You know 3ds, that system that does 3D without glasses, 3 axes , etc.I'm sure that came to mind while they were coming up with stuff for this game. Also Diamond and Pearl didn't have much to do with diamonds and pearls in story despite that being in the titles, the pokemon were representative of those things yes, but also had a whole different (and much more important) element to them and their story despite the titles looking diamond-like and pearl-like. So yes, at the end of the day we will just have to wait and see what the story and third legendary is like.

Piplup > Oshawott > Mudkip > Froakie > Totodile > Squirtle

Turtwig > Chikorita > Bulbasaur > Chespin > Snivy > Treecko

Fennekin > Cyndaquil > Charmander > Tepig > Torchic > Chimchar

Water line is by far my favorite overall, I like all of them a lot. Fire line is really brought down by the two stragglers, but Fennekin makes up for their shortcomings. Grass line is decent, the first three are great but I'm not sold at all on the last three.
