Should have just made Emboar Fire / Ground. He'd still be useless, slow and weak to everything, but at least people could stop complaining about his typing.

Emboar's design would be okay if Blaziken and Infernape didn't already exist, but unfortunately it doesn't exist in a vacuum.

On telling types of the legendaries based on their looks--be careful with that. Who could have honestly guessed that Lugia would be Psychic/Flying? Or that Palkia would be Water/Dragon?

EDIT: I will say that I am 99.9% certain that Yveltal will be part Flying, if only because I don't see them wasting a legendary Pokemon's ability on Levitate.

They did for Latios and Latias, but they also weren't box legendaries, so who knows. They do like giving the legendaries unique abilities, even if they're functionally the same as another.

Looks like I will be getting Black & White to catch me up while I wait for XY. So how do I pick between Black or White? Should i skip the first set and go to Black & White 2?? How are the starters?

The primary difference between Black and White, aside from the few unique Pokemon to each, is Black City and White Forest. Neither is that useful unless you decide to maintain it, but White Forest will allow you to catch more Pokemon than you would otherwise.

You wouldn't be wrong going with BW2 first, but there is a story that is continued directly from BW. If you're not interested in the story though, BW2 offers more Pokemon, a better City/Forest, Move Tutors, more side stuff and a few gameplay improvements.

Just choose what you enjoy the look of for your starter. Gen V has a surprising amount of good Fire, Grass and Water Pokemon to pick from later. So you're not going to be looking at an 'oh no. not a single fire pokemon unless i pick chimchar' situation. They are all usable, although I find Samurott to be 'the best' on a playthrough, if only because it learns plenty of HMs.

Black and White do have a story that's pretty interesting, as far as Pokemon games go. It's still light, but it's the heaviest thematically and deepest we've ever seen the mythos go.

Version 2... yeah. It's just a Pokemon story in Version 2.

They should have definitely avoided putting them on their most successful systems like Game Boy and Nintendo DS. I mean, they might not be able to print enough copies to keep up with demand.

I wonder how big the regional dex is gonna be. Going by past patterns, I'd assume this gen is gonna be an "add-on" gen like II and IV and focus on a moderate amount of new designs and evolutions/pre-evolutions for old dudes.

Only thing that worries me is that so far the old Pokemon shown in the trailer were just in B/W2, c'mon show the Hoenn dudes some love!
