So... what's the best looty dungeon RPG for Android? Roguelike or action is fine. Pixel Dungeon is polished and promising, but it's a WIP with five levels.

No Dungeon Hunter 3, please. It's a mashy beat 'em up.

Try Delver. Really charming rogue-like lite

I am new to smartphones in general and ended up getting an android.

So far I have been loving all of the free games and after finally playing stuff like Angry Birds and Cut the Rope I am wondering if there are any free hidden gems.
I just got all 5 Zenonia games for free I think (Lite version for 1) but are there any other big name games that might be buried in the top download section of the store?

There are just way too many at this point. You can pretty much randomly pick a page in this thread and you'd find some games that you like.

That's exactly what I would recommend because it's what I've been doing this week since I finally got a more capable phone for games.

My SD card isn't here yet, so I didn't buy or do anything drastic...

...but that said, Knights of Pen and Paper and Dungeon Village (I think that's it's name) are really really fucking awesome and I dig the art style and vibe.

When the SD card gets here, I can finally download Bard's Tale (already bought, but not enough room) and buy GTAIII. Is Vice City coming eventually?

Btw Majesty and the expansion is on sale for a dollar each. Great strategy/rpg type where you manage the town and the heroes do everything else. Set up guilds/shops etc and point them to the objectives.

Great games on PC and work pretty well on Nexus 7.

Vice City is available now. Check the web store if you don't see it listed on your device. It's not available for my phone yet but it is for the previous version of this model which isn't as capable, but a different chipset, so they may still be working on compatibility.

On man I just spent like 20 hours on dungeon village by kairosoft. I may need to do pick this up.

How is it compared to Dungeon Village?

I'm loving DV right now, but many of the reviews say that after you build your village and get your 5 stars there isn't much else to do except wait for the characters to level up to max.

I can verify this. I 5 starred my town bought every building and got access to all items. I have more money than I know what to do with and I can't see myself playing anymore.

What's the best dirt bike challenge game? I downloaded Moto X Mayhem but I was wondering if there is better.

It's not a very Kairosoft game. But the passive element is similar. Dungeon Village is like a limited Simcity+a passive jrpg.

Majesty is more like Age of Empires but instead of controlling the villagers/warriors you build the village. Make a Fighters Guild, Populate it with 4 fighters, Build a market(so they can buy potions etc), Build a Blacksmith(so they can upgrade equipment) and just watch them roam around and kill stuff and do missions. When they do they make money for themselves which they spend in town and you build more stuff.

It's just very satisfying to watch you little guys grow and do stuff on the map. And there is a lot of missions with replayability, especially with the expansion too.

Majesty is a great game. I got it on iphone a while back and it works great on touch screen. I might pick up the expansion on my nexus 7 if its on sale.

Think of an RTS where you dont control your units. Instead they do there own thing. You have missions to complete and if one is to destroy certain things you can put down bounties to temp your hero's to do certain things. You also get some spells you can use yourself to help them out.

Its missions based as well so its not like a sim management game. The building range is more in-line with your typical RTS.

Recently beat and very much in love with Sword and Sworcery. Great retro visuals, amazing music by Jim Guthrie, nice simple plot, and a gameplay mechanic involving the moon which may either be enjoyable or frustrating depending on how you see it. Controls are sloppy though, movement can be frustrating and slow, that's my only complaint.

There's a new point and click adventure called The Great Fusion out. Has anyone tried it?

Looks good. Glad to see more of these hitting Android. It's one of the few types of games that works as well on a touch screen as it does on a PC.

Well, I found my new crack addiction...

https://play.google.com/store/apps/...51bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5yd3MuZHVuZ2Vsb3RGdWxsIl0.

There is a demo, but I only had it installed for 30 seconds...I dropped the buck and have been hooked since.

I decided to try it out and suddenly 15 minutes had passed. Just one more level. Death saved me.

I really like it, but the repetitive nature is getting to me.
Mobile gaming just doesn't work for me :/

Oh, I agree completely...mobile gaming is on the low end of the totem pole for me too, but I love these types of games in general and I usually have at least one or two mobile games on my tab and phone just for 'distractions' when I feel the need. heh

Otherwise my face is buried in my 3DS. :P

I wish Sword & Poker would make the crossover from iOS to Android though...brilliant game no matter what the platform.

I don't play games like that in long stretches or daily for weeks in a row. It's something I'll pull out when I'll be waiting for an indeterminate amount of time, maybe 3-20 minutes, like if my girlfriend is trying on some jeans or if I'm waiting on the platform for a train. I don't like to pull out something deeper if I'll end up putting it back in my pocket after 4 minutes. The repetitive nature doesn't get in the way in those short bursts.

Hey, is there a list of games that are compatible with a controller? Just got an adapter to use my wired Xbox 360 controller, but I don't know all the games that will work. Any help on that front?

Finally got round to playing beril's game Gunman Clive, excellent game. Heavy on the mega man but great in its own right and has a really cool visual style, nice classical platforming with some tough and fun bosses. No checkpoints but that just means more replayability :P In short, it's charming but can be frustrating..which can be a bit of a good thing..going back to do the levels in hard mode as well.

Anyone play Dueling Blades?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVEHq04lhYI&feature=youtube_gdata_player
Its a free to play duel game with practice, story(bot matches) and online multiplayer. Its turn based combat that takes into account position, attack direction and attack type. Lot of minds games and prediction to go on. Runs well and looks great. The story mode uses that energy system so many in app purchase game use but the online PvP is unlimited. Customization is decent and I have got pretty good gear and haven't spent any real money. The game play is really unique and the game is addictive.

So I bought FPSE and I must say I'm very impressed with its performance on my phone. It's a single core 1ghz xperia with 512 ram. Modest specs by today's standards, but the games I tried run great! 2 euros well spent!

Just playing Rebuild after so many people here recommended it...

The default difficulty is so easy it almost became tedious after a while to capture all of the buildings, a formality with absolutely no danger, but my most recent playthrough has gone completely the other way, like a constant and never ending battle that I just can't win.

It sounds like I'm being fussy no doubt, but when you have relentless zombie attacks every other turn, and it's winter (snow = farms don't produce food = everyone starves unless you constantly scavenge and eat your own people) it's actually impossible to get a strong foothold to develop your town again.

Massive potential and does a lot of things right, but for me it's a real disappointment...

So I just got a new Samsung Galaxy Nexus...
I am wondering if you guys can suggest great Android exclusives?

Don't tell me about a game that's available on IOS, I already got an Ipod4.

So god damn weary about any PVP game on mobile that's free. You just know IAP will completely unbalance it.

Then again I usually quit these games after a week so.
Still trying to figure out where mobile gaming is for me tbh.

There really aren't many worth mentioning. The only things that come immediately to mind are Kairosoft's newer games - I really liked Kairobotica in particular, and Beastie Bay is free if you're unfamiliar with Kairosoft's stuff. The Pyraplex just came out but I don't know anything about that one. AFAIK none of those games are on iOS yet.

I can't believe I haven't seen this thread before. You guys rock!

So I'm not a new Google Play/Android guy, but relatively new to wanting to game. I previously saw Chrono Trigger on the market, but haven't seen it since. Does the market change what is available to you based on compatability?

Also, any other RPGs worth the money? I was looking at Bard's Tale or FF 3.

Oh, I'm on a GS3 if that matters.

Its really not too terrible. Its a time vs money investment I haven't paid anything and have good year already. Also the way the game is played playing smart will beat out gear most of the time.

Hey,
I just bought Game Dev. Story and started it. Nice game so far, but a bug has stopped me from playing it now.
I'm pretty early in the game (coding my third game now) and got a fan-letter. when I read it and want to close the window,a system window pops up saying: " Error - An Error as accoured" and the game closes.
Phone: Nexus 4

Any Idea?
