Some of the rock columns are not rocks... That looks like a building tower (center) and the base has walls and a gun turret pointing towards the water to the right

Some of those towers are just rocks others have very detailed man-made structure I will have to zoom in for more of them

EDIT: that is not a water basin looking at it in motion the Doll is way up on one of those sawtooth landmarks

Those kind of remind me of some structures in the unused area from Xenoblade. The Bionis left shoulder, I think.

Possible Endgame Spoilers - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l86GCaqZuxY

You see some towers at 30 seconds in.

There's also an unused village at about 10:47 into the video.

Notice the extra set of turrets way in the distance. I think the one with the Doll-bike is taken far to the east of the waterfalls, on the other side of the arched rock formation, looking west towards the structure, while the screen with the Anficoerius having its head cut off is taken from near the waterfalls, somewhere north-west of the structure with the camera pointing south-east.

The Xenoblade beta map is a beauty to explore.

I just want this fucking game. Now!

Xenoblade gave me a feeling I haven't felt in a long, long time. A sense of adventure - something I haven't felt since the PS1 days (not to that degree, that is). The first JRPG I've ever played was FFVII, and somehow, many years and many JRPGs later, Xenoblade finally delivered on the promise Square made many years ago. That's why Xenoblade will always have a very special place in my heart.

I hope this game lets you have custom mechs. That would be cool. I wonder how the main characters will work, are they actual characters or custom created? Questions, questions...

Oh yeah, those two are definitely the same. What about that brown-ish one in Smiles and Cries' pics. That would be a different one, correct?

What's a "stealth sequel"?

Others mentioned spiritual successors, but there's also actual cases of new games turning out to be continuations of previous games by same devs, more or less blatantly. For example IIRC Flower, Sun and Rain is a continuation of The Silver Case but you wouldn't know it unless you actually play quite a bit of it. Or how Nier actually ties into one of Drakengard's endings.

Those are gross. Please stahp.

Though nice finds of course.

Ah, so some of you think that "X" might tie into Gears, Saga, or Blade in a similar fashion?

Also, I didn't take the time to make the comparison before, but I have now, and that area that the doll flies off from, am I wrong in thinking it makes even Gaur Plains look puny? O_O

Vagrant Story being set in Ivalice is another example of that.

Damn this is like a continued refinement of the FFXII formula but in actual next-gen terms with truly free roam world powers and crazy amounts of originality

I feel like the world has aligned temporarily and all is alright

Well my interest in the wiiU has peaked from "will eventually get when its bargain bin cheap" to "you surpassed my expectations, I am impressed".

I haven't touched my wii in over 2 years so I hope I don't go wrong on this one, but I am a sucker for mech games and this looks like a good single player campaign mixed with a beautiful open world.

I was hoping for a rerelease of SMG 1 &2 in HD, but I am totally happy with Wind waker in HD since I never finished that.

Now, I will anticipate the release date. The upcoming 3D mario and smashbros/mario kart is icing on the cake.

Well if you look at the arching feature to the right of the first pic I posted, what Smiles found should be north of that, while the colony/base is south of it. No idea if what he has is a base or turret or natural feature though.

Yeah, I was surprised when I noticed the turrets myself. Makes me wonder what else we might all be missing.

No. It looks too good in motion to reduce the saturation now. :P

Yeah, I think the area as a whole will be much bigger than Gaur Plains.

Vagrant Story being set in Ivalice is another example of that.

I wouldn't put it in the same category because it hints at a common setting but doesn't continue the story though. It's set far enough from the FFT setting that you could consider it the usual FF name recycling/homage thing.

Ah, so some of you think that "X" might tie into Gears, Saga, or Blade in a similar fashion?
I really just think it might tie into Blade, but for Saga and Gears it'll merely paraphrase, like Blade did.

Could someone refresh my memory on endgame Xenoblade spoilers?

Did one or both giants fall (on their backs) at the end? I can't remember. Or did the Mechonis just get completely destroyed?
