Cheap Arse Gaffer |Europe| We Need To Go Cheaper

I'm pretty certain Metroid Prime Trilogy has had a limited re-print in the EU lately. I bought one off amazon for about the same price recently and it was copyrighted 2012. It was also just a plastic case. Still in a sleeve and still the collector's edition, but I believe the original run of the game was steelbook.

It must have been very limited, as I haven't seen it at retail, or online for a comparable price.

I think it was just NA copies that were Steelbooks as my copy is just a standard Wii case with a slipcover. Still regardless totally worth the money.

Heads up on HMV

Heads up on HMV

HMV sale == regular price + 5pounds :P

btw. Bioshock Ultimate Rapture Edition (Bioshock 1+2+all DLCs) for 13pounds/19EUR at shop-de-two

Will get this - I own both Bioshocks, but the DLC was always way too expensive and I hate DLC anyways. It seems that everything will be on-disc like it should be.

Likewise.

I looked long and hard for it near the start of December last year and the only places I could find it online, outside of eBay, were Coolshop and the amazon marketplace. The first order I made on the marketplace got cancelled, and I eventually paid slightly more for it than I could have if bought from Coolshop, but like you I was skeptical that the listing wasn't a mistake.

Seems from other posts that the EU version was never a steelbook, but the copy I have definitely has 2012 copyright/trademark dates on it.

They've already got a sale running on their site, which features awesome prices like Borderlands 2 for £39.99 and Forza Horizon for £42.99. I'm surprised the site is coping with the mad rush for hot deals like those.

Is this the sale that's live on HMV.com now? Some good deals on Blu-rays but the gaming section looks like pretty slim pickings.

Heads up on HMV

Hmmm got to go past there on the way home from work tomorrow anyway but they seams to have more staff than customers in there these days. Plus 50% of the store is taken up with bloody headphones! Still got a bargain last year when they marked down New Vegas Ultimate Edition to a fiver instead of the regular version.

GAME ain't too hot on order tracking. Shipped 8 hours ago with no update. Their live chat said it might be scanned when it leaves the depot tomorrow. Assuming it comes tomorrow.

From HUKD.

Green Man Gaming:
Use the following code to get 25% off pre-orders.

GMG25-XTYYZ-POSL1

So that means you can get Bioshock Infinite for £22.50 - steam activated too.
Also Crysis 3 for around £25.

If you're on Xbox LIVE Gold, you can get 2400 Microsoft Points and two months of nowtv (streaming movies) for £8.99.

Just sign up for the trial at http://www.nowtv.com/xbox and when you watch at least 90 minutes of stuff via the Xbox app you get 800pts. If you then subscribe for one month (at a cost of £8.99) you get a further 1600pts. Within 30 days.

So yeah, 2400 for £8.99 or just 800 for free if you'd rather.

So I guess that means £25 blu-rays will now be £22 and games down to £40 from £45.

I was in there yesterday and while their new blu rays are over priced, they have a pretty great deal on where you can 3 for £20 or 5 for £30. pretty wide selection too. lots of stuff from last year as well as previous years as you'd expect.

I grabbed Pan's Labyrinth, Moneyball, The Adventures of TinTin, Hugo and The Raid for £30.

I don't know where to post this but I was looking to see if there were any preorder deals for Ni No Kuni and this game across my radar:

GAME said:

Zavvi was the cheapest earlier in the week at around £32 but just checked and they've got it priced at £34.99. That and I've never had anything delivered on time from them since they moved.

That's kind of interesting, considering the Wizard's Edition comes with a fully translated version of the same book. Makes me curious as to where they got copies of the original Japanese book from.

Exactly I wanna know why anyone in the UK would want a Japanese book, me thinks Level 5 had an abundance of them sitting in a warehouse...

Level 5 overprinted in Japan according to another member there's ton of copies on eBay and quite cheap as well.

Having had a good look at the box last night, I was wrong, there's nothing on the box that has the 2012 date in it. However, in the box is a Nintendo flyer that contains lots of recent games, with a copyright notices on the back that cover 2012.

With the flyer removed, there's little that gives the game away as a reprint.

Bioshock Infinite euro price: €50. With discount: €37.50 / about £31 ... I have no idea why GMG is so fucking expensive for the rest of Europe.

while its not an indicator one way or the other, the fact that there isn't a thread about the sale on hotdeals (or at least one that's active) suggests it's pretty disappointing.

True, I remember when HMV actually used to do good sales before the rise of the internet. £10 Godfather trilogy on DVD and 10 Nightmare on Elm street collection were absolute bargains at the time. Think that was 2001 ish.

The writing looks prettier. As I understand it the whole book is included in-game anyway, so the practical use of it is limited. It's just a nice decorative keepsake.

Not sure if it's been posted but Amazon.de has the THQ uDraw table + game on sale for 10€ (Xbox 360 and PS3). Link

It's also available on Amazon.co.uk for just as cheap.

Think I might pop in this afternoon, will probably only bite on something if there's a really great deal on games/blu-rays though as I'm trying to save at the moment so don't anticipate getting much. I'll wait for the inevitable "Going into administration" sale.

The book wasn't for the PS3 version anyway, it just was mandatory for the DS version if I remember correctly.

HMV sale is poor lol
The public are a bunch of vultures. Any whiff of a shop shutting down and they swoop in like hawks. Kind of hilarious any sale now means the store is going to shut down apparently.

Parcel Force failed to deliver my console today so got an upgrade to Saturday delivery from GAME, not holding my breath though.
