I don't get the love for Scrafty, and I generally like the Gen V Pokémon. Is it because of the anime or something?

Looking at Google images, the idea of an Hercules beetle evolution for Pinsir does indeed seem very popular.
Well, I think Scrafty is a really cool Pokemon, but I think part of it(at least on gaf) has to do with the user "ScraftyDevil." His enthusiasm and overall good nature gives me a more positive outlook on Scrafty as a whole. I've had the opposite effect work on other Pokemon I really like though because certain users LOL.
Also TAM there's already a Pinsir evolution:

I think Gen V was the best one at making cool Pokémon. Braviary is cool but it's like he doesn't stand out at all.
Scrafty is an awesome Pokemon by design, for in game playthroughs and in the competitive scene. His only short coming is he didn't receive Sucker Punch this generation. But there's always next.
edit: Gen V has too many good Pokemon for me to pick just one. It would be easier for me to list the handful I don't like than the hundred I do.

Scrafty actually has a presence in VGC instead of the terrible Smogon metagame. Take that.
I like Lucario quite a bit.. I have two physical variants and one special one in my trained Pokemon, but he doesn't compare to Scrafty's awesomeness

Lucario looks like someone decided to stick every single thing they thought it looked cool and edgy in a Pokémon while simultaneously making a Sonic friend. Kyurem Black and Kyurem White actually look underdesigned compared to him, and they look like Digimons so they got another cool point.
Fuck you Lucario, you don't deserve your Steel typing.

Not my favorite but it definitely feels like they made the coolest ones.
Hydreigon, Escavalier, Volcarona, Haxorus, Eelektross, Archeops and a lot more do look very cool. It's got lots of weird stuff, but on average it shows they learned from Gen IV that picking a Pokémon and making it evolve into a fatter version of itself doesn't make it cooler. Except for Emboar for some reason. Cuz making an awesome Fire/Ground Ganon-like boar wasn't as cool as another fat Fire/Fighting starter, I guess.
All I'm asking for Gen VI is a Dark type classical looking Dark or Dark/Flying Demon Pokémon, a Bug legendary, a Poison legendary and motherfucking Pinsir evolved.
Fire /Ground is great typing? I ask because with the metagame all around water and weather right now wouldnt he just get nuked faster?
He'd be like Charizard when getting hit by Rock Slide. :lol

I don't know too much about standards, but I do play Ubers, which has a similar thing with weather (though Sun is stronger in Ubers than OU because Groudon is awesome). Fire / Ground can actually be a pretty good offensive typing provided that the Pokemon is fairly fast. While the 4x water weak sucks, STAB Earthquake means you aren't completely helpless in the rain, plus you're now neutral to Stealth Rock! Smashing Heatran and being immune to Thunder is also a nice bonus. The real problem with Fire / Ground at the moment is just that Camerupt is slow as shit, so it makes really poor use of its typing. Also because of that, I have a feeling that Emboar would have made really poor use of Fire / Ground as well. TBH, Emboar might prefer being a Fire / Steel type, yeah it'd have serious competition with Heatran, but thats better than being the worst Fire / Fighting...
