We had Snivy and Oshawott's 2nd forms not long after they were announced, then there was the actual leak with all 6 starter evos before they finally unveiled them right before prerelease (and Bulba spent days denying them because Reshiram's nose had scanned funny). And that fucking photoshop analysis site bullshit.

Well here's something I can somewhat brag about: I actually knew they were real ahead of time. I've always more or less trusted Serebii when it comes to information. When Serebii leaks Gen 6 shit, people are going to be skeptical just like the past TWO GEN leaks posted on his site.

Now I honestly have no idea how this happened, but before Lucario and a couple of other characters in Brawl were announced, a close friend of mine who used to moderate on Serebiiforums told me personally that Serebii knew that Lucario was in Brawl and I believe Wolf, R.O.B., Jigglypuff + Ganondorf return was also namedropped. At first I was skeptical cause while Lucario made sense, others like R.O.B. really didn't. This was like a month before Lucario was officially revealed on the Smash Dojo and then later when the full roster was leaked, I was really surprised. Now you can refuse to believe me on this, but personally ever since then I've never doubted the man. After this happened I pretty much take anything Serebii says as legitimate news.

Serebii has a huge ego and has fucked up several times in the past, but he has his sources somehow. I don't understand how, but he does.

So remember this from my own experience: If Serebii says it's real, it's real (most likely). Though keep in mind Serebii hasn't backed any of the Gen 6 rumors and I'm guessing they're false. There'll be people who'll doubt, but I can't help but to stand by the man's legitimacy.

I am sort of... being sick with Dark type without Light type in Pokemon Franchise. I know that Normal isn't Light type but it does look like one. It is not very effective against Dark Type. :/

From past experience, no legitimate leak relating to a Pokémon Video Game has ever come from Nintendo, Game Freak, The Pokémon Company, or any other group associated with the actual game production. The real leaks have always come from someone involved in game journalism who was given an early look at something (so they could get their previews & reviews written prior to release), and just couldn't keep their mouth shut. The Wottergate fiasco back with the release of Black & White is a perfect example of that. Serebii's source during that fiasco was Melkor, a Spanish Pokémon webmaster who just happens to work for the licensed Official Nintendo Magazine in Spain. He legitimately had access to early info through his work, and then distributed it in violation of his NDA (not that most of us actually knew about any of that until after the fact, with the apparent exception of Joe).

Let's not forget, before this announcement of X & Y, we had a number supposedly professional sites claiming Pokémon Rainbow was going to be announced. There's a lot of people out there who claim to have "sources" who simply don't have them at all, and there's going to be even more people making claims about "my friend/dad/uncle/cousin/sister-in-law/etc works at Nintendo/TPC/etc" over the coming months. So I'll continue to be skeptical about all "leaks" leading up to the release of X & Y, no matter who they come from, and so should you. I'd much rather be wrong because I maintained a healthy skepticism and insisted on checking sources and information, rather than be wrong because I backed something that proved to be a hoax. And just as back with Wottergate, Bulba won't be reporting on any Gen VI rumours and/or leaks from unverified sources. There's a reason that we were the only major site to not get a cease & desist notice during that time, and I'd like to make sure we don't get one this time either.

Really now? Well, if that's so, then that's very interesting, and I stand corrected. In that case, I'll have to drag out the old PC over the weekend and see if I can't find my old chat logs.
