Its funny how each time the starters are revealed I think they look RADICALLY DIFFERENT than the rest and then they just settle and start looking like everyone else

that said, these starters look RADICALLY DIFFERENT

I think the color shades are lighter and the predominance of yellow in the fire type is definetly new and a bit jarring

It's more likely a reverse type matchup on the secondary type.

Pokemon Z could easily be a Rayquaza or Gyarados shaped pokemon posing like a Z. I'm pretty sure Rayquaza already does this.

That Y pokemon looks awesome.
And I think we're jumping the gun on the dual type starters but that would be awesome if they're Dark-Fighting-Psychic, especially they're paired up in a way that neutralizes the type 1 weaknesses.

Why do the recent Basic starter pokemon look chibified. Look at Bulbasaur, that still looks like something you don't want to fuck with while remaining cute. Gen 1 and I guess Gen 2 they seemed to have bigger bodies minus cindaquil.

I'm thinking Dark type, since the placement of the white fluff on its back and nose is similar to the traditional Japanese thief trope (bag slung over back and hankerchief tied over the nose as disguise). Along with the Dark-styled secondary attack he has in the trailer.
