Broken record time:
If you *ever* think you'll need more space (and you probably need more than you think unless everything you play/buy is on a cart and you're not a PS+ member), I'd strongly consider a 32gb.

So many people in here have caved and gotten 32gb cards now.
Many people want 64 or 128 sizes.
And really, again, if you're spending $58 to get 16gb, whynot pay $22 more to get twice the space? :)

Wise words.

I had my 16gb for 2 weeks before I began juggling installs, 32gb makes life much easier but I can see the day coming when I'll be wishing for a 64gb + release.

Hey hey top of the page recommendations.

Vita = Persona 4 Golden
PSP = Lunar: Silver Star Harmony
PS1 = Breath Of Fire 3
PSN = Oddword: Stranger's Wrath

I'd like to buy Unit 13 but, my god, it's still at full price everywhere o_o

I also try to play with Escape Plain but the control system is horrible. When you have to drive the ballooned one it's like impossible :S

I'm assuming you're not in NA? It's $13 on PSN right now.

This is the source apparently

Considering the headstart, combined Mario+MK+MH releases (specially in Japan) and huge pricecut of the 3DS I'd say Vita is not that doomed.
2M+ (almost Wii numbers) in these main coutries that doesn't include most of the Sonyland regions like Spain, until its first Christmas I'd say it's ok.
With a proper pricecut, some great games more, PS+ at full and a bit of post Christmas word of mouth I'd say it's going to get good numbers at mid / end 2013.
I miss PSP, PS2, DS and WiiU numbers in the image btw.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news,
but Sony has canned the Vita
.

Not really, but Sony is barely selling past two million of these suckers. I'm not sure how reputable PS Vita Hub is, but I got this from their recent article.

Right now, I don't care. It's a great machine, I've had some great experiences on it, have a backlog to catch up on, at least a couple of games I'm thinking of buying (LKS and VLR) and more to come next year (eg EDF2017)

Is it true you can't have games from two different PSN accounts on one Vita? I have a ton of PSOne games on my US account, but I mainly use my EU one. I know you could do this on the PSP.

I believe more specifically it is that you can't have games from two different PSN accounts on the same memory card. I think there is a process for having multiple accounts each on their own memory card though I've never done it since I only use one account.

There's a retail version. It comes with promo codes for 30 days of the subscription service and some in game items including costumes from Phantasy Star Portable 2.

Crossing my fingers that we get the game at all, but if we do, I'm hoping there's a retail SKU. The combination of low capacity/high priced memory cards will kill this game's audience otherwise.

Easily looking at 4GB+ here, not even including patches and additional content.

dont bury my question please. If a not-very-dark gray (i'd say it's about 70% black... well, the color of the after-suspension screen with the gray sticker [the upper-left part]) shows the mura effect in a well-lit room, should I return the vita?

Congrats.

buy Persona 4 Golden (best JRPG of the PS2) and Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure (best 3D Zelda like game) from the PSP section.

also get the official stand.

and play games with your headphones.

Should I buy Persona 4 even though I haven't played any games in that series ever? Do you have a link to that stand? :)

Dokuro is surprisingly cool. But I'm confused as to why I have to use the analog stick for everything. At least give me an option to use the dpad.

So its like Final Fantasy where every game has its own world and story?

3 and 4 are interconnected, but not to the degree that would require you to play one to understand the other outside of some direct references here or there. You can start with 4 and not miss out on anything.

Watched a 20 minute video of the first part of New Little King's Story, looks good so I think I'm going to get it. For those that have the game though, how bad is the slowdown? One review referred to "constant slowdown", but in the video I watched, it didn't look too bad, even in the places where the reviewer was noting the slowdown. Maybe it's more noticeable in game than on video?

It is noticeable in some areas, and its pretty much unavoidable. Still, I love the game. Personally I recommend it if its your type of game.

Just got Sound Shapes 100%! Very cool game overall. Extremely stylish. Death Mode lets it down though. Not because it was that hard, I mean it took about 2 hours to do them all. But I just hated the luck element to it

Just bought it myself today. Been eyeing it for a while, but it seemed to expensive compared to normal Vita games. Should be fun! And I don't mind the occasional slowdown since I haven't really got an eye for framerate as it is

Because 32gb are a whopping 98€ on amazon. It's enough that I bend over for Sony for a fucking 16gb for 45€.

Import from Amazon.com instead of ordering from Amazon.co.uk. With the conversion, it should be reasonable?

Amazon.com has it for $81.58; that's 61.68 euros.
Not sure how immediately you need that card... might be worth the wait.

I was "lucky" to get a 16GB for $38 but I still hate myself for bequeathing more than $20 for 16 gigabytes of flash memory.

Well, I don't think I'll ever be able to buy a 32gb card now. I just bought a Playstation 3D monitor for $99. Every time I go to the store now and see the memory card I'll keep thinking "I got a god damn 3DTV with a free game for that price".

:0 wish TVs were that cheap over here

It's £349.99 on amazon right now

Well, after months of internal debate about whether or not to get a Vita, I decided that fuck it I'm going to pick one up. However, I won't be able to until tomorrow, so in the mean time I purchased the stupidly expensive 32GB card in order to make myself stick to it.

While the number of retail games I find appealing for the system are - at the moment - minimal, the downloadable stuff is what really has me interested (hence the purchase of the largest memory card available).

I haven't purchased a portable gaming device since the original fat DS, so I'm pretty amped. I'm thinking about picking up Gravity Rush along with it, or I may just pass up retail games and just try to go with some PSP/PS1 titles at first. I do hope a good bunch of the games mentioned in the OP make it State-side, especially Soul Sacrifice.

The slow down is pretty bad. I'm actually wondering if its also causing my battery to drain faster than normal when playing it. Despite the slowdown, I'm still enjoying it.

So what is this Dokuro and why isn't it in the EU store?

I feel a little better at blaming Vitas D-pad every time I fail a gem run in Crash Bandicoot :lol. PSP D-pad is better for my big fingers/hands. I love how chill the music is.

Well I strongly recommend looking into PS+ since you get Gravity Rush from there. Also there is some great PSP stuff you have missed. Every Vita owner should buy Tactics Ogre imo :D.

Get a year of PS+, Gravity Rush is free with that.

Ended up getting Smart As as a Christmas gift. Game is super fun so far. Really nice presentation, and the online stats go a long way in pushing you to practice the challenges.

That's madness! What kind of deal was it, may I ask?

From Sony's retail program. I help manage the electronics section at work and the game rep for my store showed it to me. You learn about a bunch of cool Sony promos, and the deals they put up occasionally are insane (They had their Pulse Elite headphones up for $30 (!!!)a few weeks ago). If you work retail ask your store game rep about it.

Another new Vita owner here

The lure of P4G was too great. It's coming with a 4gb card but I also bought a 32. Am I right in saying I can use a US or JP PSN account on the 4 and use my EU account on the 32?

haha wow, that's pretty awesome

yes indeed, and congrats

Thanks for the replies on NLKS. Realised I hardly ever put the Lovefilm subscription I'm paying for to use, so I think I'll rent it from there - by then if I like it it'll probably either be around the £20 price point, or on PS+.

So I've got a $30 Target gift card. What's the better use for it. Towards a physical game - maybe Lumines or P4G - or towards a PSN card to renew my lapsed Plus subscription (been lapsed about a year so I haven't taken advantage of any of the Vita stuff on Plus)?

PS+ and then P4G when you can. I reckon Lumines will be up soon on PS+.

Seriously doubt this.
So far, they've rotated in RCR and next up is Chronovolt.
Initial lineup slayed it, but the first month was not a good one.
I don't think we'll be getting a full retail title rotating in anytime soon.

Besides, Lumines is better as a DD game, IMO.

In the US I assume?

I'm in the UK, we got Mortal Kombat, Chronovolt and Big Sky Infinity this month and Jet Set Radio is the only one confirmed for January.

Unless Jet Set is the only game next month then we've had retail games every month.
