why would Punk fight Taker now?

if he still had his belt they could do a streak vs streak thing.

and he just lost a peoples elbow. yes wrestling is fake but it has to be believable to a certain extent otherwise it's completely retarded. Taker matches are nothing but a WWE 13 match with infinite finishers. If Punk can't even take an elbow, a tombstone would kill him.

If they were gonna go with the Rock winning route, I wish they at least made it interesting by flipping the Shield attack. Would it have hurt for Punk to hit the GTS and then Shield to power bomb him through the table as defiance for what he said on SmackDown? At least it would have added some intrigue into this otherwise bland night.

They could have cut all the bullshit all together and just let Rock win cleanly if they really wanted to put him over, but to a Rock Bottom, not a damn elbow drop.

And most people wouldn't even be mad if Punk at least had some decent, credible wins as a champ, but they made him talk one way, and wrestle another. And all of this is for Cena lol.

So, if things go as predicted, what we learn is that HHH and Cena will never ever let anyone go over them. Even when they do, they don't.

I'm thinking they never intended to do anything with a Ziggler title reign, hence why he still hasn't cashed in. He is the White Kofi Kingston.

Anyways, the Daniel Bryan/Kane bit was so good. Crowd was all into Bryan and Jericho, and even Punk moreso than the Rock.

The crowd knows whats up. But they keep letting us down!

I don't care about what draws in casual fans that come back for one night. The rest of the year I want quality programming. The WWE is like watching some ELSE watch paint dry. The main event was weak, the rumble was a waste of time, and the last man standing was as cookie cutter as it could've been. Bleh to all of it.

The rumble was filled with great spots. Kofi, Bryan/Kane, Jericho, Goldust/Cody, and Dolph looked like a champ. Saying the main event was weak is odd as well. Punk looked great against one of the all time best, and the crowd was really into it.

Why? Because someone has to job to Taker.

1. Watch one of the numerous promotions out there that still pride themselves on promoting great wrestling. NJPW, AJPW, PWG, CHIKARA, Dragon Gate, DGUSA, NOAH, EVOLVE, AAW, ROH, ACW, AIW, DDT, etc.

Seriously. I don't understand why people are always talking about quitting wrestling when there are so many alternatives out there.

I wonder if Jericho is back for a WM match or just for the Rumble. They had him last an awfully long time for it to just be a one time thing, but who knows with Jericho.

It remains intact.

You know what? I bet Ryback went up to Kane, who was honestly worried about his record being forgotten, and patted him on the shoulder. He then said "you Glen, I don't think I'm ready to handle the burden of that record. Maybe next year, but not now."

And Kane, with a hearty sigh that comes with years of experience in This Business,™ shakes Ryback's hand and agrees. And in the back of his mind...he says "thanks Ryback."

The wrestling action was good tonight. I honestly stopped giving a fuck about the booking in WWE a while ago because that's not going to change anytime soon.

Anyone interested in quitting should..

1. Quit (obviously)
2. Forget to tune into Raw and Smackdown
3. Skim through results on any wrestling news website later in the week.
4. Roll your eyes and sigh
5. Get on with your day

Optional

6. Watch old WWF videos from the Attitude Era and reminisce
.

fuck yeah

i'm watching 2001 right now

shit is so good

Who are these great guys?

What are their gimmicks that make them great?

WWE doesn't build memorable guys anymore.

Well...

I won't stop watching because people I am attached to and whose careers I want to follow are in WWE, that being the likes of Daniel Bryan (I will not be happy until he is given the WWE title, no one in the company deserves it more), Antonio Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler and AJ Lee, Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Wade Barrett, all the terrific guys in NXT, and even guys like Alberto Del Rio have me invested now.

I like all these guys. I don't think they need absurd over the top gimmicks to be memorable, those are for instant gratification only. Daniel Bryan made non stop shit stories into gold all through 2012. WWE gives people no help any more, it's true, so these guys are people who get themselves over or make themselves interesting.

These are people I want to see get pushes, be given the ball, passed the torch, etc. They're great talents that could make a great product.

yep I honestly haven't watched regularly since before hbk retired flair. and I haven't missed much, I just buy old school dvd releases, and watch shoot interviews about the old days. The new product just sucks.

Not gonna lie when Edge retired I just said whatever......He was kind of the thrill for me watching WWE especially Smackdown.

HHH's last two matches were losses, and Cena has been losing and never touched the belt for more than a year, including against Dolph.

What now?

Cena's been losing. When?

What, TLC? The ladder match where AJ's betrayal cost him the match? That really put over Dolph, especially the two straight weeks of Cena burying him in singles matches after that.

Well...

HHH
Rock
Stone Cold
Mick Foley
HBK
Jericho
Taker

All had excellent gimmicks and the company had a bunch of mid carders that were sick too.

Hardy Boyz
Edge
Christian

The list goes on....

Miz's gimmick is that he is AWESOOOOOOOOOME

K Kwik walks around with an imaginary kid.

Orton pounds his fists to power up.

If anything, what you all should really be mad about is how Kane was in the Royal Rumble and didn't eliminate a single person, as if to save HBK's record.

Be mad about that, because I was. Even though the spot right after that was hilarious.

I like your fan fiction.

I imagine it also went something like this. Vince told Ryback he was breaking the record, then right before the match, he saw Kane, got sentimental, went up to GGG and said, "You know what? Forget it. I love you too much to have him break your record. By the way, I'm also adding a segment that confirms that you have a large penis."

Stone Cold isn't much different from say, Punk. He's just the real guy turned up. HBK, the same, and Jericho at times.

They're not "gimmicky" in the sense of say, the Godfather or whoever. The best wrestling characters, generally, are the ones that feel like real people. Over the top people, yeah, but real characters.

TSN Law Radio likes The Rumble AND The Rock/Cena match.

eff you NeoGAF.

One of them just said they thought the endings to both were crap. I was enjoying the Rumble until the last stretch. I thought Rock/Punk was a solid match til the dumb ending(s).

i would hope jericho and hbk arent the same in real life

He didn't win any of the title rematches again Punk, including MitB cash-in which never happened to anyone before, lost against Rock. Ziggler losing on RAW is what he does, aside from a win here and there.

You do have to give him some due for not holding any titles for so long.
