As a Digimon connoisseur the focus of Digimon is more on monster detail in miniscule stuff - muscles, veins, etc. are more focused and detailed. It's not "overdesigned" which is spewed by ignorant people. If Blaziken is a "Digimon" it would have a more detailed, muscular body (assuming it's a male) for starters. The Blaziken comparison got it wrong because a "humanoid" Digimon would generally have a detailed humanoid body. You just don't put on pants and say "Digimon", or else Scrafty is a Digimon too

Ahaha! I love it. I don't hate Digimon (well, the early stuff), but I feel this is quite a good display of the art-style difference between the series.

The difference is mostly monster design and art style focus, and one isn't inherently better than the other. There is no "this is Digimon" crap but then again said people probably never seen Digimon outside of a few pics and parody images anyway.

The pixies are far worse than these three. Terrakion is awesome. Also the 4th member Keldo is par superior to the stupid Moon Duck.

Eggy is really cool and it has a massive movepool. It has some pretty lovely resist too, but has an Abomasnow like 7 weaknesses.

tbqh Terrakion doesn't even look bad in the anime - it's just that the angle there.

They increased the number of legendary for gameplay reasons and for the anime tie ins. The later generations were able to reveal one legendary per year, hyping a big "new pokemon", even without new games out. And the later games also have more post-game legendaries to be caught by the player.
They could reduce the number of new legends for post-game by going with the "new old region" set up from Gold and Silver, but it doesn't seem like they ever want to do that again...
Reshiram and Zekrom were used by ancients kings to build their kingdom, that's it. They aren't comparable to the god-like legendaries we've seen in gen 3 and gen 4 in terms of backstory. Kyurem is initially introduced as some kind of alien Pokemon that absorbs life, but in B2/W2, it's said that it's the remains of an original legendary Pokemon which eventually split into all three legendaries from B/W.
Well, the Gen 3 legends were much bigger though. The main focus there was forming continents and oceans, which obviously involved changing the weather. The Gen 5 weather trio was just about manipulating the weather.

I always think Cobalion is missing arms when I glance at him. His front legs look like humanoid legs, and the back half of his body doesn't really register in my brain when I look over him really quickly.And the most SHIT trio

Oh I know he's a kaiju expy (Godzilla) but he sorta fits too - short arms and whatnot.
I'd really, really, REALLY love to see that happen. I can't wait for Miiverse on 3DS, especially thinking how it could be implemented in games like Pokémon.
