I live in Rio de Janeiro, it does not happen all the time, I've actually had great times in this place, he might have been a prostitute but I really didn't thought about it until later. I'm pretty much terrible at picking up cues or anything social related for that matter.
Where did you meet him?

JeFfRey, it seems rather silly to make a point of acquiring a disease that you don't actually want to have in order to not worry about potentially getting it.

(Meant to be a PM)

I didn't get a chance to come up this winter... maybe in February or early March? We'll see!

And where is the picture you're using for an avatar from?

Does anyone here go to church? I've never been religious, but I was looking into churches recently (since it seems I can't throw a rock without hitting one), and there's a prominent Unitarian Universalist church here that looks interesting. I've never been to a church outside of tours, funerals, and weddings, so I figure that even if it ends up being unbearable, it'll be something different.

how about something in the middle, like a professional rugby player??

If I had to go to a church it would some sort of UU church, but by that point any dogma is so watered down it amounts to a 'be nice to others' religion. Once you go that far I don't really see the point outside of it being a source of social support.

Yeah, I understand and agree, but social support in a giant, beautiful building honestly sounds good to me, and it's something I've been thinking about for a while, so it'd be interesting to at least try it out.

Yeah, if that's what you are after it's probably perfect. Give it a go, as you say, the worst that happens is you get bored for a bit.

So. When do you say 'so...it's been X weeks/months'...do you wanna see anyone else in the future or become exclusive?' Also, accepting suggestions for how to not say this so clumsily.

(it's been 3 weeks; dude's amazin'. I know, still real early. But I have no idea how people think anymore, after getting burned with assumptions one way or another in the past).

I don't think there's any set timeframe. Just ask him when it feels right. :)

Just tell him how you feel, and that you would like to see him exclusively!

Well, homo labels are sure confusing.

Yes they are. I just roll with whatever sounds right, and every category can be a subcategory of something else. So you can have daddies, bear daddies, muscle daddies, muscle bear daddies etc. Muscle twinks I think would struggle to exist.

Muscle bears often have a bigger stomach than DarthWufei, but they can be amazing.

Maaaaaaaaan, abs really don't matter. Not that his stomach is bad or anything, I think it's perfect.

Speaking of big guys. I went on my first date every with a guy bigger than me. It was amazing. He's 6' 230~ lbs, very lean. Competed, now does grappling and just weightlifting.

Yeah, we fooled around, I couldn't help myself, but we actually kept talking and even went out for dinner after. I about fainted when I saw him shirtless, dude could easily be a fitness model.

Physical attributes aside, he's also a very sweet guy. He said a lot of bashful, sweet, things to me all night. Macho attitude, but not afraid to share his emotions, especially good ones. Was extremely sexy. Huge fan of cuddling too. He just wanted to lay there and hold me all night.

Can't wait to see him again!

No, man, I'm pretty sure abs are the best thing ever. Not that I have them, lol, but I find them insanely attractive.

Congrats, hope it goes well! Sounds like a keeper for sure.

We've got skype. Feel free to add me (anyone): technicolor.sai is my username. Just let me know that you're a gaygaffer and what your username is.

My mom is very active in her Unitarian church, she was attracted to it because of its encouragement of members to find their own beliefs. She's Wiccan and dad is mainline protestant. Definitely gay friendly.. the whole church protested the anti-gay marriage amendment in North Carolina.

My new years goals. Abs, muscle gain, last year to be too slutty, settle down with a guy near the end of the year, pay for a date, etc. . .

I don't know how it is in the US but in the UK if you're only seeing one another and nobody else anyway, it's sort of an unspoken thing regarding exclusivity. Maybe it's just the politeness of us Brits.

you should never assume exclusivity :) even if you're a Brit, there could be time when you're looking to see other people, but just haven't found the next one yet ;)

I'd like to assume this is true in Australia too, but for the most part it's probably worth a conversation.

What the hell is going on in here?!

Small towns = fewer options. Downside of being a minority.

I like how you almost never post and when you do, it's usually a gif.

Sorry I've been reading popgaf (I don't even like pop) recently and they taught me how to only speak in gifs.

Still <3 you though!

<3 you too sshhhh don't tell Graham

I think he means wide and big shoulders and narrower waist.

What you're thinking of are the iliac crest muscles and it has a lot to do with genetics, true.

oh, alright, it makes sense. I remember friends saying "wow, awesome V shape there" when looking at other guys and meaning the lines to the sides above the crotch and under the stomach, that's why I thought he meant the so-called "adonis belt"

Does anyone here go to church?

Church in Germany is AWESOME, I went there on Christmas night and they had a full orchestra with a choir and sang parts of Bach's christmas Oratorium. The priest made sense and his words were soothing for the soul and all things said, I had a great time. Will definitely go again.

Churches here are a sight to behold too, I always remember those church chapters in Eternal Darkness XD.. I know, pretty stupid but I can't help it.

another one here. I like that he is actually gay, ginger and a nice guy

Mmmmm, muscle bear talk. Can't wait till I am a full blown muscle bear. Not afraid of getting old here!

I am curious, what exactly is a full blown muscle bear, as opposed to a regular muscle bear? ;)

My new years goals. Abs, muscle gain, last year to be too slutty, settle down with a guy near the end of the year, pay for a date, etc. . .

I like doing ab exercises. Crunches and leg raises, combined with the main lifts (mainly squatting, if I understand correctly) and you are all set, or is there more to it?

the only bad thing about abs is that it takes very long, both in gym time and to see decent results.... I do around 400 crunches plus 100 leg raises twice a week and all I've got it this (check pic), it's annoying cause it takes time but I have fun doing them. Any advice or tips from fitness-gayGAF in this regard are appreciated.

I'm no expert in fitness, but abs are hard because it's where a lot of the fat goes (it covers up whatever muscle you have). So it doesn't matter how many crunches or exercises you do if you don't trim the fat from your diet and do the necessary cardio to shed what is already there.

Went to a UU church for 6 months while on an exchange program in the states. They were great and overall it was a nice experience. If I ever had to chose a church I'd go to regularly, I'll probably go to that one.

There's nothing even remotely like it in Belgium though. My boyfriend is a practicing catholic though, and he wants me to go to church with him from time to time. It's actually been the cause of a few small fights between us...

I really think religion and being gay are in opposite sides more often than not, but in the case of Catholicism is just impossible, you can't have a boyfriend and be Catholic, you just don't.

Why not? They're in the minority, but gay-friendly churches and priests certainly exist, at least in the United States. There are other things about Catholicism and organized religion in general that might be objectionable, but if your concern about Catholicism is strictly related to their views on homosexuality and nothing more, there are definitely churches out there that are accepting.

Oh man, online dating. It's not even been a week since I reactivated my account and I have already been blocked several times, either after I send my pics or after we agreed to drinks and I said where I lived (lol?).
I stings, sure, but at the same time the guys I shouldn't date seem to root themselves out.
I'll give it a month and if nothing comes out of it I'm going back to being unplugged.

I think it all depends if you pick and chose or strictly adhere to all the precepts. But I understand what you're saying. Most of my family is Catholic but they don't necessarily agree with everything the Pope says for example.

It'll be our little secret.

I'm no expert in fitness, but abs are hard because it's where a lot of the fat goes (it covers up whatever muscle you have). So it doesn't matter how many crunches or exercises you do if you don't trim the fat from your diet and do the necessary cardio to shed what is already there.

This is my understanding as well. All the ab exercises help strengthen your core - which is very important - but if you're not eating properly and doing cardio you probably won't get any visual results. I got the most progress from doing the Insanity program which is actually lighter on ab exercises than what I was doing before but a helluva lot more cardio.

Also there's the genetic component but I won't get in that.

There are other things about Catholicism and organized religion in general that might be objectionable, but if your concern about Catholicism is strictly related to their views on homosexuality and nothing more, there are definitely churches out there that are accepting.

I don't think it's necessarily that Christianity has rules against homosexuality but by being gay you are forced to rationalize church dogma. And once you start analyzing their teachings the whole thing kind of comes down like a house of cards. Not to say you can't be gay and have faith but a rational examination of religion generally leads to people abandoning it.

yeah I pretty much agree with you.

That's the thing, if you are not adhering to the religion then it really makes no sense to call yourself a member of that religion. I do admit is much more complex than that, religion is part of your culture and roots, people identify with it the same way they do with their nationality or their family, however sometimes the contradiction is too big and obvious, like in our case.

Thanks for explaining it better than I could. I remember discussing this with some friends, you are raised in religion, religion tells you that your desires are wrong, so you either accept that fact or confront the religion and analyze it, at that point your whole world crumbles, specially for someone very religious, you basically have to start from scratch.

Sphinx dude, if that last pic is you, you look rockin' as is. ;) I admire wanting to be even better though.

yeah, that's me, thanks :)

but look at the ginger guy I posted, he doesn't have the most visible sixpack in the world, but he looks rock solid and strong, all of his upper body, I look like a small boy compared to him. There is definitely a long way to go and lots of room for improvement for me.

I know.. I shouldn't compare to a professional rugby player but at the same time, why not? It's good to have someone to look up to.

Screw all of you skinny/muscular bitches.

I'm just fine with my tummy and my big thighs. If guys don't like it, fuck em.

high-five.gif

sometimes I think I'm the only one that likes his belly.

I should definitely do more physical activity, but for health reasons, so I will never get a muscular body, and I really don't want to.
