I don't mind Alex. He reviews for the site so I think having him sit in on the GOTY discussions is perfectly valid. Yes, he can be a snarky dick but I think that's part of his appeal.

I like Alex, but him being a snarky dick is unbelievably annoying on podcasts; I honestly can't deal with him in any sort of audio or video format. If he's on the GOTY podcasts to any great extent it will probably prevent me from listening to them. Although I'm expecting another baffling Shoemaker filibuster where everyone but him agrees and he stalls for so long that they wind up agreeing with him which will have the same effect. After the last two years I put no real stock or interest in the GOTY podcasts because of that, I mainly look forward to the individual top 10 lists.

Anyone who's anyone is getting hyped for the Top 10 videos. The podcasts are just fun just to hear a bunch of guys talking in depth on games and ranking them like all us idiots just love to do. They're pretty silly in the grand scheme of things.

Urgh was my genuine reaction to a genuine question and the cunt comment was tongue in cheek in response to another tongue in cheek comment. He is clearly a bit if a cunt though and I'm sure he'd admit it in a hilariously sarcastic way as per his usual style.

And if he wouldn't I don't care as it proves my point ;)

Sure, but I really liked them the first couple of years. After the last two years I now legitimately dread them because I'm going to keep waiting for the category/game that someone is going to stonewall and I'm going to have to listen to someone (probably Brad again) try to argue against every other person on the team about for 30+ minutes. It's fucking infuriating; if within 2 minutes 4 of the 5 people in the room clearly feel game A is the winner, call it and move on, Jesus Christ.

Again, I know it's not really a fair point since most people have never met these guys in person. But I have and Alex is fucking nice as hell. He could not be further from being a cunt.

Put yourself on camera and have your voice recorded constantly, and I'm sure someone could pick you apart just as easily.

Well that's good for you but since I'll never get the chance to meet him I'll continue to judge him by how ge impacts GB content which is the only thing that matters to me in this discussion.

I'm sure he feeds his pets well, gives to charity and gives his missus many orgasms. Still crap on GB.

It's just hella boring to read. "Ughh not Alex again" who gives a fuck. I don't care what he thinks, I'm looking after number one here. Complain about his actions, like alright did, but pre-emptively complaining about him being on a podcast? The fuck is that?

Yeah he's a bit naff, but attacking the person instead of the writer/podcaster/reviewer/whatever is un-fucking-bearable.

I want to like the Giant Bomb thread, but it being full of annoying whingers is unbelievably annoying on Gaf; I honestly can't deal with them in any sort of text format. If they're in the GOTY podcast thread to any great extent it will probably prevent me from reading it. Although I'm expecting another baffling Foliorum "cunt" filibuster where everyone but him is having fun and he stalls for so long that they wind up agreeing with him which will have the same downer effect. I'm not judging, I've just never had that brand before. Generally, things in large quantities taste okay, but not that good. I take it that Guittard is a solid brand, then?

Gushing is fine- just not big on the opposite. Positivity should be free and boundless in form, and negativity should ideally be constructive and disciplined, so that all may appreciate it, rather than just those who agree with the opinion.

That's just my belief. I find my favourite threads on GAF happen to follow that mantra.

Anyway, probably getting a bit too deep for a discussion about me hating you hating a person who will never read this conversation and/or give a fuck about it, so yeah. Also, the thread got wacky again whilst I wasn't looking and I feel bad for interrupting it.

Alex hates GAF. I have him quoted as saying "Dude, I don't even go there" at this year's E3 podcast with Pachter.
