Ni No Kuni Collector's Edition for EU/NA [failure level well beyond critical mass]

I ordered on the 17th and I got my shipping email last night. My order status has also been updated to 'Order Complete' on the Namco store page. I didn't receive a tracking number or even word on who they are shipping through but I think that is because I am in Canada.

You're the second Canadian I think who got shipping from the restock. I wonder if Canadians got priority for the restock cuz Canada wasn't a shipping option during the original preorder batch. Bamco added that in later after people complained.
 
People who ordered in the Ninostarter thing are getting theirs cancelled?

This is probably a bad thing to say in this thread but I really hope mine is cancelled. It's a nice package but not worth the UPS fees to me.

But it already has a shipping label so...

like many of you, i ordered the item within the first 10 minuets when they reopen the preorder chance on 17/01/13, put my visa credit card info, chose the standard shipping method 5-7 days and waited like anyone else..

on 22/01/2013 my CC charged fully with $118.55

the order is on process UNTIL THIS VERY MOMENT

how come 2 msgs within 1 minute have different contents?????

my only thought was that the people who selected shipping speed faster that standard shipping, gonna have their items shipped first, and the people who selected slower shipping speed have lower priority to have their orders completed, and for the people with standard shipping, it's up to their luck to have a copy or getting cancelled.

I'm hypothesizing at this point, but given the Ninostarter campaign it would make sense if Namco used DR's report of how many orders were taken to determine how many WEs to produce. So if DR reported bad numbers because their system is a poorly-coded crock of shit—which it is—stock issues would inevitably result. I'm also inclined to think that LiK is right about the "restock" being canceled orders from the first preorder period, which might have been okay if orders hadn't been canceled due to DR's shitty system not being able to handle address or CC changes. (To be fair, there was probably some overage in there too since manufacturers have to allow for damaged goods...) Either way I don't think the extra copies should have been put up for sale until all previous orders had been completely sorted.

I might be wrong, but given that every single LE release I've seen DR distribute has run into serious issues, I'm more inclined to blame them than NB.

That sounds like the most likely scenario. I really like what Namco was Trying to do with Ninostarter but I really hope they don't use DR in the future.
 
If I check my order status and it gives me the "label has been created", can I assume I'm safe? I ordered as soon as it opened up to Canada and I'm going to be pissed if I don't get it.

The thread has been going pretty fast. Lots of dissatisfied people. So sorry it's been missed.

The "My Order History" page is updating for some people, but not all. Some say you can add another game to your cart and go through the purchase process (but don't really buy it) and it updates.

You can also use your order number as the Reference number in UPS tracking to see if you have a shipping label created.

My Order page has been the same since August and I've gotten no updates. But if I look in UPS tracking with my order number, I can see the shipping label has been created.

I hope this helps.
 
Even though I got the Digital River apology email, I can still look up my order status/invoice. Of course nothing there has changed (still shows SOLD OUT - blah blah blah blah).

But it's not an option for me. My English is very poor and I don't have a way to get to the closest CBSA office.
 
I ordered in August and have not gotten any emails since then. My order status hasn't been changed and I have no idea what is going on with it ;p. It will be incredibly crappy if they actually cancel orders made in July-August, while a few people who ordered recently got a shipped order....

All I know is that if my order gets cancelled, they lost a sale. I might pick up the game eventually if it ever gets discounted decently, or I will buy it used. Not going to support Bandai Namco ;p.

I didn't realize I needed to do the UPS check by reference # - a label has been created at least so it sounds promising.

Checking in today, no emails no change in the order status still says in process. I can't believe overnight it went live again and let more orders go through. I see the site is crashing all over now they can't manage sites for shit good lord.
 
Man, such a shame. Microsoft had the same problems with Digital River with the launch of the Surface RT. I hope that this company won't handle any new product launches. So many fuck ups...

I don't think anyone has ever had a good experience with DR. I remember how crappy their service was for a Windows 7 student promotion years ago.
 
It stinks that so many people are getting the shaft on this one but I was finally able to get a confirmation on my order this morning. For reference, I ordered way back in June of 2012 so my assumption has always been that the order would go through but until this morning I really didn't know for sure.

Anyway, according to UPS it's on the truck for delivery today. I guess I'll see for sure once I get home from work tonight.
 
I just checked my email and my order got cancelled. Oh well wasn't sure I was goin to get it since I ordered 20 mins (in a meeting when it went live) afterwards but at least I was able to get in on the steelbook.

I know this is going to sound pretty silly and it still doesn't solve your transportation issue, but...could you just pretend that you're mute (damaged vocal cords or something) and write what you'd like to say to the CBSA? Maybe mail a letter or send an e-mail?

Your written English is easily at a native speaker's level. I never would have guessed it wasn't your first tongue until you said so.
 
So I called the number. I'm still nowhere. I asked them very politely and innocently "I understand this game was released this week. I was just wondering...I haven't received an update on when I'm supposed to get this. Could you provide any information?"

I got the "Oh, sir,you will have to wait for more information on this blah blah blah." So I asked "Do I at least know for sure I will be getting this?" and he gave me the same answer. I thought some of you were exaggerating about how messy this experience is, but sheesh.
 
OK im confused if we got an email saying our order was cancelled by DR is it official? I mean it's cancelled and we wont get it ?

Im hearing that cancellation email was sent by error to some customers so WTF is going on ?

A new order number just poped-up on my order history (did not do anything) and it says in process and it is Ni No Kuni 0_o

I should have listened to myself and get it from Zavii while they still had the WE in-stock damn it

So using my order number in the UPS reference number, it says I have a shipping label. So that means I'll get it eventually right?

Wow, the amount of fail is even worse than I anticipated based on how many folks were groaning because Digital River was handling the process when this was initially put to preorder last year.

The worst thing they did was let people in on buying it again, especially if they weren't sure if they had the stock to accommodate everyone. You would think they'd anticipate tons of people preordering it now since they potentially missed out on it last time and there have been a lot of positive buzz around the game...way more than when they opened up the preordering in June.

Ohhhh I just checked my spam folder and there was one "You placed your order too late so we'll send you a real cancellation email in a bit" email. Sooooo uh....yeah. I did have two on order so maybe that's why? It was from 12 hours ago.
 
Yeah, the best part is that, even though a shipping label has been printed, I can see that the city name is still technically wrong on it, which is the thing that I called them to correct and that the dude swore to me was all good over the phone afterward.

I think that UPS will still get it right (it's a weird suburb/zoning thing with the city name), but man... they're just bad at their job.

Just woke up and my Wizard edition is on the ups truck in my town and out for delivery. This awful experience is almost over for me. hope you all end up getting yours soon too.
