absolutely will buy, just started Origins on Vita and its lights out good.
But they are ignoring the fact that multiple other games are coming out in that time frame, including our beloved GTA V. It's going to bomb hard against GTA V.
RE4 Gamecube exclusive! Lol nope.
RE Revelations 3DS exclusive! Trolol.
Rayman Legends Wii U exclusive! ....
Ok, Nintendo and 3rd party relationship will never be better.
Wait, do we know for sure that it was done?
That would be the smart thing to do.There's really no reason to buy it day one anymore. I mean think about it. We're going to see a lot of games out in September, including GTA V, which are more likely to be bought over this. In two months time the price for Legends will drop and we'll see Black Friday deals for around $20. I was going to buy it day one since there was nothing else on the Wii U, but now I'll just wait for it to hit a low price.
there goes my interest in this title
Yeah, as in an extra 300,000 per system, at least. Nothing to preclude it from being a multi-million seller, but I was just being conservative! Not playing Sales GAF, though, so don't get hung up on the example. The point is, the game will sell a LOT more as a multiplat.Hundreds of thousands?
Wait, do we know for sure that it was done? It was close to release, but maybe that release date was just bullshit.
"[the reason for the delay is] really about the fans."
To be fair, the people interested in GTAV and those interested in Legends don't necessarily overlap, and those who care for both are likely enthusiast gamers who are willing to spend more money for multiple games in a short timespan.
I bet Mr. Iwata is thrilled with this right now.
Obviously based on what he said at the Nintendo Direct he knows that the Wii U line up isn't exactly thrilling the world right now, and not that Rayman necessarily would set the world on fire, but at least it was something relatively soon they could get to the market.
Sorry if this was posted already.Rich‏@RichIGN
A lot of you will blame Ubisoft but I think the blame is Nintendo's. It has not created a compelling business scenario for third parties.
"This delay is all about the fans. We thought they probably didn't want to play it in a fortnight, and would like to wait until September"
:/
Oh fuck you.Quote:
"[the delay is] really about the fans. Its really about having a very interesting universe, a mix of craziness and poetry mixed all together. We are very happy that we can bring that to many, many Rayman fans and the more we can, the better.
While this may hold some truth, I guarantee this game will lose potential sales to GTA V as well as other releases in that time frame.
Holy shit at the delay. So much for Ubisoft having a good relationship with Nintendo as well.
Love Origins on PS3 in 1080p and this does not seem more demanding, or any other technical reason it NEEDS to be on the WiiU lol
PS3 and 360 can run this juuust fine so let them. Why are people mad/sad over this?
Im happy.

ome on man, Wiii U can't catch a break.
Ubisoft can really fuck off right now
I don't mind the game going multiplatform, actually I prefer it that way, the game deserves more sales
But what I can't understand is the delay for the Wii U version.
What a shitty move, Ubisoft. They KNOW it's one of the most anticipaded games, it had potential as a system seller, they KNOW the Wii U is basically crawling and starving for new games and what do they do? delay it 7 FUCKING MONTHS!! Exactly the same month GTA V releases. I don't know if they do it on purpose or they're just unintentionally retarded.
You know what blows my mind?
THIS WAS THE ONLY PLAYABLE DEMO ON WII U KIOSKS AT LAUNCH TIME
Not even Mario, LEGO City, or Sonic Racing!! How many excuses does Ubi-soft need?
There'll be a PC release. Just like everyone suspected there would be a PS3/360 release of Legends. It just hasn't been announced yet. What? No PC release? Why?
If you're going to take Wii U's exclusivity anyaway, why not release it for the only platform that's not going to be replaced in the next year? D:
Yep. Except for the PSN/XBLA deal. They could (and should) still do retail. The smart way for Ubisoft to handle this was to:
1. Release the Wii U version on track on Feb 26.
2. Get awesome reviews.
3. Enhance the game with extras for PS3/360 release on PSN/XBLA for budget price of $40 by the end of the year (around October).
4. Sell well and receive good review again.
5. The hype will remind people of the game again when it's near the year-end award season.
6. Sweep some Platformer of the Year award.
Now they are just making a mess. Especially delaying it 2 weeks before its release.

And we'll never know if you are right because we don't live in an alternate universe to collect data for when it's released in March. It has competition in every month. "Other releases" and so forth.
Sorry if this was posted already.
actually it makes sense. They probably figure since the WiiU sales would probably be so poor, they're better off releasing the game on all platforms so it isn't perceived as a "late port" on the other consoles. Not buying the game now.
I don't feel like playing Rayman when there are so many other games coming out in September.
Ubisoft really screwed up this release
Better to delay all versions than to release one version and then release the other two 7 months later when the public has moved on.
