Again I wonder what kind of side tournament you could have thrown had you organized that money (or half) in a way that you could spend it on such.

Nothing that would have changed the perception of your average stream monster or FGC person. Still would be a GREAT idea for next year. The scene has clearly showed they have the money. Maybe Mike and them should do another drive next year. They could donate half and spend the rest on a kickass side tournament with a nice 3k pot or something.
