Now that the game is just one month away from release it seems Nintendo thinks it's time to start building up dat hype. They have been periodically updating their facebook page with character info, Marth's being the latest, so I'll be updating the OP as more characters are added. Hopefully they'll heavily market this game with TV commercials and whatnot.

Hey Fire Emblem fans! We’ll be spotlighting some of the main characters in Fire Emblem Awakening a few times a week until the game launches on Feb. 4, starting with Chrom. The prince of Ylisse and descendant of the Hero-King, Chrom leads a band of soldiers called Shepherds to defend the borders of his kingdom.

Today’s Fire Emblem Awakening character spotlight is Chrom’s lieutenant, Frederick. Frederick is a Ylissean knight who is sincere to a fault. He demands tremendous effort from the other Shepherds who fight alongside him to defend the borders of Ylisse.

Lissa is our Fire Emblem Awakening character spotlight today. Chrom’s tomboyish little sister, Lissa, joins the Shepherds and fights alongside her brother to defend Ylisse from Plegian bandits.

Our Fire Emblem Awakening character spotlight continues with Marth. Appearing in Fire Emblem Awakening as a masked knight, Marth carries the legendary Falchion sword and appears out of nowhere to save Chrom and the other Shepherds.

Emmeryn from Fire Emblem Awakening is the holy ruler of Ylisse and Chrom’s older sister. She is gentle and kind and believes in peaceful negotiation even when her kingdom is threatened by the Plegia invasion.

Our Fire Emblem Awakening character spotlight is Sully. A no-nonsense, capable Shepherd who is admired by the other Ylissean women for her strength.

Stahl from Fire Emblem Awakening is a Shepherd with a big heart and a good head on his shoulders. He is very attentive and kind to others.

Today we’re spotlighting Vaike from Fire Emblem Awakening. A Shepherd who considers himself Chrom’s rival, Vaike has a loud personality and more confidence than his ability warrants.

Miriel from Fire Emblem Awakening is a Shepherd who adores her research and obsesses over her studies. She’s quiet and organized but can be tough towards people who are careless.

Kellam is our Fire Emblem Awakening character spotlight for today. He is a Shepherd whose infamous lack of presence makes him seem invisible to others.

Sumia from Fire Emblem Awakening is a klutzy Shepherd with a lack of self-worth. She has a talent for working with animals.

Lon’qu from Fire Emblem Awakening is a swordsman raised in Regna Ferox. He’s usually cool and curt with most people.

Donnel is our Fire Emblem Awakening spotlight today. A villager from a remote corner of Ylisse, Donnel came to the fight with just his farming experience but he is eager to learn and shows a great deal of promise.

I think it's weird that NoA decided to spoil Marth before the game is released but I guess we all knew anyway.

Very approachable. There are multiple difficulty levels, and this game is the start of a brand new continuity. (Unless you want to get into super technical/rampant speculation land.)

Also, this game is like a love letter to the series with tons of cameos, returning features, etc. So it's a perfect introduction to the series.

You must just be talking about Lissa's wireframe thingy. Apparently that's an actual thing people wore. The rest of their outfits look fine to me. Frederick is all snazzy.

Excellent! I really like the artstyle.

The armor reminds me of Shigenori Soejima's Stella Deus designs.

More than that though I really like the transition of the style into actual gameplay graphics.
The movement of the characters pops like the old sprite games and the overall look is very pleasing.

He's always been that guy in the mask that looks sorta like Marth to me. I never made the connection.

EDIT: FUCK. I got curious and went to Wikipedia on Marth. Got spoiled big time. God damnit. Commencing total shutdown before the game get released. FUCK.

I've been spoiled on some of the plot already, so I won't say more. Other than I agree that it's odd they promote him like this. Well, other than name recognition, of course.

You got it right. "Wait, what? How?!" is pretty much the intended reaction from revealing Marth early. Getting people to buy the game to find out the answers to that is the point here.
