Security guard's dialogue, by my count:

Code:
     Text Count
"Back it up".................14
"You betta' back it up"......12
"I'll hit chu'"..............11
"Stay out"....................7
"I got chu'"..................6

Well they can't say they didn't receive any warnings.

That guy shouldn't be a security guard. Not that I feel bad at all for the woman being tazed, but why was he standing there screaming at her and shit? Tell them they need to leave before the cops are called, then stand there and watch them. What is the point of standing there getting in a screaming match with her instead of just cooling the situation down by not participating?

He told her to back it up.

Where can I buy this FPS?
I want to pretend that this is a gif of an upcoming video game.

Call of Duty: Mall Cops

Is this Resident Evil 5?

*ducks*

Is the security guard still alive?

It looked like in the video that the "father" pointed at him like he was holding a gun, and told him he would be back around 6...

Their behaviour is unacceptable, but what caused this exactly? It cannot have been based purely on this specific encounter for them to react so vehemently and so persistently. At one point in the video, I was wondering whether they were actually upset by this man or whether they were already heated up due to a prior incident. Perhaps they saw this man as a window to release their angst at?

Regardless, the most tragic thing about this video was where I realised these kids are going to have it tough in life.

All snarkiness aside, these are some really good points to ponder upon.

A bit O/T, Jason/Meus, wth happened with your lovely Kristin Kreuk avatar? I've admired it reading your thoughtful and insightful posts even before I got approved for many moons!

A security guard's primary role is to guard the premises, not walk away from displays of aggression and threats. Considering the amount of times he tried to tell them to leave, or back off, I doubt anything he could have said would have lowered their emotions.

Guards do not walk away from displays of aggression and threats, rather they confront them to try and diffuse them.

He diffused the situation.

Isn't that the girl that did the SWIPE YO EBT song? That was some ghetto ass hoodrich shit right there. And the sad thing is that I had this feeling it would be some waste of a human life that had entitlement and assitude.

I literally worked around the corner from there in the early 00s. The big building with the greenish looking glass is the Federal Building. I know exactly where this took place.

The streets around there are some scary shit. It's like I Am Legend after 5pm.

He did his job. He stood his ground. I wouldn't have much trust in a guard if he were the type to merely walk away from threats.

Pretty much this. He gave plenty of warnings too, needless to say.

Yet she was the one putting her self out there like she wanted to get physical with the guy.

Shame he cared more about her kid then she did.

Praying on the mercy of her enemy. What I don't understand is why she didn't stop her child from screaming in the first place? He wouldnt have said anything if it wasn't a disturbance

Hero of the day didn't say the guard should have walked away. He explicitly said he could have stood there silently, but not continued to engage them verbally. I don't blame the guard because they were clearly in the wrong so fuck them but he didn't choose the least confrontational approach. I'd imagine his employer would prefer that he avoid tasing people if at all possible.

My problem was when he walked away, she remained outside the store yelling shit, and he walked back to start yelling at her again. She didn't come back in the store, either ignore her or call the cops (unless she tries coming back into the store). Like I said, what's the point of going back out there just to rejoin the screaming match?

Exactly. Walk away and watch the entrance, if she tries to re-enter, then taser the shit out of her. If all she's doing is standing outside and screaming, let her scream, or call the cops to come remove her. Nothing good is going to come from re-joining the screaming match. Other than tasing the person, which was pretty funny. So I guess, little good comes from it.

It's not really a security guard's job to take the least confrontational approach, it's their job to deal with situations. In all honesty, he should have tased her sooner.

The only thing he really shouldn't have done was engage her outside the store so much, but even then...

I'm gonna try and say this and not sound patronizing, which is impossible, but I really feel for black women in North America. Growing up the standard of beauty is presented as impossible to you, regardless of size or shape. Your role models are limited, because of legacy of old white dudes ain't exacly producing legions of CEOs or rock stars. AND the matriarchal society inner-city black communities have made to try and deal with these issues means that you're almost expected to do it alone, raising kids without a father figure.

it's fucked up. it's too easy to judge these women with no idea of the circumstances they've been put in since before birth. ANd, as a half-black guy that dates primarily white women, I feel guilt because I know i'm not helping the problem.

First-Person-Coke-drinking made me laugh for some weird reason. But yeah, I think the husband went after the guy a couple of seconds after the fact, he probably did it to save face.

Dude, who you date doesn't make you part of the problem you described.

Edit: It's hard for people even hear this at the moment but this isn't how all black women behave in the inner city. There is a vicious cycle in play that seems to popularize the portrayal of this behavior to the general public.

Something needs to be done about these ghetto people I can't fucking stand them. What will it take for them to stop talking/acting like that? I wanna say more mandatory education in the slums but I dunno.

She got what she deserved though and that scene where she gets tased and drops to the ground while her kids scream in horror is fucking hillarious.

Yeah... I don't know if I feel the same about that part. Kinda kills the mood, but that's just me.

That's just me...

Sure it could have.
