiplayer (Offline only though
) and an endurance mode which is bonkers difficult (But also has awesome music!)It's absolutely worth a play.
As a disclaimer, I am a huge fan of the Persona team, so I am incredibly biased.

I almost have 3000 points in Free My Apps, I wanted to use them towards iTunes account, but something tells me I will get 10$ off PS+.
Well, thanks for the suggestions people. Catherine retail version is still around $30-40 here and since I'm sharing the PSN+ account with a friend I might tell him to pony up with a $20 card if I get him to be interested in the game. Will give the demo another shot to see if I still like it.

Pretty ridiculous that they haven't announced the rest of the December content for NA yet EU already has their Jan calender up. I'm hoping NA gets Guardians, but with their track record we'll probably get some 2 year old PSN game... : /

For US Bioshock 2 and Rochard are decent for a month, even though I bought Rochard on sale already and beat Bioshock 2 on 360 already, I will give it another playthrough on hard before Bioshick Infinite. That sale is pretty bad though, the 360 December sale is better neither is great by any means though.
There's still a lot more to their sale. This first week was just a third of it.

My mate is busy with uni stuff so he doesn't want to dive into PS+ and all those free games right now, since he thinks he won't be able to have time to play them and won't be putting the subscription to good use.
But he's still tempted by the whole thing and the fact that the 1 year sub is 25% off in EU atm.
I want to find out: is it possible to simply buy the PS+ subscription now, but activate it later? Can you activate it at any point afterwards, or does it start as soon as you buy it?
If he could get the 1 year deal on offer now, but simply activate it after he's done with uni work, that would be perfect.

you are slightly mistaken...
the next two PSN updates for NA are the 24th and 31st... thus the second new game would be the 31st. (assuming there are two but it seems like there will be)
Activates as soon as you buy it. Could always just complete the transaction on the games he wants and not play them until uni work is done
To answer your question - yes, it starts as soon as you buy it.
Secondly - if he's interested in the games that are on offer right now, it might not be a bad idea to subscribe now and add the current roster of games to his download list. That way, there'll be no chance of him missing something he might've wanted because he was too busy with uni.
With the 25% off, it's still really worth it even if he's not using the service for a while. IMO.

Its just occurred to me that PSN+ could potentially really extend the life of the PS3. I mean, there's easily enough back-catalogue stuff to keep them going for another 3 years even if all retail game releases ceased.
