Giant Bomb Thread The Third: #TeamBrad

Alright, I've already gone this far. I might as well take the plunge...

Total number of games Brad reviewed in 2012: 26

Number of games that Brad gave 5 stars: 5

"Almost every game": Less than 25%

Math!

For comparison's sake: Ryan gave one 5-star and Jeff gave two.

...then again Jeff gave his 5-stars to MK and Syndicate. Jeff is crazier by default.

oh DMC got 5 stars cool lemme read it

cool cool sounds good

oh 400 comments let me check and see what's going on in there

"I used to value your opinion Brad, no longer. I used to trust giantbomb's reviews, no longer. After this and your view of ME3, you're either clinically retarded or getting paid, and either way, I just can't stomach you anymore."

*closes tab*

lol

that is the point where you should stop reading the review.
I've stopped reading when I saw that the review was incorrectly marked to be "for the PS3 and X360 release" when I'm fairly certain Brad has only played one of them to completion.

It's like no one learned from the Skyrim PS3 fiasco.

Or, you know, try having played the game or maybe at least wait until the release date so you can lie about having played it before saying a score is wrong and so is the reviewer.
That's fine and dandy but telling people to stop whining is just as worse. How about you ignore it?

Not a whole lot of that is going on in this thread right now. We're cool.

EDIT:You know what? I love you. Marry me.

Brad has never played DMC3? DMC3, Dante Must Die for Breaking Brad! ...But that would probably make him hate the game, and I really wouldn't want that, lol

Didn't brad give Fable: The Journey like 4 stars? If he's giving kinect games four stars it doesn't surprise me that he would give a competent action game five stars. Brad doesn't strike me as a person that's interested in deep game play mechanics.

He reached Diamond level in Starcraft II ladder. He can be good at games that he actually cares about.

This thread will get even more fun when Brad gives Revengeance a lower score.

I doubt it. I bet it'll go over like God of War 3 and Bayonetta did: one or two people will eternally hold a grudge and bring it up in the "GB GUYS HAVE AWFUL OPINIONS" portions of the thread cycle.

Unless they give it, like, 3 stars.

Isn't Starcraft super deep?

Yeah, I was just gonna say. If anyone at GB likes obsessing over complex games, its Brad.

Sounds to me like DMC did a better job of taking the concepts, expectations, and framework of the original series and have made it their own more than 343 did with Halo 4. Probably a bad line of comparison to attempt to draw, but he seems more excited about the changes and reinterpretation than anyone sounded about Halo 4. Then again, Brad said he hasn't played anything post-one of DMC, but I haven't played any of them.

Why did Brad stop playing Bayonetta? I'm also surprised Jeff doesn't dig character action games that much, especially as a fan of fighting games. You'd think they be right up his alley.

Brad needs to play DMC3 (original since that's harder) on DMD mode. Turn it into a Breaking Brad. Shame the Steam version sucks donkey cock though.

After the dramatic triumph of Ninja Theory's last game, Enslaved, it shouldn't surprise you that I'm back to devote another paragraph to the characters' performances in this game, which do so much to sell what, again, probably should have been a complete joke of a storyline.

What's wrong with it?

Sloppy as shit ports, before Capcom started making awesome ports. Lags like crazy even on beefy rigs, lots of glitches etc. You're better off getting the DMC collection on consoles.

@Jintor If you do play the Ys games on Steam, know that Hard means Nintendo hard. Even I had trouble with them and I'm awesome at games.

edit: DMC4 on Steam is excellent, has the Legendary Dark Knight mode which massively increases on-screen and total number of enemies.

It is a slightly off statement: Devil May Cry 4 sold 2.2 million copies as of early 2009, still quite popular. He's probably more referring to the fact that it's been so long since DMC4, less so of the franchise's popularity. It's been almost exactly 5 years since DMC4 came out.

It got up to 2.6 million on consoles.

I don't think Capcom ever released PC sales numbers, but I would assume that with all the Steam sales over the years DMC 4 got close to 3 million in total sales. I was one of the few who bought DMC 4 for PC on DVD in 2008 since it wasn't on Steam for quite a while.

Did you even play Enslaved? Yes it was just an average action game, with some repetitive moves, and animations during combat and gameplay, but I think Brad's referring to the well done dramatic character acting in that game, which was very good.

Enslaved and Heavenly Sword both had great character animation and voice acting. I fondly remember both and enjoyed playing through both. I wasn't interested in this Devil May Cry game until reading that it might be of similar quality found in other Ninja Theory games.

A lot of people think Ninja Theory is incredibly overrated in that department.

Oh man, why are people so brutal? I get disagreements but such rage over a person's opinion of a videogame. Obviously, it's nothing new but I still just do not understand that mentality. I feel like I'm as passionate about games as just about anyone and I've never had this kind of reaction.

My guess is fanboys gonna freak out because dat emo dante shit.

Either way da fuck is up with that reaction?
