Mannnn. I was with this hairy as fuck gymnast a long while back...

Unf unf unf. That guy was like the energizer bunny. Stamina of Olympus.

Man, shorter hairy guys....gotta go, brb.

...
Where's the lube?

I think you sent that to me a long while ago but I had forgotten about it. It's great! Thanks.

Have you read the new saga by the guy who finished writing the books? It's call The Way of Kings and I think it has great potential.

I also read the first book of the Sword of Truth earlier this year (Wizard's First Rule, I believe) and while I did not exactly hate the book, I really did not like it. Has anyone read them? Does he get better or is it more of the same?

I can't be bothered reading his other works given his religious views on homosexuality.

It's not that I ban authors with offensive beliefs outright, it's more that Sanderson doesn't write well enough to pass the talent threshold I have established.

I was unfamiliar with his views and just did a quick Google search and found an essay he wrote in which he clarifies his opinion, and while it's certainly not pro-gay, it is at least tolerant, as opposed to, say, Orson Scott Card whose books I don't read because of his views on homosexuality (and heterosexuality and really just human decency for that matter). What in particular has Sanderson said that bothers you?

Since I'm disparagingly short, seems that I need to try to get into gymnast-esque shape. Hopefully once school is finished in March, I'll have time to actually go to a gym regularly.

2013 priorities: Rogaine on chest, ridiculous body goals, stop being invisible to guys. Hah.

So, everybody has gone out with gymnasts...

Does 1 yoga instructer and 1 dance instrcuter count? If not, then I haven't been with a gymnast.

I'll put it on my 2013 new years resolution. Bang a hot gymnast.

Your body is absolutely most definitely fine (from what I have seen in the Post New Pics thread and what I remember from the old Skype chat).

He views my existence as wrong.

Also, I'm not sure I would classify his beliefs as tolerant at all. He's only happy for gays to do what they want when it is within the boundaries of what he believes to be acceptable. His views are merely more insidious than Orson Scott Card's.

I've been talking with a spanish gymnast over gayromeo, he is hot as hell and friendly and likes me to some capacity... but he is like 400 kilometers away from me.. lol..:S

At first, the second gif was only an image of Will Smith dead on the floor. It was perfect, ha.

There's this ex-gymnast/now pornstar guy, Chip Tanner. His ASS... I couldn't.

I don't know. I view his being Mormon as wrong but that doesn't prevent me from appreciating his writing that I find excellent.
I read his notes on his essay. To be honest they are consistent with what I would expect from a Mormon. I disagree with him and I don't think that marriage should be left to religion, but from the point of view of someone who is a fervent LDS member, you could expect something much worse.

I do understand though where you're coming from, and I find your point valid. I didn't read and don't plan to read Ender's Game because Orson Scott Card is a douche (and that's putting it mildly). I guess I'm just picking and choosing my battles!Which bring me to another question: have you guys read good fantasy/sci-fi book which introduce LGBT characters?

There's Renly in Game of Thrones, but his role in the books is much smaller than in the HBO show

And Frodo & Sam in LoTR

The Steel Remains by Richard K. Morgan. And if you like it, the sequel The Cold Commands

Two of the main characters are gay.

The story isn't the greatest, but I found the prose to be amazing.

Also there are sex scenes. Whether that's a pro or con for you, I don't know, but I didn't mind them.

Nah. To be honest, I haven't gone out with anyone in awhile. I'm in northwest Florida outside a military base in a pretty conservative area, so most folks are closeted and are unwilling to be seen in public with another dude doing anything more than eating food. My kingdom for a gay dude in the area that's into gaming and is willing to commit to a date. I've been stood up several times and it's aggravating as hell.

Isn't there a FL GAF meet up soon? CUDDLE PARTY? Cuddle Party.

I know that area (camped on St George's Island along the bend a few years back). So many paranoid military guys.. :)

Wait...thus a trilogy?

Huh...
It was published in America as a single volume, but it was originally published in Japan (and I believe Europe) as three separate books. I don't know if I'd throw 1Q84 into the fantasy/sci-fi genre, but I also don't know if I'd recommend it.

He also isn't explicitly gay in the book like he is on the show. I read the book and didn't know he was gay until I watched the show.

I read the books after season 1 of GoT and there are enough side-jokes and hints that Renly is gay to the point that I thought it was obvious.

You say that now though, after having seen the show first. You knew what to expect going in, so the extremely vague hints were more obvious to you. I read the book first and it never even occurred to me that Renly might be gay.

I like Renly a lot in the books. It was an open secret the way I read it; the way the show played it in season 2; I didn't like. Season 2 as a whole was great but they did gimp the story telling quite a bit.

There's a piece of dialog between Jaime and Loras that clearly points at him having a relation with Renly. It's in one of the later books (don't remember if it's the third or the fourth one). But before that it is just subtly hinted.

Yeah I didn't realize either until I saw the show. To be honest it's pretty inconsequential. I was looking for fully-fledged gay characters. Not that Renly isn't but that's clearly NOT one of the main characteristics of his character.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll check it out.

I can't wait for all this holiday BS to be over with so I can get to the gym again and stuff. I haven't been able to go to my usual yoga class because I've been working like 35+ hour weeks for the past month and a half.
