That article is mind blowing. I refuse to believe that Te'o had no idea what was going on. He was in on the lie, I just have no idea what compels someone to do this.

Notre Dame found out on Dec. 26 that this was a hoax and decided not to stop it? Bullshit!! They were probably in on it and were happy about the publicity. This blows my mind.

Considering all the publicity, how did we not find out sooner that it was all a hoax? With social media and Internet detectives everywhere, it's kind of surprising the hoax lasted this long.

Pretty strict, yeah. No drugs, alcohol, pre-marital sex, or anything deemed illegal, obviously. There's more to it than that, but it's basically a strict policy that players have to agree to live by. Every year a few players get dismissed for issues.

I don't see how they can go along with that story, she was supposedly in the hospital yet he didn't visit her? He didn't realize that the person he met wasn't the same person in the twitter pictures?

You know, guys. It's not Te'o's fault that this girl wanted to break up with him and didn't have the strength of character to do it to his face the right way. Instead, she had to create this elaborate hoax of being in a car wreck, having Leukemia, and then dying with no funeral in order to avoid discussing their relationship with him. She's a real piece of work and, I agree, with Notre Dame, that Te'o is the real victim here.

Wouldn't he have noticed the pictures floating around of her that weren't real? He can't be that stupid. He definitely played along and Notre Dame is just in spin mode.

Reading the article with all the twists and turns and people involved, I'm more surprised he was caught. How brilliant it was to use a random girl off facebook to hold up a sign with the girlfriends acronym to seal the deal.
