I am watching Jeff and Vinny fight Contrarian King... the P4 ER really is so much more entertaining once you've played the game.

Even though I have zero interest in 999 out VLR, that's a pretty cool thing for him to have done. I feel like the stuff he and Jeff do from home pays off, even if its just the "hey, I give a damn" factor.

LOL I just saw the link to the end of the year membership sales, and see that they still have some left... They should really advertise that better (alternatively I should check this thread better), because I just bought a yearly membership yesterday for the regular $49.99 price and I didn't even see this sale until now. Haha. That's just my luck. :D

Oh well, it's my first time as a premium member so I have a lot of good stuff to catch up on, and after all the hours of free entertainment I've had with GB I think they deserve it anyway.

Why would they surface the information when this is the exact scenario that they want?

I'm also plowing through 999 in part because December has no games and partly because of Klepic going from "anime is for jerks" to "... oh wow". Klepic has had a very similar taste in games to myself, so I was intrigued.

I'm currently on my third playthough after getting, in order,
axe ending and then submarine ending
. I am genuinely intrigued in the story, especially after that second one. Went from a game I was just breezing through puzzles and only seeing characters from their first impressions, to the game kinda just opening wide enough that I'm like, wait, hold on. I totally didn't see that coming. And I tend to be pretty good at working out how a story unfolds before it actually does.

I think the puzzles are a bit flaccid, though. They work, but only a few have been detailed enough to have me sit down and think about them. Too many of them I breeze through with just simple logical progression. I know why I can't, but god I wish I could skip through puzzles on return playthroughs. I know the end solutions just let me plop it in and go.

I've got the first puzzle down to a fucking science.

(This post, aside from the marked spoiler, shouldn't spoil a thing. But I'm not too in touch with what people could consider spoilers for 999 so if I've stepped into bad ground let me know.)

Where's the link at? And no kidding, information for the sale should be, I dunno, where you actually buy the memberships for starters.

I see though that it does not include a coupon for the store, which I did recieve. So I guess there's that. :P

I haven't used my coupon yet though. None of the t-shirt designs that it can get me speak to me. The 2012 members tee looks pretty awful in my opinion. How long are those codes good for? Might save it for something in the future instead if something cool shows up. Maybe the 2013 members tee will be awesome.

Whatever Tricky thinks about 999 in his spoilercast is gonna be blown away in VLR. He should do a followup spoilercast for VLR.

I totally agree. Really dug the Wii TVii thing he did a couple of days ago too. The airline lost my Wii U (with my entire bag) on the way home, so I couldn't check an of that out myself.

Actually Jeff and Patrick are my favorite GB guys. Vinny and Alex are pretty cool too but it seems lke they are rarely around these days and have less to contribute due to working on other stuff (website and video production).

Brad and Ryan are nice guys but they are pretty milquetoast in terms of gaming taste, critical assessments and personalities.

"intangibles, motherfucker"
I apologize, but I had to

They really should. I don't think I remember seeing it on the front page of GB at all (haven't been looking for it either, but still). I only saw it from someone linking it in here. You'd think they'd make a bit of a fuss about the sale, but it always seems so low profile. At least it's better than having it shoved down your throat?

You will definitely enjoy the premium member backlog! There is a ton of fantastic stuff, and I'm envious of you getting to see so much of it for the first time. : )

Jeff's latest Jar Time was great. I don't agree totally with his views on the GTA games, but such an in-depth breakdown of the series was great.
Yeah, I was really surprised by how excited he was about the series in general. Jeff never struck me as someone that really felt strongly one way or the other about the GTA games, but he seemed really positive overall on them. Made me want to replay Vice City, but I haven't ever owned it. Only ever played it over at my friend's place, and the whole "I never used cheat codes/did crazy stuff in GTA4 despite doing it in previous games" thing was spot on for me. We used to just do stupid crap all of the time in Vice City, but I never really thought about it in GTA4. Sure, I'd do dumb stuff right before quitting the game, but I just felt okay doing what the game normally presented me in it. Never really thought too much about it until he brought it up.

Just finished Sleeping Dogs last night. I loved it. I hope Vinny fights for it for a bit. Now I have 3 more episodes of The Walking Dead and Dishonored in my back log for GOTY contenders. I really need to get on the Walking Dead but it's not exactly a game to get you in the Christmas spirit.

Also, I can say for those of you who weren't really impressed with the first episode of the Walking Dead and possibly gave up on it, check out episode 2. Much more compelling episode in my opinion.

I thought it was podcast first then recap

Yes but Ryan thougt it was a good idea to wait for 5min before the deadline to upload the podcast and now his internet is down so he has to drive to Jeff's house to upload it. Great job there....ugh...ridiculous. The whole thing was recorded 2 weeks ago.

read Jeff's response to a similar comment in the GOTY thread.

looks like some weird limitation of their backend. either the stuff needs to be uploaded right before posting or they cant upload and hide stuff for later. it's not Ryan being lazy

Aaaah, no one said there was a Tricky 999 spoilercast! ;___;

This is what I get for going on vacation because I stopped paying attention to cool things.

They've thankfully solved this issue in the sequel so you don't have to do them again and again. And I felt like the puzzles in VLR were a little better than the 999 puzzles as well, so it doesn't necessarily feel like you're going through the motions most of the time.

It was Jeff's response to HIS comment in e other thread as well. The guy needs to chill.

Jumping off team Brad!

Watching Brad pick and defend ME3 is like watching a friend say their abusive spouse is a good person/their drug addiction is under control.

Just finished the 999 cast, and I enjoyed it! Glad Patrick ended up enjoying it enough to do a one-man spoilercast for it. His theories are so interesting. :3

I can't wait for Patrick to tweet and post a spoilercast for VLR, because that game is bananas.

Just got the (VLR)
___Luna___
ending last night and jksdfjkd.

Wait, people thought the 999 puzzles were bad? I thought they were fine for the most part, only had issues with single one (
pushbot 5000 or whatever it was called, the sudoku puzzle was the easiest one of the bunch
) Still watching the spoilercast though so maybe more will come up about this topic.

Is that the puzzle in the lowest point of the ship? That was the worst, so obscure.
