PlayStation Plus Thread: Plus What? PLUS EVERYTHING!

I very rarely play games any more, in fact according to my friend my last online date for the PS3 is over 6 months ago! But I'd like to get back into it.

Despite owning a few of the games, PS Plus seems like excellent value but I don't know if it's necessarily worth it for me - I really want the LotR game that's going to be available next month, but how long will it be available to play for? If it's only a month or so I'll probably pass

Thanks :D

You can play it for as long as you are a PS+ member. It's only available for members to download for a month, though. If you complete the transaction, you can play it and download it as many times as you want until your PS+ subscription runs out. If you re-subscribe at a later date, you can then play it again

Thank you so much for this - great to know!

If I pay £30+ a year to play Xbox online a couple of times a year, then £30+ a year for PS Plus is actually unbelievably good value.

(edit) And I'm subscribed! Thanks again Carl :) £29.99 is a great price, and it's stackable. Almost tempted to get two years worth...

Will likely get it tonight - though I find the PS Store to be a bit of a pain at times (hopefully it's changed since I haven't used it for a couple of years)

Thanks again Carl :)

You're welcome. PS Store recently had a revamp. In my opinion (and the opinion of many others) it's a lot worse now. But it's useable.

Again, you're welcome

I asked in another thread, and I'll do the same here.

Does anyone sometimes not bother 'purchasing' PS+ content? No interest in anything this month, and I'd rather not clutter my download list anymore

It's quite simple for me really.

- Do I have a serious interest in it?

Yes - download it and play it.
Maybe later - add to the list, don't download it, don't play it.
No - don't bother.

There are a few things that I know I'll never have interest in, and if that's the case, I don't touch them. Most else, I at least add it to the list, because you never know. I'd rather go through the hassle of a long list and finding it again than thinking 'oh man, I could really fancy playing xyz right now.'

Nope. Sony's download list is a mess to browse, but clutter is a minimal downside to giving up a freebie which otherwise takes no space.

In my mind there is no excuse for not at least 'purchasing' each game, even if you arent interested now what if you are later? What if your other half is? ect

And as for you dont want it cluttering up your download list, really? Its bad enough as it is without being able to search properly so adding any free games you get isnt going to make that much of a difference and even if it did its easier to re download something by just searching for it on the store, not your downlaod list.

How do you "purchase" plus content on Vita so it just gets in the history list? I always have to download them and then cancel since it goes automatically

Yay will try them out in the evening! But have to free 3,5GB on my 8GB card pfff
I was all exciting until I figured I'd have to free up some space too. I have a 16GB but still mad, playing through a lot of PS1 games atm and can't delete them... sigh

Yeah this is the only thing you can do I think. Alternatively buy through the SEN store if your region has it, or the PS3.

SEN store if it's been enabled in your region.

Cannot believer SSFIV is still downloading over 24 hours after I initiated the download...

It surprisingly finished downloading and installing overnight for me, when I initiated it before I went to bed. And that's only using the PS3's supposedly crappy wifi (which I've never had problems with) and on my 6Mb DSL connection.

We're announcing on Monday; same day as the PS Store Updates on these 2 next weeks since Tuesday falls on a holiday.

Ok, thanks.

Hope you guys figure out a better system soon though. Announcing the same day as the update is bonkers. If you're not going to do the Europe model of announce for the entire month, and I don't blame you, at least go:

Week 1: Announce
Week 2: Deliver
Week 3: Announce
Week 4: Deliver

That way you keep the service top-of-mind all month long, either in anticipation for the games, or in playing the games.
