Oh, I can see how Xerneas could be partly Yggdrasil inspired.
But Yveltal? That thing screams Wyvern. They didn't half ass the Stag by making it look like a ... bull, goat or ram with antlers so I see no reason to think Yveltal is just an eagle that just happens to overly reference a Western dragon.

Which myths pair a stag and a bird? Only Norse mythology. There's a connection. It's the eagle. Very stylized and more monstrous, naturally, though it still has the head and collar of an eagle. That doesn't mean it can't be part-Dragon, or borrowing cues from European wyverns.

Why can't it be the other way? The Stag is a creature that shows up in more than one European mythology, and the Wyvern is their trade mark dragon.

Because the stag has all four different colored antler gemstones of the Stags of Yggdrasil. And they were famously paired with a great bird. I just think it's a bit much for coincidence. Also, the stags were associated with the X axis, and the bird with the Y axis.

Froakie the new Poké looks like a joke, Fennekin is superior without ribbit in it's throat. I don't wanna gloat, but Fennekin is rad, it's a shame that it's fans make me so sad, you might think we were browsing deviantart with the posts that were had.

In the end, Fennekin still is going to win and be the best friend. Unlike Chespin, it doesn't chuckle,
