Do not get a regular 3DS it has a design flaw which allows the raised border on the bottom screen to mark/scratch the top screen when closed.

I really wanted that £142 white 3DS XL with 2 games, but unfortunately I don't have enough money. :(

Maybe one day, I just hope the price doesn't get higher again or they don't run out of White 3DS's.

New codes for thehut:
OTO30 - 2.50pounds off 30pounds
OTO50 - 5pounds off 50pounds

New code for zavvi:
VCJANZ5 - 5pounds off 50pounds

(valid till at least 10.1)

Nah, that's only if you carelessly slam it together over and over. It is a design flaw though, that's for sure.

On the original 3DS you surely didn't have to slam it to get marks. Just being closed was enough for my 3DS.

Great price on 3DS XL, Super Mario 3D Land is fantastic too.

gah so im looking for 3ds xl offers and i miss that one :/

anyway I'm thinking of upgrading my Cosmo black 3ds to a 3dsxl in preparation for Pokemon X / Y of course i want one fairly cheap so i can grab the free games from NoE.

thing is the pikachu 3dsxl is £165 on zavvi do i take the risk it has 5 working days to get to do you guys think that is possible? or am i best just grabbing the blue 3dsxl off amazon and paying for express delivery?

I've had 2 old style 3DSs (launch one and Zelda special one) and they both randomly left line marks on the top screen just from being closed - even with the little bit of packaging foam thing (or whatever you call it) that the system came with dividing the screens and me taking lots of care with it.

Never scratches like some people get, just 'marks' that had to be wiped away. Nothing crazy but still enough to annoy me a little.

Beyond that though more importantly I felt the general build of the original was much much worse, shitty dpad and stiff feel, just wasn't fun to play and thats a problem!

And thats also not even mentioning the glorious bigger screens lol.

Love my 3DS XL soooo much. <3

If someone could hook me up with 10% off zavvi or The Hut I'd be most thankful :>

Firesale over at GAME.fr

The group is dying for real this time (at least in France) and they're doing -30% on consoles and -70% on games.

Maybe I posted this too quickly... or too late: I can't find a single item that isn't out of stock.

Man, The Hut's customer services are just awful. Emailed them last Friday about changing the payment method for a pre-order, noting that I didn't want to cancel it because they'd since put the price up by £20. Finally got a response today:

To change the payent methord cancel the order and then re order wth te correct ayment methord.

Kind regards,
Harry Winstanley
thehut.com Customer Service Team
Thanks Harry. I'm almost impressed that he managed to pack that many typos into a single sentence.

Seems like nothing is available? But damn at those prices. Far Cry 3 Insane Edition for 28€ would have been pretty nice.

Yeah, I've been looking around and the prices seem to reflect the in-store prices, there's nothing anymore on the website.

If any French guy comes across that thread: Run to your closest GAME, dude.

Ah, thanks.

I'm kind of amazed 'closing the loophole' has had an actual effect and they didn't just find another one.
You've got to imagine the VAST majority of their sales are CD/DVD so this is going to hit hard. Would it be interpreted as a loophole when the rule seems to be there specifically to allow it? I guess they were written in times that weren't so hard.

Will get at my local GAME tonight, hope there'll be some Vita leftovers.
People were apparently going all nuts today, emptying the shelves with big bags, buying everything in sight ( there was even some rival stores trying to buy all the 3DS for their own store ).
Sad end for GAME, but at least they go out with a bang.

My closest GAME has closed unfortunately :(

Anyways, this year's sales have been great for video games in Carrefour and Fnac stores. Scored Solatorobo for 10€, Metroid Other Meh 5€, Xbox Live 1year subscriptions for 20€, Asura's Wrath for 15€, Lollipop Chainsaw for 15€, Star Fox 3D for 20€ and Tales of Graces F for 29€. Also, Dark Void for 3€ lol

Anyone know if they're in trouble in the UK? Considering buying a Used PS3 from them. £130 for the 160gb unit doesn't seem too bad, CeX is doing it for £160 and some on eBay are hovering at £100-130. Not really in the mood to find out in the morning that they're in administration and I just lost my cash.

Don't think the UK side is what you would call healthy, but one of the smaller ones that closed down when a load of them got the axe last year reopened recently so they can't be doing too badly, unless it's one final hurrah...

Some great deals there! Do they deliever to the UK?

Was going to post it on here but a banned site has Halo 4 2000 UK MSP points (emailed direct) for £12.85 at the moment.
Don't know if I can hint who it is?

Nope. UK stores are owned by a separate company now, and from i can gather are back on there feet after what happened last year

They had those for a while and I bought 2 codes a few weeks back for the xbox sales, and you can say who it's just that a hotlink will be broken on gaf.

guessing the 3ds with mario land for £167 from shopto is the current cheapest?

Anyone know of any others cheaper before I place the order?

I got Xenoblade Chronicles (£35) and Metroid Prime Trilogy(£43), both new, from CoolShop.co.uk, so pretty much at RRP.

I confirmed with them that they are the UK versions with UK box art, and my copies just shipped, so they're definitely in stock :)

Definitely a steal for both games, seeing as they sell USED for a lot higher.

I'm pretty certain Metroid Prime Trilogy has had a limited re-print in the EU lately. I bought one off amazon for about the same price recently and it was copyrighted 2012. It was also just a plastic case. Still in a sleeve and still the collector's edition, but I believe the original run of the game was steelbook.

IIRC steelbook was a US run thing, European copies were in normal Wii cases.
Edit:
The packaging of the Trilogy varies between the regions it was released in. In North America, the product came with a metal SteelBook packaging and transparent sleeve. However, in Europe and Australia, the Trilogy instead was packaged in a normal Wii case, but with no text, inside a cardboard sleeve which reproduced the effect of the transparent sleeve and the SteelBook cover and back.
