Would you believe me if I said part of me wishes I hadn't watched it? The first half of the movie opens without explanation of a HUGE change in the series finale's status quo, and it ends without explaining anything about Lapis, or where Akito is going. And the final battle was utterly without tension. Well, I mean, it started with it, but it kinda lacked.
Feel like this should've been expanded into a full season to explain the HUGE gaps going on. Still, it was nice to see them all one last time. Is there a manga or something that explains where Akito went at the end?
I kind of prefer the series ending, because it ends with the whole crew together and happy. The movie raises a ton of questions, doesn't answer them, and ignores all the unresolved questions from the series finale. Particularly the card that young Ai gave to Inez.

While you certainly sound positive about the final OVA you certainly haven't sold me on the rest of the series, not that you're trying to. Maybe I'll only watch the final one if the rest are so dire.

The tanks are often fine and by fine I mean not great but the real offenders are usually the CG backgrounds.

Well, almost all of Kazuo Koike's works feature gratuitous rape and violence so it's all a wash really.

True, but I'm pretty sure it was Wounded Man that had the scene with the woman being raped with the dislocated arms that had the motion lines indicating they were shaking around and everything.
