I'm not saying it will?

I just think Melee will bring in a lot of unique entrants and some of them will enter SFIV and UMvC3. Skullgirls fans will likely go to EVO regardless of the outcome.

What are your predictions?

A thousand tops for Melee. Three hundred and fifty tops for Skullgirls. About 800 and 300 is what I expect from each on a good day. I think anything from 800 to 1k is spectacular. Anything past that and I'll be amazed by Melee players' deep pockets.

You are right about the mix with Smash. They'll definitely play a little SFIV and UMvC3 if given the chance.

It's hard to get new blood to sign an old contract. TTT2 looks like the sort of thing that should happen as a gift to fans before they move on to something new. I could look at TTT2 as the game to play for years to come(which is what I'll do when I get this broke PS3 replaced ugh) if I want great oldschool Tekken. I think it's about time for the franchise to have it's own RE4 of sorts.

I don't think it's really that hard to get into Tekken. People over exaggerate how difficult it is. Or maybe they come from a background with 8 moves in a command list and get overwhelmed when they see 170 moves. I don't know. Whatever the reason, I just hope more people will start playing the game and start taking it seriously. Especially considering it's one of the most rewarding experiences in gaming you'll have if the right amount of dedication is put in.

In 2007 or so he came over to Sydney and slummed in our tiny Melee side event. I beat him but it was way closer than I expected for a guy who had only played for 2 weeks.

So I can say I beat Justin Wong in something.

(shut up it still counts damnit)

I beat Gamerbee in SC5 at EVO. I don't say that, though. I just say I bodied Gamerbee. No further information is needed. :P
 
Reminds me of when Daigo came down and an exhibition 100-man money match was going on. Daigo vs a chain of 100 players. Went 99-1; the only guy who beat him jumped up and screamed, incredibly happy, and said something to the effect of how he couldn't wait to watch the footage of the match.

Apparently the camera stopped recording just before his match and it wasn't captured. Ouch.

He used Sheik and yeah, his spacing was impeccable. Very astute fundamentals.
 
I got 4th place at my high school brawl tournament.

and I was fucking pissed I lost since everyone there sucked and the winner got a PS3. the doofus who got it decided to sell it off
 
I won a pre-release Brawl tournament and had a crowd of about 20-25 people chanting my name, then went to Game Crazy and won a Melee tournament. Nobody was there though, so I just used Bowser lol.

Again I wonder what kind of side tournament you could have thrown had you organized that money (or half) in a way that you could spend it on such.
