Vita PSN Game & Service Thread 2

If anyone is looking for a cheap case, I got one of these off ebay for $4 and fully recommend it.

It's a hardcase very similar to my Hori 3DS LL case. It's a bit bigger than it needs to be (height wise) but I guess you could pack earphones in there if you wanted to. It has slots for game cards also. Anyway, for $4 you can't go wrong.

For Europe, the first game has changed and the second is next week (Pinball Arcade). Then it'll be the second half of February before there's another change.

2 of the titles are basically "the essentials" that most Vita players might want to own and they stay in their slots for a longer period (talking many months)
 
I haven't played a DOA game since the Dreamcast days. I'll buy the digital version maybe over the summer my Vita backlog is starting to become an issue.

It seems really hard at first but it really is just going through all the pursuit challenges and just whittling away at all your times. I found most of my buggy/rally car challenges were really bad with times, so I just went through all of them.
 
Finally got my Vita and after trying numerous times to connect I find out about the scheduled maintenance. Damn Sony, you could have mentioned that after the tenth time of adding my password.

It took a bit to get them down because of all the canceling in the combos, learning the timings, but more importantly the positioning you want to the enemy character in to continue the combo. It's unlike most combos in that you are changing your timing almost every time you complete the combo because its so many hits.

I'm not great by any stretch of the imagination, especially online with the vita. Drop a lot of combos i wouldn't offline, but ya know.

I was using alternate controls to do vergil sword loops (map light to right trigger) but this seemed to throw off my other 2 characters more than loops helped.

I have no combo's to be honest and i've been wanting to put time into the game but my backlog is giving me stress. Still if you want some matches let me know.

It looks like the PSP game is changing next week. I don't think Uncharted, Gravity Rush and Wipeout 2048 will change anytime soon, as they've been using these in advertisements.
 
Hi guys, new user here. Have my Vita since October, and this thread is what made me buy one :)

Currently I'm only playing P4G, struggling to get that damn "Hardcore Risette Fan" trophy.

how are you liking the vita? do you have ps+ lots of good freebies there to dive into and try out some other games if all you have is P4g

I really like it. I'm glad this thread exists, because all you hear on the internet is "Vita nas no gamez" and stuff like that. And I didn't have a PSP, so even if it really is doomed, I still have a HUGE backlog.

I do have PS+, but I want to get P4G platinum before I start anything else. My 8GB card doesn't allow me to download many games.
 
Damn. I ordered one from Target last night, then decided I wanted a white one for sure, so I cancelled it. Then I ordered that one from Gamestop and, hesitating again, cancelled that one in favor of saving some money. So I ordered from Target again, and again, cancelled just before the item went into processing. Why? I don't know. I guess to see if I could look around and find better deals somewhere.

So today I finally decided to hell with it, I'm getting the white one, it's the color I want. I go to order it, and just before I add it to my cart, the electric goes out (we got fucked by snow today, I mean absolutely fucked) and when the electric came back on, they were sold out.

The moral of this story is don't fuck around.

I am prettttttttty sure that it is more likely that whoever ends up getting that elusive Vita of yours is sadly going to have it blow up in their face. You came soooooo close. You are lucky. I learned this from Final Destination.

First of all PS+ launched on November 19th, meaning at this time less than 2 months have occurred since the launch of PS+ on the vita :P

Second PS+ launched with
uncharted
gravity rush
wipeout
tales from space
jet set radio
and final fantasy tactics.

which is only 6 games :P

of those Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack left dec 24th Retro City Rampage replaced it
Jet Set Radio left the 31st of dec, Chronovolt replaced it
and Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions will be leaving on the 22nd... meaning at 2 months and 3 days in 50% of the games will have changed, though you are correct that only 2 have changed in general so far. If patterns hold it seems ps vita games will be changing at the end of the months.

They were upfront in general though that uncharted and gravity rush won't be going anywhere for a long time (likely not until E3) as for wipeout who knows... they have used it in some ads as well but it could easily be changed.

hopefully that makes you feel less like they are changing only 28% of the games in 3 months time :P

I put a bunch of :P in there trying to make sure that you know I am in no way frustrated with you, I just usually feel the need to make complete and thought out statements and correct misinformation after I wake up.... I am weird I know lol

I'd buy a second hand white model, I don't really care about Liberation after Revelations was a snorefest and avoiding AC3 over the borderline unanimous awful impressions. I'm just very particular about condition. I wouldn't want to spend that much on a used one and find some scratches or wear on it.

I want to play Dragon Quest VIII, Champions of Norrath and Gradius V!

I have no idea what keeps them from emulating PS2 games on the Vita, but all I know is that I would spend way too much money if they ever launched a PStwo classics section for PSN.

Nice! I bought mine yesterday and it should be coming in on Saturday along with Ragnarok Odyssey, Persona 4 Golden, Playstation All-Star and Sonic All-Star racing. Really excited.

my only guess now is they are holding tight to the ps2 games so they can launch them during ps4 generation... that or HD remakes negotiations. both are square though right? ugh..... typical SE bs.

you know it's also quite possible that getting them to work on the vita would require a decent amount of reprogramming like the ps3 versions did and that it doesn't easily transfer over, or the vita in general could be to weak to emulate ps2 games. the vita is a nice piece of tech, but a ps3 it is not.

I would kill for Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy on my Vita. Even Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII (PSP).
 
Well, after last time, I finally bought a new Vita!
Came with LBP, and I got PSASBR added on for free.

I'm loving it, entirely blown away by graphics, and how fun it is. I'm not a big fan of the rear touch yet. Soundshapes level making tutorial was abit meh, for that.

I have U:GA, Gravity Rush, Soundshapes, Rayman Origins, LBP and PSASBR.

Feel free to add me, PSN Abylim.
Was abit bummed when I found out I couldnt transfer games that my friend bought, or had got through plus, but I subbed to plus.

So far loving it!!

Speaking of PS+, how often do they change the games? I'm thinking about buying 3 month's worth. Being able to play through games like Uncharted and Gravity Daze (which are the kind of games you'd play once and never again) sounds pretty damn good.
