Fire Emblem: Awakening - Character Spotlights

I wonder what his support conversations are like.

"Oh, hey Kellam, I didn't see you there"

"..."

"W-Well... how's it going?"

"..."

"O-Oh, look! A Pegasus knight! time for some easy exp"

"..."

I really like the artstyle for this game, but for me Senri Kita's still at the top. She did the artwork for FE9/10 and Marth in this game, and the consistency's awesome.

Too bad these two will never be in the same game though. :I

So, are Kellam's squinty eyes better or worse than Oscar's squinty eyes?

OOOH EDIT maybe it's called Fire Emblem: Awakening because Kellam's actually sleeping through the whole game!!!

Just wait for Fire Emblem All-Stars!

Since this will be my first digital purchase on a nintendo system, I was wondering, is the game tied to your system?
If yes, what can I do if my 3ds breaks?

I believe it is, yeah. If your system breaks, you could try contacting customer support and see if they can do something involving your Club Nintendo account or something, but I'm not entirely sure what they do to resolve those problems.

So does anyone else, for the sake of canon, plan on not recruiting any of the DLC/SpotPass characters during their first playthrough? It would just seem odd to me to be playing alongside characters that by all rights shouldn't exist in this world...

Well the DLC characters may not be part of the in-game story, but they make sense as much as some of the other characters in the game.

Holy shit, the artwork looks incredible. Mega-hype, this is the confirmed game of the year (barring Smash Bros. or Rome II Total War releasing this year).

Anyone from Japan play this game yet? How does it stack up? Also, is Lyn a DLC character?

Where is this information coming from, again? OP mentions Facebook, but doesn't link to anything and I can't seem to find an official Fire Emblem page.

Impressions seem to be positive, one of the better games in the series.

Also, Pokemon.

I love my Pokemon too, and I realize I might be in the minority, but for me, Fire Emblem is the premier Nintendo franchise. It's like 25% of the reason why I even buy Nintendo platforms. Pokemon is fun, but after B/W and B/W2 I have some pokemon fatigue.

There's a new trailer NoA uploaded about building your army.

Can't wait for the demo tomorrow!
Man, this looks so good. SRPGs never seem to click with me, but without fail, Fire Emblem always manages to hook me. All this stuff with support and pairing sounds amazing.

I hope the demo will let you play around a bit with character creation options, but I won't be too upset either way.

Well, at least he looks more battle worthy then Brom, PoR and RD's equivalent country-boy knight.

(Actually, Brom was pretty awesome in my last PoR playthrough.)

Looks a bit like Wreck'it Ralph... (that's a bonus point for me )
I just found the game for sale, but I haven't started playing it yet. It'll make the Pal version wait more tolerable.

The art in the game is so beautiful. So are the sprites <3

It's a shame the 3d models in battles are really fugly. Can't wait for the demo tommorrow.

No, dude. You need to use him and get him killed in his first battle.

eff no I may not like certain characters but I never send anyone in FE to their death ;_;
That's inhumane. That's freaking barbaric.

It's in my nature to ensure that I soft reset when a character dies. Such is my honor.

Except fucking Sophia. Fuck that piece of shit.

They have a mode in the game that just may change your mind about not finishing it.

Yeah, it's not the perma-death thing. SRPGs are really fun for the first 5-6 hours, then the game seems to open up too much for me and I get lost in all the stats/classes/weapons, my brain overloads, and I quit. Happens in FF Tactics, Advance Wars, Fire Emblem, Tactics Ogre-- this game looks too good to pass up, though.

I miss having truly terrible characters.

Anyone who doesn't want spoilers, beware the comment thread for that video. Some jerk posted a major spoiler right before I watched it a couple of hours ago, so it was at the top of the comments, and I just glanced down and read it before I had a clue. :/

Has the DLC been confirmed for NA? I will only be picking the game up once I can get the Mich DLC.

Yeah, they have confirmed that DLC will be coming. I believe they haven't mentioned the pricing expect that the first set will be free or something for a limited time.

Well with the no perma-death you could probably go through the game without using most of that stuff.
