Fiction and Marrec are siblings.

Marrec and Featheredkitten are a couple.

Apparently there is another sister trying to get an account??

Is she? I didn't know that, she didn't mention it when we saw her over the winter break. My brother's wife also has an account on here, but she doesn't post that often.

I know there's another sister because I almost added her by accident when I was Facebook creeping Fiction!
There's another brother as well, but he doesn't use his real name on facebook.

Jeanne D'Arc is really fun.

The PSP was such a great system for strategy games.

The PSP was a great system for a lot of things. As a lover of wacky Japanese niche gaming, it was like a warm blanket on a cold winter's day. I'm just not sure what make me sadder: the fact that the PSP wasn't as popular as it deserved to be, or that the PSP's popularity might end up being higher than the Vita's. :(

It really is a shame the PSP wasn't more popular but it turned into a hell of a system which is all that matters in the end. Gawd the first time holding a PSP was so impressive.

Even imported one of these:

I must admit I've never gotten the appeal of "real gaf" but eh, I'll try anything twice. No you're stuck with my ugly mug for a month. hahaha!

She registered, waiting for approval I think. I don't use my real name on Facebook either, but he went much farther in that direction lol.

I enjoyed the PSP a lot more after it got hacked. It had a good GBA emulator and you could convert any PS1 game to play on it (barring any odd emulation issues). I might want a Vita once that happens on there... D:

When will you be off holiday?
The 12th? I think?

It's all about LoL.
LoL is so much better, but no one plays it anymore :(

Now there is the face of a man who has seen many things.

EDIT: GODDAMN IT CRUNCHED THAT WAS MY LINE.

Personally I way prefer DOTA 2 and on GAF most people seem to agree. But people seem to prefer LoL only when they have played that first. And DOTA 2 is still in a beta version and should be quite a bit more accessible when tutorials and such arrive officially.

Not played DOTA 2 yet, but I guess I will have a go tonight. I've yet to download it even. How similar is it to LoL?

Well, the basic mechanics are the same. Towers, two teams, five heroes, jungles etc.

However there quite a few different mechanics. You can't teleport for free back to the base, lose money when you die, can spend money to respawn, have a courier that can deliver you items when you are on the field. And you can attack your own minions to make sure the other team does not get the gold.

But the most major difference between them is that in DOTA 2, you start with being able to pick all the heroes and you have nothing outside of the game that influences your heroes (runes, masteries and those skills such as flash) so it is not inbalanced by paying money.

Skills also can be way stronger and battles therefore are usually shorter. Also they can use up a lot more mana so spamming spells is less the case here.

There is a large amount of other changes (the shop system works a lot different for example) but the basics are the same. It will take some getting used to though depending on how ingrained everything from LoL is.

And DOTA 2 is so much prettier. :3

Quite informative, thank you.

I've only had a few games of LoL, so I will probably have no clue what I am doing in DOTA. I sort of know the basics of LoL though.

I've added you.

DOTA 2 was completely unplayable for me, despite the fact that I played the original DOTA pretty much non-stop for 3 years. Everything felt and looked all wrong, it was like motion sickness or something except for MOBAs. Having said that, I've still only played a handful of games, should probably play a few more before completely writing it off.

Sadly, LoL, which I quite enjoy, is also unplayable for me, but for different reasons. My old account on the NA servers is too laggy to play on, tried EU and had the same experience. I suppose I could try the SEAsian version but no idea if that would work. Also couldn't be bothered to work my way up to lvl 30 again.

Online gaming over here (China) sucks in general, thankfully I never much cared for playing online anyways.

Well, I've only recently started playing RTS games. It is a big learning curve for me because I've never really been interested in them before. LoL was the first RTS game I've ever played competitively and that was only for one session really. So I still have very little idea of what I am supposed to be doing. I just know the basics. I guess in terms of playability, I don't really know what to expect as I have nothing to compare it to,

LoL and DOTA are not RTS games though, but only a subgenre of it mostly referred to as MOBA. You only control one character, while in most RTS games (Command & Conquer, Starcraft, Company of Heroes) you control an army and multiple units. Also they have base building usually which is not an aspect here.

At this point MOBA games are closer to stuff like Diablo in controls than they are to their RTS roots.

Okay. As I said, it is not the sort of game I usually play so I am totally ignorant of how that particular genre is labelled. Now that you've explained it though, I understand exactly what you mean. I have played RTS games in the past, but for some reason, they've never really clicked with me..

I kind of want to do this but I've been looking as bad as I feel lately and I can't think of anything funny I can do as a substitute.

Maybe I can pose with my stuffed Pokémon or something.

Dat annoyance when you're sifting through clothes just out of the dryer for socks and you can't find a pair to any of them. :<

try to wear one of each color you will be suprised but nobody notices or seems to have the guts to tell you have mismatched socks, i know because i made empirical studies on the subject.

Well that was a terrifying 10 minutes. I forgot that we were supposed to check the support mailbox every 15 minutes, realised 4 hours after getting here, then couldn't add the damn thing. Fortunately it's all sorted now and there wasn't anything for me to respond to. Thaank fuck.
