Looking back at the relevant posts, no one specifically recommended the Pro phone (there are numerous Optimus models that would've met the app's specifications, but not this one) and it really would've been smart to do a little research on your own before dropping the money on anything.

There's barely any information on compatibility and no list of supported phones so I figured it would work on any Android device. I asked here if older smartphones would run Grindr and everyone said yes. No idea that screen resolution would matter so much, they're all big screens after all.

Oh man, out of all cheap Android devices (and there are hundreds of them) you had to pick one with low, non-standard resolution. I don't think there's anything you can do about it. If the smartphone is rooted you can try installing an app that let you change screen DPI (which would increase the resolution of the screen), but I doubt there's any way to achieve the minimal resolution required by Grindr on your device.
Which smartphone would you suggest?
This is actually the first time in our 6 year relationship we won't be spending christmas together. We always do his parents, my parents, his parents etc. but they moved about 4-5 hours away and since my sister recently passed away he felt it would be better for me to spend the holidays with my family and i wanted him to be with his family since we spent last christmas with mine.
Going to try my best to go out to his parents and surprise him after we open presents and eat lunch at my moms house. What he doesn't know is that i am going to purpose.
I dunno, it's hard to say because there's a lot of different devices and you're looking for one just for Grindr. According to Grindr's minimal requirements you just have to look for a phone with minimum 320x480px resolution and Android 2.1 which should cover almost every Android phone that is on sale nowadays. As I said, you just picked one of the very few devices on the market with really low-res screen.
Also, for decent performance look for anything with at least 800mhz processor and 256mb RAM. Devices with slower processors and less RAM are still usable, but they can be sometimes frustrating to use (lots of lock-ups or lagging interface).

This was actually answered a few posts ago. Your app would have worked with just about any other phone on the market. This isn't my fault. You should have done a minimal amount of research.
Yeah it sucks but I'm looking at all the other 100 phones now and they all have 240x320 resolutions. Higher resolutions start at 140.

i've actually met quite a few really awesome people on there. Took a guy last night to this boardgame cafe with a couple of friends and had a blast.
The app itself is shit though.
My family has discovered, finally, that HylianGreg can cook like no one's business.. so he's teaming-up with Mom to do Christmas dinner. I've had relatives call me to verify that he is indeed cooking. They loved what he did for Thanksgiving, and now want *more*! Very weird.
Yeah but so far they all asked me to add them on Skype, then suddenly ignored me probably because I don't say a lot. Having a webcam phobia doesn't help much either. I'm just not very good at chatting online, I wish I could just meet people right away :/

Your pursuing this the wrong way. If your better at being social in real life then go out and meet ppl in real life by going to a bar/club/social group/sports team.

I know that's the problem and I've been struggling with it all my life. No matter how much effort I put in, I just can't be as talkative as most people. It makes me feel powerless.
Just the thought of going out alone makes my heart race. I've done that once and I got a panic attack. Wasn't able to say a word all night. Maybe I should start taking medication again.

Where do you live? And whats your home life situation?
I live with my parents in a city that has pretty much no gay scene. Have to drive half an hour to meet other gay people, but driving means no drinking or finding a place to stay.
