Good lord that Skyknight art is awful. "Behold my nonsensical rein placement and metal crotch!"

I guess with Crypt Ghast you can ramp directly into Griselbrand if you get to untap with it.

Talk about an overcosted counterspell.

That Legionnaire has some comic book porn star tracing shit going on.

Also, reprint:

Pimping the old art foil legionnaire in my peasant cube and that doesn't seem like it's going to change. Awful

Draining Whelk was a valid win condition in its day.

This new counterspell is better. It'll see play, and will be countering thundermaw quite a bit.

Converted mana cost doesn't count X. Revelations CMC is 3.

It does count X when it's on the stack, so he's get an 8/8 in that instance. It counts the X when on the stack, everywhere else the X defaults to 0.

Edit: From the Comp Rules: "202.3b When calculating the converted mana cost of an object with an {X} in its mana cost, X is treated as 0 while the object is not on the stack, and X is treated as the number chosen for it while the object is on the stack."

Looking for that reminds me of how long it's been since I last read the Comp in full. Goddamn is it dry.

Destroy target creature. It can't be regenerated. That creature's controller puts a 3/3 green frog lizard token into play.

That skynight art is embarrassing jesus. Definitely making some worst art lists. It's too bad because I always thought it was a great common.

A player (not creature) with an enchantment that gives them shroud will still be hit by spells that hits all opponents (like skull rend) correct? And things like guttersnipes ability and lobber crews tap ability?

I'll check that out thanks. I was just mulling about new deck schemes.

EDIT: It seems to be a mythic rare. That'll be interesting to track down.

It isn't. The original version was a rare. The FTV:R reprint has it at mythic rarity, but it is not a random product.

Anyway, you can just buy it for like 15 bucks or something off your favorite site

I was googling around looking for the winning decklists for the grinders for GP Denver (it's legacy, so I'm extra curious to see what won them), and came across the coverage and Gerry Thompson's winning decklist from a GP Denver a few years back. Hugely nostalgic for me, since I absolutely loved playing Toast and variants in that Standard era, and I'd bet I played Thompson's exact list for a while. It really was a lot of fun for me, despite the infestation of Faeries in the format. Seeing the Day 2 deck breakdown (consisting of Faeries, Kithkin, Doran, Toast, Merfolk, Jund, Sligh, UB Control, and Elementals) particularly brought me back. I hated constantly fighting Faeries, but man I miss that standard format and playing at the store I was at so often. Such a fun format.

Won FNM last night with the BG Kibler deck. That thing is seriously fun to play.

1/4 Searing Spear

SCG is streaming tournaments again today.

Grand Prix Denver (Legacy) should be streaming today as well. Though personally I find Legacy dreadfully boring to watch.

So im looking to build a deck with at least the colors white and green (more can be added).
I haven't played magic in over 8 years or something so im not really updated with all current cards.

Anyway i've looked on different sites and found some current decks, most deck lists differ so much i dont know what to take as a guideline.

So anyone here has an idea what's fun to play? (WG+) (im only using it to play casual, so type 1, legacy etc is all good). I would prefer it to be an aggro kind of deck, also im on a budget 100$ is absolutly max, i would like to spend less (those Naya decks looked cool but they have some really expensive cards).

Thanks in advance!

You could try a token deck, perhaps using the 'Selesnya Surge' intro pack as a base. Get more token production such as Parallel Lives, Moonsilver Spear and Increasing Devotion, a bunch of Intangible Virtues, a few more cards with populate such as Trostani, Selesnya's Voice, and you're set.

If you want to go outside of Standard-legal sets, there's loads more - just to name one, Rhys the Redeemed can double your token army each turn (though it's a bit on the pricy side compared to the other cards I mentioned).

Mind sharing?

Sure man, I don't have it anymore or a list written down but the gist of what was in it was this:

Stormtide Leviathan
Spreading seas
Coralhelm commander
Quest for Ula's Temple
Preordain
That one bird that Scrys

Various other flyers and island walkers from Zendikar block. Many were merfolk. It was pretty casual, but fun. Could be made loads better with some legitimate constructing.

Some sort of land disruption would be good for todays standard, there are going to be some mad greedy mana bases after gatacrash I think.

I'm already playing a deck with a mad greedy mana base, and yep. Land disruption would shut it down something fierce.

Bant, full of spells with double white/green and cackling counterpart which is double blue. Fun fun.
