If Smash wins I'll be surprised if there isn't a cap. Even just 300 players would take forever to finish, and that's a very achievable number for Smash. Which is what I dislike about the whole donation drive thing, if the EVO organizers want to add Smash to the lineup they are going to need commitment and a willingness to invest long term in the Smash community.

Supporting a game doesn't have anything to do with playing it. I'd be willing to bet that for many of the games, the majority of people donating wouldn't be competing in the game they chose if it won the donation drive.

Not really. From what I am reading. They said that SkullGirl already saved 3K for Donation but they haven't donate it yet. Once they donated that 3K, then they will be 3K ahead.
Well that's incredibly stupid. It's not like other people don't KNOW that they have all this "secret money." All this does is let them justify not donating. Yes, it's a competition, but playing secret guessing games just means breast cancer research gets less money.

Pretty sure Kadey's stream is what Twitch use as the ultimate test to optimise their servers. But yes they still have a long way to go.
Smash should save it. In a way I think they should wait for the SG counterattack to see where they are at.

Even when I try to watch a 1 minute clip from her stream it takes like 30 minutes to load completely. AND if I press pause and wait too long for it to load, when I press play it'll start loading from scratch again. If I pause it a little and try to skip the fight intros it'll start loading from scratch again. All I can do is press play and watch a very slow HD powerpoint slideshow.

I understand that, but here's what's happening:
Skullgirls holds back, therefore Melee holds back. True neither side knows how much the other side has, but the real loser here is Breast Cancer Research.
Compare that to the situation where Skullgirls pours all their current money in now, then Melee matches it (which it has been doing). Now Skullgirls has to pour more money in and then Melee has to match that. (And so on...). Now, instead of this big game of chicken, a lot more money gets put into Breast Cancer Research since a lot more people will be wanting to donate for their game.
