Vita PSN Game & Service Thread 2

Random question:

If no more Vita games were announced, would you be happy with your Vita?

hmm... Well, I am currently happy with my Vita, and I don`t expect that to change when the games stop coming...

In fact, a quick count shows me that I`ve got 60 games on my Vita now between cards and those loaded on my 32GB memory card (and I`ve got many, many more PSP and PSX games on PSN that I could load on my Vita if I chose to, and if I had the space). That`s quite a library... My Atari Lynx was bought on release and I`ve always been happy with it, and I don`t think there were more than 80 games released for it in its entire lifetime, so maybe I`m just easy to please...

The Vita is, without doubt, the best handheld video game console ever released, and I love handheld gaming... I`m happy with it regardless, but I don`t think we have anything to fear. There will be games released for this system for years to come, yet...

edit: top o' the page - buy GRAVITY RUSH, ZERO ESCAPE, P4Golden and PS+

I wish Tearaway wasn't the only big future release to look forward to, just doesnt look like my kind of game at all. Like a pretty tech demo.

And that's not enough at all. Be it Sony or third parties, they HAVE to come out and announce huge Vita titles at E3 and release them for the Holiday season.

they will... i mean its not like a company should just announce all their games at once..

look at the wiiU - brand new and it's audience barely know what games they have to look forward to this year...i think 3 announced?

im plenty satisfied with whats been announced and what will come.

So it's $40 the official price for Sly Cooper on PS3?

I wonder why Amazon and BestBuy still have it listed for $60 if that is the case...

I guess them acknowledging that the vita version still exists is news. Good enough to please me since I'll probably just buy it on Vita unless there are 2 trophy lists. Speaking of trophies that game better have a full damn list and a platinum too. There's nothing more annoying than HD ports of older full games with PSN-level trophy lists. Like Beyond Good and Evil and RE4, 2 games that are 10-20+ hours and only have like 12 trophies.

A 40+ hour RPG with 12 trophies aint going to cut it SE >:(

It's always like that at launch, for all consoles. Vita have been out for a year so hopefully they pick up the pace. Not just Sony who has Killzone and Tearaway but also third parties.

Shouldn't this get its own thread? :)

I think you can blame Microsoft for your 12 trophies with no platinum on RE4/CV. :)
All of their XBL releases generally have 12 achievements, so I think Capcom started off with 12 achievements which correlated to 12 trophies. Then MS said "well, based on whatever, you're now a Games on Demand title" and at that point, I think RE4/CV got bumped to be 1000 achievement points, but they just multiplied the previous values by 5x or something. Granted, Capcom are to blame for not going back and adding a platinum to those games after the fact, but at that point, they probably just said "it's not worth changing the code, people can deal." (The same way Capcom was lazy and never patched trophies into SSF2THDR.)

At this point, all the HD remakes of late, at least the collections, have had a full trophy list with a platinum. Not sure what the deal with BG&E was, but that was also multiplatform and I don't think it got dubbed a Games on Demand title, so that was probably stuck at the 200 point limit which led to 12 trophies no platinum for PSN.

I dont even own a PS3, so I really hope the Vita version is still in the works.

Would be awesome to play this on a portable like the vita.
Yea with remakes im 100 times more likely to play them on a handheld. Wonder id this would help japanese sales.isnt ffx one of the best selling?

Awesome. Probably will get it for vita though I might double dip if the saves are combatable

This is the type of game that screams "do crossbuy, Square-Enix!"

Seriously. I'd pay $60 for a PSASBR type deal on this and I don't even particularly LIKE the game. Hell, there aren't many FF games I'd rank lower than it. And yet, a crossbuy promotion like this? 2 trophy lists with 2 platinums? I'd even consider doing a double dip if they value priced them at $30 each. :lol

I really hope they go the extra mile of including new dungeons and bosses.

Squarenix game at a discount, lol. I doubt they do crossbuy.enough people will buy both.though if sony througs money maybe. I see it following the mgs collection.

yeah, i don't think there have been any crossbuy 3rd party retail games. square enix is the LAST company that would start it.

MGS collection was value priced and dropped quickly though. I paid $15 for my retail Vita cart and $17 for the digital that replaced it. I paid $40 asking price for the PS3 version, but I don't mind supporting HD collections that are worth a damn. :)

I don't think, as an HD upgrade, that they'll be able to turn around and charge $60 for the PS3 version alone. However they decide to do it though... hopefully it's not a terrible choice. (Look at FFXIII-2; I think I got that for $15 within 6 months of it's release.)

this SO hard....

i tore that game apart on ps2 over 99 hrs for my playthrough, i REALLY don't want to do it again....

maybe this time ill make everyone a different class on their sphere grid - melee lulu!?

Microsoft ruining everything with their dumb rules.

Microsoft ruining everything with their dumb rules.

Pretty much.
It's their certification process that usually delays updates if a dev is pushing for releasing them on same day. It's also MS that likes to moneyhat bullshit DLC and make things "exclusive" instead of developing new quality IPs for a core gaming audience. ;)

And I just looked it up to make sure I'm not crazy:

RE4 HD: 12 achievements 1000 gamerscore
RE:CV HD: 12 achievements 1000 gamerscore
BG&E: 12 achievements 200 gamerscore

BG&E is the norm... which would explain why a PSN version of the game has 12 achievements and no platinum.
Lazy Capcom decided once MS made RE4/RE:CV HD to be Games on Demand titles instead of XBLA titles that in order to meet the 1000 for "full retail" to just multiply things by 5x, or whatever. It was a last minute thing, as they originally conformed to the 12 achievements for 200 rule and then were made to change it. They, however, saw no benefit in going in and changing the trophy list and such for PSN. This probably has to do with certification costs and such, as they were already gold or whatever and paid their fees so it would have cost them money to change it. And you know how Cashcom works. If it doesn't profit them in some way, they really don't give a fuck. :) (See: SFxT Vita DLC fiasco...)

They asked how I knew about Velocity in their survey.

I kindly told them that Carl over on NeoGAF had been preaching the greatness of Velocity and was probably a good portion of their word of mouth, at least for Vita owners who post on NeoGAF. Made you sound pretty awesome. So if they come looking for you because of your free PR skills, it was because of me! Remember me when they're spoiling you with untold riches. ;D

Possibly old. May need a new thread.

Had made the error of setting up my vita account with my previous physical mail address, which happened to be in a different country.
BIG FUCKING MISTAKE YOU JACKASS NO PS STORE FOR YOU.

Can't believe the hoops I have to jump through to give them money. This is fucking ludicrous. Fucking consoles man.

Been playing a lot of MK ... At the final story boss now. Anyone have tips? Freaking hard. I found a vulnerability finally so I have managed to beat him twice now, but not nearly 2/3 yet.

Story mode turned out amazingly long btw
