EVO 2K13 Player's Choice: Donate money to breast cancer and get your favorite game in

10k seems like a ridiculous gap to close though, if EVERYONE has last minute snipe plans

I kinda want to donate 21 at the last minute just so Melty beats injustice and 3S :(

What exactly was the narrative? I thought it was just the big guns from two different countries duking it out.
I think it was finally an opportunity to finally see who was really the best. BALA had been crushing all the competition available in North America. And it was finally a chance to see who was the best, which regions were best at KOF13.

When the finals happened, it was perfectly scripted. Like the Heat meeting the Thunder in the NBA finals.

Over 15k was raised last Thursday alone.

Donate twenty to injustice for $89.95.

Well alright.

Just curious what was happening since it seems like it's been stuck at 29k for a few days now, while smash and ST are growing independent of whatever last minute plans either game has.(Which was weird since I figured SG had the more out of community donaters than any other game who would just use the official link)

So was wondering if the community gave up and was backing another game.

Also, they had Mexico VS. Korea at EVO where Korea lost by a mile, MADKof got destroyed by Bala's Billy.

Turned out he was sandbagging and in the grand finals he beat Bala's Billy with a perfect (opening match was it?).

MADKof was also no.1 on PSN, so it was a rare case of an online warrior being able to back his rank.

Why was Injustice even on there since it's still a few months off?

Same reason BBCP is on the list. and MLP until it started winning

I'm pretty sure this whole thing was started because they didn't really care what the last game was. Whatever people voted was fine regardless of release status

Did madkof have a history of being a dominant player or dominating the asian scene?

Have you seen the tweets of each of the top 3? Most of Skullgirls' donations are coming from small pockets. It's pretty disorganized without the guiding hand of Lab Zero Games. They move when Mike gives the "go" since most normal people know about the "ebay" tactic.

Calling a Skullgirls win here, by virtue of having the highest profile donation drive on the last day. Snipes aside, of course.

ST people won't really care. Smash people will riot.

Also, lol at someone suggesting people should donate to save an arcade rather than, you know, that useless cancer

You guys know what is the saddest thing ATM? The donation money could have gone to save Super Arcade instead to useless Breast Cancer research:

Anyone thinking of donating more money should consider donating to this instead.

wat?

come on man, lol. breast cancer research is more important than an arcade.

That said, I'll donate to Super as well (as I did to breast cancer).

wait, gotta throw IMO on this post!!!!

No

My entire perspective of this whole thing is limited to this thread and the leaderboards

which is why I was askin.

I just remembered the links to littlekuriboh and other artists blowing up the donation drive link

and I guess assumed that it would have lead to a bigger increase than it did

Please don't misrepresent your cause by saying shit like this

because I'd think it'd be cool to save arcades personally, but it's not relevant at all to my personal life like breast cancer is(grandmother had it. So mother has a chance of having it)

I hate to say this dude, but I think Skullgirls is done. By the time their Salty Cupcakes stream starts, they'll be at a 10k deficit.

Melee is having its own massive final fundraiser. Who knows how much it will raise, but the absolute minimum I'd expect is 10k (especially since there is almost 6k matching).

Skullgirls would need 20k+ just to beat Melee, and who knows what the ST moneyhats limit is.

....I...I just don't think one stream can rake in that kind of money, no matter how good it is.

Valiant effort though :/

Did you really write this post and not consider what you were insinuating in the process?

And in addition knowing fully well that link only went up recently?

We get it, you don't have a very large affinity for breast cancer research. That's fine, but that doesn't make it sad that other people do.

If generalizing an entire racial community makes you a racist, then what does generalizing an entire fighting game community make you?

There's so many half-thoughts, ridiculous inferences, and overall BS garbage in this thread it's unbelievable.

At this point, if you're still trying to convince people that you're smarter and you know what's better for them, then you're either an idiot or a jerk.

Something to read if you think it's outrageous to question the value of cancer research.

People potentially making money off of cancer research? Dump all your money into saving Mike Watsons arcade instead!

And I liked Mike from back in the day, but... Really? Jaded much? It equates to a damn raffle. I can sign up for those at high school football games if I want.

Also, to whoever said 20k was a bit too much of a gap, didn't the first one do 15?
If it gets sniped, it'll be to ST, not Smash. And I doubt all three won't get some nice pub out of it, and the runner ups will get a decent side tourney at EVO. Nobody really loses here.

You and many other smashers assumed we wouldn't make it this far. I assumed we'd be crushed by you and MLP instantly from the start. Yet here we are. One of three kings until 12AM tonight.

I'm not counting anyone out yet.

There were many times where I thought scythe was just a high profile troll. This last page has made me really consider that he's serious. And it's terrifying.
