Genres or games you just can't get into?

Thanks for clarifying that, I just got gifted DOTA 2 today on steam...I can't decide if I like it or not yet. Might have to put a few more hours into it.
 
"MOBA" games (talking games like DOTA 2 and League, not the more general 3D action games like Guilty Gear 2 or Monday Night Combat) seem completely unappealing to me. I hardly play RTS games, and I'd much sooner get into those.
 
I tend to lost interest in racing games really quickly. I'll play them for a day or two but then I'll just put them down, never to be played again.

As for specifics, I was never really able to get into any Elder Scrolls games except for Skyrim. Not really sure why. I couldn't get into Fallout 3 either.
 
RTS

I can objectively realize that games like Starcraft 2 and Dawn of War are good games, but I just can't get into them at all.
 
racing games, fighting games, sports games, anything where the scenery and environments are literally identical throughout the entire game.
 
Racing games excepted Mario Kart genre (im biased, what do you want)

Specific game? Assasin's Creed. All of them. Find them so boooooring.
 
Anything lacking an interesting story I just cannot get into, regardless of genre. Now a days I need to have some kind of thematic payoff. I want character development or even some abstract changes happening in the game world due to my actions that by the end of the game signify something unique and/or interesting. Little inferno is the most recent example of a game that enjoyed because of its story beats.
 
I would say RTS because I'm pretty bad in Age of Empires, but than I remember that I'm good in the Anno games and managed to break the ones in Suikoden V.
I'd say fighting games.
 
RPG's.

Could never get into the Mass Effect series. Now playing The Witcher 2 after buying it on the steam sale and I'm just bored by it. Sure it looks beautiful, but the game just isn't for me. Many will probably think I'm missing out.
 
Open World games. With the exception of Skyrim, I can't get into them. I just play it like a sandbox for 30min and put them down.
 
-Fighting games. With the exception of Dragonball Z Budokai 3 they've always bored me. I always looked at them as incredibly shallow experiences compared to other games since you're always in a tiny area just fighting 1 guy. While I realize that that's the entire point, it's boring after a few minutes.

-Jrpgs. I used to be in love with them but I got older, played wrpgs and now I have a hard time going back to rpgs with such horrible writing standards. Not a big fan of turn based combat anymore either.

-MMOs. I played WoW and it was amazing but I'm done with the genre until someone can stop copying WoW and come up with the next big new thing. I didn't quit WoW to go back to playing the same shit in a different game, that'd make no sense.

-Platformers. I can play them every now and then but only in bursts because there's just not much to them. 2D platformers are especially bad in that regard. It takes mere minutes for something like new super mario bros to start putting me to sleep.
 
-MMORPG's based around the concept of PvP (like League of Legends)
-RTS: Except for StarCraft, I don't really like them that much
 
Virtually all single player games. They just aren't challenging enough for me in almost all instances (some Puzzle/Strategy games are excluded, along with occasional exceptions like Dark Souls / Ninja Gaiden).
 
My only real RTS experience was with Dawn of War II and I enjoyed it, but I only ever played on Easy and don't think I'll ever play another game in the genre.

You must be exceptional. Most single player games are too hard or too annoying for me to deal with on their hardest difficulty levels. Stuff like Halo on Legendary solo.
 
2D Fighting Games. I can do some Tekken and Soul Calibur, I don't know how you guys do Street Fighters/Marvel Vs. Those shits are impossible to me.
 
FPSs. Can't stand any of them. And even games which people don't typically consider "FPSs" but which are in first-person view, such as the newer Fallout games and such, can't stand them either. 99% of the time, a game being in 1st-person just immediately turns me off to a game.

Also, any game where scaring you or showing excessive amounts of blood, gore, violence, etc. is a significant focus of the game. All of that just immediately puts me off from a game.

I love turn-based JRPGs, they're by far my favorite genre, but, when a game is an Action RPG my level of interest in it drops significantly. I just prefer the style and structure of turn-based games.
At the same time, I just could never really get into Tactics-style RPGs (Final Fantasy Tactics, Tactics Ogre, etc.)
 
My friend keeps bugging me to play DOTA 2. I KNOW it's a good game, but the more he talks about it and whines on at me, the less I want to play. I have it installed... I just... I've never opened it.
 
Strategy games, fighting games, and RPGs. Mainly because those things take a lot of time and thinking, when I want to play games, 90% of the time I'm not there to do that for fun.
 
Western RPGs. I don't hate them or anything, and I wouldn't mind trying one again, but as someone who loves JRPGs, WRPGs lack a certain something for me. Style? Charm?

First Person Shooters. They're just...boring for me, and don't really grab my attention. Closest I'm gonna get to enjoying them is Metroid Prime and Portal (though I love both.)
 
SRPGs. Only SRPG I've ever completed was Final Fantasy Tactics A2. I hate Valkyria Chronicles and FFT was too slow for me.
 
Mostly fighters and MOBA's. I'm really bad at them or I'm too impatient to overcome the massive learning curve.
 
Mobas are best not investing in if you care about the other 99.98% of the video game market and most of your free time.
 
RTSs. I'm horrible at them. I wish I wasn't, because they seem awesome. I like RPG's too, but it's rare that I ever complete one. Something else always comes up.
 
Fighters and MOBAs. I find them fun at first but that quickly fades. I don't understand their lasting appeal.

EDIT: And realistic sports games for the most part. Things like the Mario sports or SSX are fun though.
