We all have are favorite genres but what is that one or two specific ones that you cant for the life of you get into or understand how others can find it appealing?
For me it's any type of economic strategy game. Games like Civilization or even Rome Total War where you have to monitor your people's happiness levels or make sure your city is getting enough food or making sure the population is happy, fuck that shit. Though I can't really articulate critically what I dislike about them other than their extremely boring and that I feel like I'm just interacting with a glorified spreadsheet. Of course I'm generalizing but to me it feels more like work than something that's supposed to be fun. Like in some hypothetical reality where this was actually how stuff got done I could see just some dude working an 8-5 job on the computer all day looking at spreadsheets and deciding where to allocate resources, and it wouldn't be to far off how I'd describe my experience with these kind of games.
