I might as well not have one, I hardly use it. But I think family and friends would worry if I deleted mine. And I've heard it can look bad when you're looking for a job if you don't have one. So, looks like I'm stuck...

Totally understand if it's to stay in contact with family and friends at a distance. First time hearing of it looking bad during job-hunting though... usually people say the other way around about how you should hide yours from the corporate spies during hiring and stuff.

You have a tag so I wouldn't worry too much about being forgotten or whatever. Besides, most people look at the avatar, not the username.

I'm 32 and don't feel particularly anonymous on the internet; anonymity holds no great appeal to me anymore, there's nothing I've posted on the internet I wouldn't discuss in person.

Are you going to make the kinds of threads that make people go looking for your Facebook profile? Are you going to be upset if they find it?
