EVO 2K13 Player's Choice: Donate money to breast cancer and get your favorite game in

Man super turbo community was hiding in the shadows waiting for the perfect time to announce their presence. Its like the true villain revealing himself after the hero thought he just saved the world lol.

To those crying conspiracy. You honestly think people coordinate this type of thing in the open? IRC Illuminati chats, Skype. Yo, it ain't hard to get the legends to move on an opportunity like this.

Hell Kuroppi has been talking about making plans for EVO. If he had planned another Tournament of Legends, he would have already started the qualifiers months ago.

You guys seriously think Melee won't retake the lead in the end?
I'm pretty sure it's over for both Melee and Skullgirls. Out of the three, I would have loved to see Skullgirls win because I feel like they need it the most, but I still would have enjoyed seeing Melee in there for once. Super Turbo, while I have no problem with it, is just old as balls lol. I've seen it a dozen times.

It pisses me off that people are crying over Breast Cancer Research getting money.
It doesn't matter what game gets in, whatever does absolutely deserves it.

I would have preferred SG over Melee. Mainly because I'm curious to see what players do with the game, knowing it could be on the main stage.

But I'm absolutely ecstatic for ST. Loved the Tournament of Legends finals. Can't wait to see the documentary the ST community makes for this tournament. If they win the poll, I hope they come out about the planning.

In the end. Its all for charity. Thats the craziest thing of all. Only videogames would turn a charity drive into something completely out of control

Breast cancer research is definitely a plus but I seriously doubt people care about that.

I know for a fact that if this wasn't for some type of cancer and was just giving money to EVO or something, I wouldn't have donated. The idea is that even if it doesn't win, I at least gave some money to a good cause.

Melee has a few streams (including trihex) doing raffles that haven't finished yet.

That's a few thousand right there.

Sadly, I think it's over for skullgirls. Should have gotten that PC port out, it would have helped to have a larger community.

It's all for charity so in the end doesn't matter who wins. Still crazy that such a large amount of money was gathered by these communities is such a small frame of time.

I want someone to drop 60k on Melty Blood.

It's crazy that the people who organized this ST thing did it in private and no one said a word.

Edit: someone check on Brand X.

I haven't really dedicated my life to altruism, so I don't hold it with such value that I'm perfectly fine with it getting in the way of something's purpose. The Cannon Bros have used their power as the hosts of the world's biggest fighting game tournament to do some noble work. That's nice, but I find the method gross. There is very little sincerity in these donations (it is even passive aggressive at times), just really hopeful people being taken advantage of for a "greater cause". It is going to get pretty ugly when people lose out on what they are pouring all this money for. #raffles

I donated most of my money for Guilty Gear, and I would absolutely love to see it there.
But if it doesn't, why should I be mad? People went in knowing they may or may not get their game of choice there. Nobody was forcing them to donate, but thankfully they took that risk.

Straight up, if Boback goes over to Skullgirls' people and says "you give us your spirit bomb money and we'll host a big tournament for you at Genesis", SG is guaranteed exactly what it wants from EVO while Smash actually has a shot at keeping up with ST.

It's the best shot for both of us.

Shit's about to get real.
