Vita PSN Game & Service Thread 2

My copy of Hatsune Miku Project Diva f that I bought as a late Christmas present for myself arrived today. It's the first game I ever imported and the first Vita game I own that came with a physical manual. Can't wait to get started. :D

Edit: Top of page... Buy Persona 4 Golden, get PS+, and import Project Diva f.

are you running out of bandwidth and getting disconnected from the internet by teh cable company

Hatsune Miku is SO fucking delicious. That game is one of the best portable rhythm games I've played. DJ Max Portable 2 is the only other I can comfortably say is better (because <3 Blythe).

40 euro is £32.50 so £31.99 seemed fairer. It's $50 but includes 20% sales tax so..

But £35 is basically a full price game. Not sure I can support that, much as I love EDF. Might just fire it up on 360 and wait out a price drop.

How does it play? Always up for a good rhythm game but had ignored this because I thought it was some odd idol game.

I just finished watching the gorgeous opening animation and playing through the tutorial. I like what I see so far, although it might take a while for me to get adjusted to the flipped X/O buttons in Japanese games.

I prefer the X/O switch to be honest. And Tune is OK, but I STILL cannot figure out a good way to hold my Vita when I play it.

The best comparison I can make is something like a DDR/Stepmania. The silhouette of the button shows up on screen (x, o, square, triangle), and you have to hit the corresponding button (or arrow) in time. Right = circle, down = x, etc.

The charts are fun, the music is poppy and really fun to listen to (I seriously play this song EVERY time I play the game), and it's definitely NOT easy. The best thing to do is watch a few YouTube gameplay videos. I've only ever imported IIDX games before this, and it cost me a pretty penny...But it was SO worth it.

E: It can come off as a bit fan servicey, and a bit too animu for some, but it's a VERY polished rhythm game.
 
ill probabaly be up for some more HSG action tonight - (7-ish hrs?) so who ever wants in, check back around then. ~9pm eastern.

excited to be waking up with some of you and hear every ones experiences in the coming days!
 
I know it's free-to-play, but I wonder if US and EU will get a limited edition physical release of PSO2 with a bunch of in-game bonuses like Japan are getting. I doubt it. :(

I could play one game at 9. If you want to start our HSG Tournament today i should be able to go most of the day up until 10 pm. We could wait a few days to practice if you prefer though.
 
Wow, that NGS2+ Boxart is laxy. Let's just as a wave, done!

(Of course, the NGS2 boxart is MILES ahead of NG2's. But reusing it and adding more crap doesn't make it good.)

just wait man. just wait. fairways become narrow. sandtraps become 10 feet deep. and greens becomes circuses..

but its just so easy to pick up and play a hole or two....(cough cough ...and restart)

Persona 4 next month. Picotto Knights, Dokuro and Ragnarok are coming, courtesy of GungHo Online Entertainment, but no dates yet. Nothing on Samurai & Dragons, wouldn't count on seeing it unless PSO2 comes over and becomes huge, and Sega decides the Vita has room for more F2P MMOs.

see the stripes on the arrow in the top right corner?? the speed at which those stripes are moving indicates how fast teh wind is... also pressing down on the dpad drops grass and you can see the wind speed and direction from that. you dont get a # until you're on the green i believe, so its about you interpretting the signs. also the speed of the flag/pin.

I'm playing persona over here in sweden. :-)

Several stores keep the import version in stock. Some also have ragnarok.

Not about the quality of the game but rather the lack of support for what will be a massive franchise for them.

Granted it doesn't effect me, but it still is a representation of the medium and that makes me :sadface:

Basically, that.

I hate the fact you don't find out the wind until you get to the green. Never used to be like that in previous versions.

I had the same problem(but i don't play pso2), for some reason you have to check the "auto turn off the wifi"(or something similar) in the vita options, it worked for me.

Er dude I think your sarcasm detector is broken.

And yeah the Infinity thing is a bummer but its really not a game made for a handheld at all to begin with IMO. Will be curious to see how they manage to pull it off on iOS devices.
