Persona 4 is amazing though. Put everything else down and play it.

Name + avatar combo is confusing me.

Haha, I know. I love the SMT series, but I couldn't really get into Persona 3: Portable (played for ~10 hours). The game just felt more like a social sim to me. I don't really mind a story like that, but I was hoping for more varied dungeons/battle environments. So Tartarus just being a bunch of randomly generated floors that are all extremely similar, yeah, that was really off-putting to me.

Well, P3P sucks, but like you, I learned that too late.

Luckily, P4G not only has varied dungeons (many with quite "memorable" themes), but comes of less as a low-budget sim because Vita game cards have enough space for all the voice acting, cutscenes, and 3D environments of the original game, which P3P mercilessly neutered.

You know what one of my least favorite things about Vita is? Switching storage cards. You might as well not even try to do any organization whatsoever because as soon as you switch your card everything is scattered, and for some reason you may have five icons on one page, two on another, a couple pages full, another with maybe three, etc. It's frustrating and annoying and I hate it.

People should listen to Leona Lewis and get P4G (and just avoid P3P)

Motorstorm: Arctic Edge seriously not available for NA yet? Le sigh.

Sadly many great PSP games are not available on PS store(for an example Monster Kingdom: Jewel Summoner and Syphon Filter DM/LS) it really sucks :(

Goddamn, 2050 is hard in Wipeout 2048. Can't even manage to get a pass on some of these levels, have no idea how people get elite passes.

Aside from agreeing that the structure of the game is ideally suited to handheld gaming, I can't disagree more with this statement.

Despite my hatred for the words "imo" and "imho" (not directed at you michaelius, and more generally:its YOUR opinion? OH REALLY), I need to admit that I played RC for about... 70-100 hours this year which is way, way, way more than I played any Motorstorm.

I deduce that RC is the better game ;p

iOS game vs Rubber-band AI fests

I don't know if there is better or any winner here.

The winner is you toto!

You just won the grand prize for most toto statement on this page!

in all seriousness how do you not get banned sometimes? (This is not an example of that)

Duuuuuudette. iOS game? I DARE you to play anything like RC on an iOS platform and be as accurate as you are on Vita. This game absolutely cant properly be played without buttons. No. Way.

Is this like bizarro world or something?

Carl is pretty on spot with that statement. I am having a hard time deciding between GA and UC2, but its close.

So you are telling me that MotorStorm RC is not a lite mobile game but a console one and the PS3 MotorStorm games don't suffer from rubber-band AI?

just opinions

Second statement is true, first is not.

RC is full of quality content only possible with buttons. It's not 'lite' at all

Yep. Tons of content and you need to master quite a bit of gameplay depth to properly go for times on the courses. Any game that cant be properly played without buttons cant be a mobile game. Its like saying Megaman is a mobile game because there are tons of other 2D platformers on iOS.

I think you're being harsh on Totobeni. His year end top and bottom tens were well reasoned and presented, and although I like the first two Ps3 motorstorms, they are very rubber bandy (don't like apocalypse as it strays too far from the original premise IMO)

And I think you could totally do RC on ios. Doesn't automatically mean its shallow. I like buttons where needed, but I think you could pull it off with touch controls well, using zones rather than small buttons for instance. The top down racing genre works really well on iPad.

I'd love another proper muddy/jungly motorstorm but I doubt well get one unless Sony want a pretty game for Ps4 launch

Curious, did you play Motorstorm RC to compete for Top 100 scores? Because this would be IMPOSSIBLE on iOS without a stick and acceleration/brake buttons. You need a lot of precision and pitch perfect timing to play these games in that way and touch screen zones dont give that feedback needed for high precision taps, especially when you'd need to move between 2 different touch zones for brake and acceleration.

I agree about Totos top/worst 10 though. Those were mostly pretty well reasoned.

Mortal Kombat is really fucking good.

I am not even a fighting game guy but I really dig it.

And I am really liking Uncharted GA. Like many have said it feels like Uncharted 1.5.

A uncharted 1 style story with a little bit of Uncharted 2's style thrown in. Thats great. I would actually say I have been enjoying it more then I enjoyed Uncharted 3 outside of the tacked on tilt / touch screen / back touch bits.

Not sure if its because of the vita or just a derision by the developers but I like it isnt full of stupid exploding set pieces every 20 minutes like U3.

No, not that competitively.

I was trying to decide what to play next (bunch of games not started yet, and just bought VLR), and I've ended up replaying mutant blobs to get all the trophies.

As long as the handicap is the same for all players, competing for scores/times is fine.

I dont think I agree. It changes the nature of the game fundamentally. It COULD be an iOS "lite" game if you put such a game on iOS and work around the shortcomings of the platform, like slower speeds, maybe no break buttons (many iOS games use 1 button gameplay), but honestly? I cant enjoy those as much. As soon as you take away the precision through touch screen gaming, it either gets slower, takes away some options (one button gaming) or its more dependent on other factors. I partially replay a level 2 hours just to get my time right, and to add frustration to that because I hit the brake 0,2 seconds too late every now and then because I cant find the screen zone? Yeah... nope.

These games DO exist on iOS, but they are based around the device's shortcomings and I dont like them as much for that. Games from the same genre can still have completely different gameplay elements. Not every jump and run is an iOS/flash game, but those 1 button jump&runs are. Same goes for Motorstorm, which has similar games on iOS, but Motorstorm RC itself depends on buttons or wouldnt be playable as it is now.

Is Harvest Moon a flash game just because Farmville is?
Is Mario an iOS game just because there are tons of iOS jump&runs?
Are all 3D racing games iOS games just because iOS has Real racing?

The whole reasoning is flawed, no matter how you look at it. A properly made console game based around buttons will always be a different game from a game that is based around touch screen gaming.
